hey,

1. As a band and unity, like beatles, zepp, and Queen, U2 had a successfull career. They had a same band member from start to finish/now, so it is reasonable they got much more respect from fans

2. Remember in '87, when U2 released Joshua tree (5th album), they already did a stadium tour and sell out many of them. While Guns just made debut with AFD

3. U2 had 6-7 great albums within 3 decades, while Guns only had 3 in 80-90's, what a huge difference market

4. You cant compare U2's 360 tour with the rest, it was full capacity stadium show which more 25% capacity than end stage show. That's why they can beat Stones's Bigger Bang tour

For me, what Guns N' Roses can get right now is very high achievement.

You know, they only had 3 great albums and lost their identity for almost 23 years, but they can still sell out stadium tour as a nostalgia act (40 - 60k per show)

Maybe if Guns never broke up and continue to make a great album, nowday they are as big as U2 and stones

Now lets hope for new material with izzy and steven :))))

sorry for my english

U2 puts on a great live show .Seen them twice most recently on their arena tour a few years back at the Forum.I really don't get the hate if you've never seen them live how could you possibly hate something you've never experienced.Theres a reason that they continue to sell out stadiums all over the world .Theyre the same 4 guys and they continue to put out new music and each tour is a different experience .I wish we had more bands like them .They could've quit creating new music ages ago and sold out arenas if not stadiums but they keep trying to create something new.Their last album I enjoyed and the life experience that went with it was incredible

give them a few more years and "guns n roses" will have its spot as the biggest tour ever

you know maybe axl will get enough money to hire a decent drummer and a decent rhythm guitar player

Rose looks a complete wanker with his wine and cigarette holder. It took Jagger fifteen years to get that much of a wanker.

It at least suits Uncle Mick though, he can pull it off, he always had a bit of the effette about him, LSE boy and all that, he had a natural affinity with all that nonceyness, watching that Indiana shit-shoveller trying to pull it off is just disconcerting, like gay cowboys, its just not right

He was always had a bit of wotsit to him.  Hanging out with Eton boys like Robert Fraser and watching the cricket, Micks fuckin' class all the way, Mick always rubbed shoulders with the cream of wherever, Princess Margaret if I'm not mistaken, fuckin' Imran Khan was a mate of his, Mick is certified top drawer, he's allowed to do the cigarette holder bit.  Choose a fuckin' cultural heavyweight and I bet you they're a mate of Micks.

During Exile he started to hobnob with models and royalty in Paris and disassociated himself a bit from 'Keefness' and even being a 'pop singer'. That is when he started going out with Bianca.

And who can blame him if you think about it.  Would you rather hang about with a bunch of mongy skagheads or shag a fuckin' classy bird and wake up to silk sheets and fuckin' room service...and still get a bit coke on the side, Mick had the right idea.

Yes, Keith was at Nellcôte - which still had swastikas on the floor from its previous tenants, the Gestapo, incidentally - with Gram Parsons and Jimmy Miller: three notorious reprobates. Taylor and Watts were there occasionally but Mick was in Paris and Wyman was somewhere else down the coast. They'd record through the night with Keith constantly interrupting the song to go to the bathroom for some odd reason. Keith just gathered anybody who was around which is why you get people like Miller on drums, and Keith overdubbing bass and things like that on Exile.

Mick would pop in occasionally. The carnage would send him scurrying back to Paris. Mich spruced up the tracks in America and added a few more. Mick does not like ragged. Exile is the ultimate Keef album really.

Even on that Exile documentary a few years ago you can tell Jagger thinks Exile is a load of shite haha

Fair play to U2 on the longevity stakes. Still haven't seen their latest tour but would love to check it out if they come a little closer to where I'm staying.

For me, Zoo TV and Popmart were among the best shows I've ever been to. By quite a margin.

I kinda lost interest after that - just wasn't feeling their music in the 2000's as much as the 80s/90s. The Vertigo tour was kinda boring and vey mediocre (naming the tour after a generic and bland song not the best idea IMO), 360 was good as a spectacle but didn't quite meet the heights of the previously mentioned pinnacle tours in their heyday. Great shows, just wasn't into the music as much.

just my 2 cents
