jimmy1981
Haha, what a joke.I'm pretty sure the fans would much rather see a show "not up to the high GN'R standards" (a.k.a. without Pyro) then no show show at all and those "extra rules" seem to go hand in hand with the rumours that they weren't allowed to bring booze on stage.Ya your fucking cool Axl. Whiney little bitch. You sir, are a DOUBLE TALKIN' JIVE MOTHERFUCKER. I 2nd That

Nick85
The only part I didnt like about the press release is how that claim that they're doing it "for the fans" too. C'mon, gimme a break.
Vincent Vega
I'm surprised that they didn't follow mel gibsons lead and blame the jews. There isn't any reason that they couldn't have gone ahead with the show without the pyros. The fans are coming to hear the music and they aren't going to be disappointed if there are no pyros.Let's be real.Yeah, the cancellation was shitty BUT, if they had played with no pyro, tomorrow you'd see a Kaneda thread or something basically bitching that there was no pyro and how much Axl sucks for not having any pyro. stratus
It's never GNR's fault Maybe not, but it was a management fault. The stupid in charge should be fired and they need to hire somebody able to beside other stuff call and visit each venue in advance (during the tour!) and check a long list of things. It looks like there are a lot of amateurs there. Soundboard problems, problems with the fire dept. in the day of the show, this is a joke. The good guys on the GNR 'family' needs better assistants, IMHO.I was being sarcastic...I love how every press release that deals with some negative happening always ends up with GNR/Merck/Axl/and now Sanctuary attacking and putting all the blame onto someone else....in their eyes it's never their fault and everyone is trying to single them out.no wonder Axl still plays "Out Ta get Me"...cause he still thinks the fire marshals, buckethead, slash/duff, and the whatever "stopped" him from doing Vancouver/Philly are out to get himI don't know, i don't know. I'll sit here to wait the Del James word on the situation. I can't wait for a rant against us and the mechanical bull, oops, fire marshalls. We, the non-fans are always sarcastic. I really feel sorry for Robin and Ron though.

Lukinx
da_pope, i'm pretty sure that the fans would love a semi-accoustic set. I bet that the fire marshalls would allow two keyboards and maybe three electric guitars. No pyros, entire AFD, some Lies and UYI, no new songs and a huge apologies for the fans there from the start for not being able to do the full set.Why not a full set and why acoustic? It´s the pyros that are the problem, nothing else....

Ridin' the Nightrain
Ha.I love the way they act like everyone is out to get GN'R. Classic press statement.Meh. Not sure what to make of this. Seems like the show could've gone on and a few missing pyros and whatnot is no big deal.

Turn_It_Up
So bogus. Always the victim. If it's not the rotten security guard, it's those damn fire marshalls all out to ruin things for GNR. And did they really call Clay Aiken an aritst? SWINGTRADER
Axl just wanted to have the fans that paid for tonight attend the next show that way he performs in front of a packed house and only has to perform once. thetumblindice
Well, last i saw GnR I had to camp out overnight to score even nosebleed seats. So it has suprised me to see attendance under 5000 at alot of shows. But ya know waht? Thinking back, I saw them twice on UYI - first time they cut the show short due to "lame-ass security"...second time they took the stage around midnight after about a 2 hour intermission because "I've been detained" I love the music and I'd really like to see them when they come to Baltimore this month. But hey, I'm not 18 in college anymore, and to be honest, going to see a band that won't show up till 11:30 - 12:00 on a Monday night (IF they bother to show up at all) is just more hassle than it's worth. I hope the best for this band and I hope CD will be worth the wait...but I have never seen a guy with so much talent, yet so incerdibly awful when it comes to PR blunders. SWINGTRADER
http://billboard.blogs.com/jadedinsider/20..._n_noshows.htmlGuns N' No-ShowsWell, this didn't take long. Eight shows into Guns N' Roses' fall tour, the band is back to its usual show-going antics, having cancelled tonight's (Nov. 6) gig in Portland, Maine, due to low ticket sales. Jaded Insider's man on the scene dropped by the 8,800-capacity venue thinking he'd maybe score some last minute seats, only to be turned away by arena staff. However, a press release from the band blames the cancellation on "limitations imposed by local fire marshals. Axl and the band are very unhappy about not being able to play for the fans in Portland but have been advised after several meetings with local fire marshals Nelson Collins and Bob Cadigan that they have made it impossible for the band to perform their show to the usual high standards that their fans deserve.""More importantly, we have been informed that officials intend to enforce rules and regulations that should not and do not apply in this venue," it continues. "Our production manager and crew have been in this building with Clay Aiken and Green Day and none of the restrictions imposed on Guns N’ Roses were experienced by those artists. It is our opinion that they are going out of their way to target and single out Guns N' Roses and the band's loyal fans. Following consultation with the band's manager, agent and promoter, it was felt that it was best to cancel the show. It is a regrettable decision, particularly at this late notice, but it is of paramount importance that our fans have the best experience possible without being harassed and threatened." GNR is offering to exchange tickets from tonight's show for "the best available locations" at tomorrow's concert in Worcester, Mass.Meanwhile, sources say the rumored Nov. 21 release date for the band's long-festering album, "Chinese Democracy," is definitely not going to happen. It remains to be seen if the disc will see the light of day before the end of the year. For Billboard.com's review of GNR's show last week in Jacksonville, Fla., click here.
