U2 - Atomic Bomb

I think the album is U2's best  rock3

Then you need to listen to The Joshua Tree. Or, anything from the 80s. Roughly 100x better than HTDAAB.

Wrong.

The Joshua Tree may be a better album but nothing else from the 80s is. And it ain't 100x better.

Atomic Bomb is a wonderful record.

City Of Blinding Lights

Sometimes you can't make it on your own

These 2 tunes in particular. Amazing.

City of the blinding lights is very beautifull, i love the uitar and the chorus, original of species is also very good and crumbs of your table is very good too, i don't like sometimes you can't make it on your own that much, but it is indeed a very good record

I've never like U2. I really don't think they're contibuting anything interesting to rock. Bono sounds like a tired old man who would rather be playing at politics than being a rockstar.

Agreed. I can tolorate their 80s work, and yeah even some of toadsy tunes are catchy but that Bono... his voice... yawn.

I respect their talent and longevity but I've never truly liked one of there albums. Got Atom Bomb and there's some good songs. It's always been a case of looking at Bono jog down the catwalk and croon and I'm thinking "The musics so uplifting but I don't feel that way" I'm trying to think of my favorite song. Batman Forever tune I think. But Bono isn't convincing as a party animal or a hell raiser. There 's no lead guitar?

"All your dreams are made, when your chained to the mirror and the razor blade"

With the exception of "City of Blinding Lights" and "Love and Peace or Else" it's a ho-hum album, just like All That You Can't Leave Behind. Those two albums are weak compared to The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby, which I think is the best album ever. It's a sad commentary on today's music when a mediocre album by a band that's been around for over 25 years is the biggest rock album of the year.
