To play in a band that doesn't leave the garage? To entertain your family and friends? To join a local orchestra? To entertain yourself while relaxing?I thought before that what I wanted was rock stardom. I don't want that anymore. I thought then what I wanted was to be a session musician at a studio. I don't want that anymore. I thought what I wanted to do was to compose music for movies (film scoring). I don't want that anymore. I thought I wanted to study music in college. I don't want that anymore. All I want is to sit out on my front porch at the end of the day, overlook my crops, and play some blues music before going to bed. But if I end up doing gigs around town in clubs the rest of my life, thats fine with me. Its what I live for, so no matter what level I play at I'll be happy. Whether that brings fame/money etc I really don't give a shit as long as I can pay the bills. I had band practice today. We're working on loads of new stuff and the song we did today had a real agressive edge to it. I was writing lyrics and was completely zoned out. I usually ask the guys if they like what I'm singing lyrically and melodically - today I didn't, and I think I would've killed them if they'd questioned it - lol. I was just completely into it. I want all of it.No offense, but man, making it in blues is a HAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRD game man. The band I play in has been goin for 25 years, and still haven't landed a major label deal.
