Guns N' Roses Announcement at 7AM EST, May 25th

Recommended Posts

I could be reading into this waaayyyy too much, but the timeline mentions singles, specifically when they were released and certain song titles a bunch of times.

If you break down what the other parts of the video are about you get tours and band members, specifically Duff and Slash, leaving, and random accolades being mentioned.

So there seems to be four elements to the old timeline  video:

1. Tours/specific performances

2. The "Big Three" and when they formed the band/left/rejoined

3. Songs/Albums/Music Videos when they were released/first played

4. Random accolades

The beginning of this new timeline starting in 2016 mentions the members that left rejoining, and the first leg of the NITL tour and the first date of that leg. The timeline then continues in the next video to talk about the North American NITL leg, then the SA leg, even talks about the upcoming European dates, then mentions the Japanese, Australian, and Asian dates, then Dubai..

So this new timeline mentions the big three, specific performances and tours already....

If we are following the formula from the timeline that chronicled the very beginning to Chinese Democracy, could the next thing on the timeline revealed to everyone on Wednesday be a single release??? I mean the first timeline really goes into detail with those singles...

And isnt this the most logical thing to do? (I probably just jinxed that lol...) But i mean put a single out. Announce an album, perform that single all over Europe and have North America drooling at the fucking cock to see GNR perform their new hit single live because no amount of "shit quality youtube videos" and periscopes will do justice to it. Over the corse of the tour they may play a new song from the new album that will keep all of us excited for each and every night they play and probably make a few of us buy tickets to see them again. Everyone wins.

Wishful thinking at the end there, but it does seem logical. Especially with how that video was set up.

The smart and sensible thing is to never get your hopes up as a GNR fan, HOWEVER:

1) In the teaser video for next Wednesday, the heavy focus is AXL, SLASH, DUFF...the extra baggage on stage (Richard, Dizzy, Frank, Melissa) is already being marginalized.  So if 4 people are being scrubbed out of the picture, that leaves openings for...

2) The sales on the next leg of the North American tour have been very weak.  Even when comparing last summer's domestic run to Metallica's current stadium tour, in many big markets (eg Philly), tickets need to be heavily discounted to ensure a full house...something Metallica did not have to resort to.  GNR needs a big marketing boost if they want to move the rest of those tickets for the upcoming tour leg.  Foreign audiences might not care who is on stage, but the US audiences seem to

3) Steven has been muzzled again (and publicly proven to have the ability to play a full show - see Argentina) and Izzy is being reached out to via social media

So regarding next Wednesday, all signs distinctly point in one direction...

On the latest teaser clip the timeline starts from the troubadour last year. So to me that means it's something current line up related and rules out AFD 30th show. I'll guess at more dates being added but Slash's latest IG clip does give hope of some new music. Roll on Wednesday

You are reading way too much into a throwaway online Twitter video....

This announcement is obviously relating to the continuation of the tediously dull NITL tour. New material from Axl Rose is never going to happen.

Everyone is thinking about a new album.

I think it's just more gigs in the US.. notin' more

Why should they build up such a hype for some random tour dates? That won't be such a big deal...

Because it's a shitty local radio station. That's what they do. They'd make a competition to give away two sets of concert tickets seem like a big deal.

Why on earth would an international rock band choose to spill the beans on new material on an obscure local radio station? Makes no sense at all. Add to that, the actual chances of Axl agreeing to release new material at this stage are negligible at best.

Remember that before the illusions  tour they announced the club dates through local radio stations?
