Why was Merck fired?

I don't wanna bash the guy but it wasnt only Axl who's called Merck out.

A certain other member has also lamented his disapproval of Merck.

Don't be suprised if they reconcile.

This could just be one big act to keep the delay backlash to a minimum.

i'd be fucking pissed if that was the case, infact i'd be done with this band and it's games, axl's only got a thin peace of rope keeping him from dropping.

You're the second person who has mentioned this theory.

If it's true - it was smart.

But - who knows. Time will tell I guess.

That theory doesn't seem to make much sense, IMO. First, the backlash wasn't going to be that huge, just some of us frustrated, yet conditioned die-hards who will still buy the album in '07 regardless. And whatever backlash there was going to be from the media isn't going to go away just because Axl fired his manager--with this thing over a decade in the making, another firing is ho-hum at this point.

If Axl believed a phony firing of Merck would get him some good-will until March, what does he think's going to happen when they supposedly reconcile? Plus, no way do they write the things they wrote about each other if the grand plan was to reconcile. Not a chance...

won't be so smart when people find out. it would be the dumbest thing ever done in gnr history.

Actions? Give me specific examples of how he was a "useless clueless good for nothing braindead moron".

How about this:

"2005 is the year of Guns N' Roses"

"There are 13 Tuesdays left in 2006. It will be out in one of them."

If he was making it up, then he deserves to be fired. If he was told by Axl that the album would be done and ready for release before the end of the year, then he's not really to blame.

Dear God! Let's lynch him!

Axl has made a few statements about CD's release that are just as pathetic. "I don't know if soon is the word..."

"will the album be out this year?"

"yes definatly"

or something along those lines.
