59's neck and 60's neck

I havent noticed any difference in the way the 59's neck and the 60's nck les pauls look.

Could someone just tell me the excact difference?

for the 59:

longer tenon an mortise (joint with the body)

different contour

slightly beefier neck (wider and deeper)

I just found out the other day that my teacher owns an all-original 59´les paul...I must try it out...

Does he know how much those are worth?

100 grand or more for a standard in good condition.

yep..hep knows what it's worth....he plays it...Rightfully so, I must say...It's really only worth that much when in mint condition and not played...But it's really more valuable for the owner to play and love it....If it's just in a glass case unplayed...there's just no value to it...that value comes from it being an extraordianry instrument that has aged to perfection...And what's the pont of an instrument If you're not gonna play it..because, come on, it doesn't look that much better than the new ones..

I agree with you 100% on this. I wasn't really serious....more like "holy shit a 59!!! does he know what he has???"

There's a 59 sitting above the counter in a glass case at one of the local music shops here It's been there for at least 6 years now. Everytime I see it there, I think what a waste it is
