It is a radio station thing, did it ever cross your heads it might be, you know, a song?

I cant see why would they be recurring to radio if it was anything like more tour dates as they could just put it online. They could put a song online too, but they're on a nostalgia/revival thing, so maybe they want their new song to be released the way it was back then.

Just imagine, a funky sleazy hard rock n roll Slash/Axl song playing on radios worldwide. That'd be fuckin epic.

Maybe they're announcing a new date on the radio to reach the older fans who don't use the internet for much, if at all.

Hey guys, you may find this interesting, last week 95.5 KLOS mentioned Guns N' Roses should be announcing a show in Southern California soon, this morning they mentioned they will have a "Big Announcement" about Guns N' Roses next week. (I recorded the audio this time)

I note that the guy says about the announcement: "gee I wonder what it could be?  Take a guess."  The 'gee I wonder' sentence sounds almost sarcastic to me, as in it should be obvious what the announcement is.  Or maybe thats just radio host voice and phrasing?

A 15 night residency at the Las Vegas Hotel Hard Rock Casino!

Yeah, why not. That would leave some space for different quest musicians like Izzy & Steven, Tommy, Robin, Angus, Pete Townshend, etc.

I would probably be done with the reunion if they do a residency in Vegas for that long haha the only saving grace would be to guarantee a different set every night

You have to keep in mind that not everyone would watch all of the shows. The bulk of the setlist has to be the same. But yeah, a few suprises here and there would be nice.

Sounds sarcastic to me too. Like "oh gee, more tour dates, what a surprise"

Best guess it's to announce California shows - LA/San Diego.

Could possibly be to announce those shows as being the start of some sort of AFD reunion for those dates plus the remainder of the US tour dates. (Which from a marketing perspective would be genius...since the balance of US tour dates ticket sales have been somewhat average).

And that could have been the reason Fernando met with Live Nation - to figure out a solution to get ticket sales going/ to come to a modified agreement that includes both Adler and Izzy on the remaining US tour dates.  And obviously if that's the case, look for near instant sellouts of the remaining dates after it's announced.  Of course, this could be me just dreaming but would be awesome if true.

I doubt the slower sales of already announced shows is a major concern. They've already made upwards of $230M and the European leg has sold a tremendous amount of tickets. Even if the second US leg only sells half of each stadium (which it won't, the numbers will be better than that) it's still a win.

Yeah I'm sure they will do fine either way from the band's perspective - they are probably guaranteed a certain amount per show regardless....but from a promoters perspective (Live Nation in this case) they will want to sell as many tickets as possible, even add dates when possible....so that's what makes Fernando's meeting with Live Nation interesting.

I wonder how much the DJ would be in the loop?  Is this his guess?  Or does he already have the announcement?  If he already has it, and its dates, sounds like they're just normal dates

Oh I'm sure they already have the info, that's why his tone isn't encouraging to me.

But why would they announce more dates on radio? Unless there is something extremely special about the new dates. We've seen they post the tour dates in their official website.

I could see something along these lines although as much as I'd enjoy an AFD reunion I'd be a bit pissed on behalf of myself and Europe if they announced Izzy and Steven for the US dates then showed up in Europe with the current set up.

If the US dates were the beginning of a new AFD 5 cycle then I'd have to wait another 18 months again to see all 5.
