Shoes

Just on the Slane castle gig thread and saw some fucker in the GNR camp wearing some hideous shoes. I got me thinking and my fist ever fist fight was over shoes haha! I got a pair of Reebok pumps in 91 i think (i saved half and mum put in the other half) and this other kid at school was claiming i copied him so we had to throw down after that. Thought i'd start a thread about shoes anyway, what you're rocking now and some of your faves over the years. I got some Onisuka Tiger Mexico 66's and some black n white Adidas Hemps right now, the Tiger's would have to be the most comfy shoe i've ever worn i think

I had a few pairs of Nike airs but they hurt my feet, so I've got this one pair absolutely knackered NB I won't throw out, soles are falling off.

Other than that I have some Clarks are pretty comfortable. Timberland boots for winter to pretend I'm in Twin Peaks. I want to get some slip-ons that a Columbian drug lord would wear but I don't how to say that in the shop. White or light grey, something you can wear with a vest and drink cans on street in style.

I love the original Nike Air Max but they're all horrible now and over £100 a pair

I have five different pairs of Converse, the black and white ones are my favourite. Im waiting for a new pair I ordered because the ones I have now have holes in them all over. I'm having to wear red ones at the moment.

Fellow Converse owners, I've only owned pairs before they reshaped the inner sole, so it fits the arch of your foot. How comfy are they?

I can't imagine life without Converse. They're long-lasting, fairly priced and you can have a personal look with them. The only downside, is as Len says, they aren't flattering on big feet. I'm a UK size 8 foot, which is a size many women have, but many shops haven't caught onto that fact yet.

Cant stand Vans and Converse and that.  I like a few low shits, like Stan Smiths, Superstars...but I got size 13 feet (14 in American size) so they just don't suit.  I'm a bit of a 90s high tops type of kiddie.

Holy shit man! Those ain't feet, they're skis! How tall are ya then?

Should you ever want to go for classic shoes you can get some from this shop:

https://pasdegeant.fr/4319970-chaussures-homme-grande-taille

It's a specialised shop. They ship to the UK (I take it that's where you live).

6'4 i believe

6'4 is a nice height :D

i have ton of shoes i never wear. they all look so pretty i can't resist but they kill my feet. i wear boots mostly, my fave pair is fuzzy black with pom poms and the boots are actually more comfy than most shoes. when it gets warmer i wear these cute sandals, they are dirt cheap and come in all colors so i have several pairs. when i'm home it's bare feet all they way. i feel a weird need to have my feet "breathe", at night i can't stand having them under the overs unless it's absolutely freezing. oh in the winter around the house i wear those cute really soft socks, i have them in tons of colors. i only wear dresses or skirts so no need for tennies :)

I had the exact same situation!  Going splits on the reebok pumps.  I had a pair of Ewings too later on that gotta a lot of love.

Now, winter boots or sandals from Canadian Tire when not in a pair of steel toed shoes from Marks Work Warehouse.  Look like running shoes, but If you know they're work shoes you can see the difference.  I had a pair of hand made fancy shoes from Germany - tan with air holes and fancy touches - that I wore for years but haven't had anything noteworthy in some time.

In high school I knew the guy who ran an independent shoe store that focused on converse.  In a haze of cannabis I bought some prototype shoes the were essentially clown shoes mixed with low cut chucks.  Not sure if they ever went to production?  Mine were purple.

Being a kid of the 90s i always had a thing for Clarks Wallabees.  This was never much of a thing in England cuz Clarks over here are considered a conservative middle class thing but folks from Jamaica know, folks from places influenced by Jamaica like NYC know, anyone that ever listened to reggae knows, anyone that ever listened to Wu Tang knows (who picked up on it from the local Jamaicans).  In fact any Mod knows, anyone who ever thought Desert boots looked sick should know (the OG desert boots were by Clarks) Clarks are kinda sick.

I got the real deal blue and cream Clark Wallabees as a Ghostface fan would understand, dyed by the guy Sycamore Style from NYC (i take my footwear kinda serious) in my wardrobe right now.

FUN FACT: My former boss wrote a book about the Desert Boot.

I like Clarks as a brand. Picked up a pair of those ballet slipper style shoes (unworn) from a charity shop for £7 years ago. They just won't wear out!

i actually know a woman from the Phillipines who knew Imelda Marcos. Imelda was a size 8 and 1/2 but she didn't want people knowing her feet were so big so she bought all these shoes in size 5 or 6 and just displayed them. sounds like what i should do with all my high heels. i have a few pair with 6 inch heels and i am 5'9... i try walking in them and almost fall soooo i think just having them there to look at and admire would be for the best :P
