Sucks to hear that he has health issues. Hope things are better for him going forward. This band is cursed when it comes to lead singers, man… Lzzy Hale is awesome tho. Glad they got her.

Well after some digging it appears you are dead wrong😄 The song Chinese democracy actually performed on mmfew worldwide charts No 5 on American main stream rock chart. Top 10 song in Canada, top 30 in the UK. Finland, Norway, Sweden etc. were all top 10 too. And there's more countries if you care to scour through that info. There was no megahit and today almost nobody remembers...but nonetheless a hit is a hit. I rest my case.

https://blabbermouth.net/news/erik-gronwall-why-i-decided-to-leave-skid-row Erik has decided to leave Skid Row. "Yes, I have decided to leave SKID ROW. The main reason being that it's proved difficult to prioritize my health and full recovery as the lead singer of the band. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ "In 2021 I was undergoing treatment against leukemia and that gave me a superpower called perspective. I decided to use that perspective and write down the values I wanted to live by for the rest of my life. On top of that list it says 'health first'. ⠀⠀ "I've had to look at that list a lot of times this last year, questioning if I'm really living according to my values. At the end of the day I realized the answer was no. ⠀⠀⠀ "As a result of the treatments and transplant my immune system was impaired. You can think of my immune system as a 4 year old kid bringing home all kinds of viruses from preschool. It takes awhile to build up that resistance again but my immune system is getting stronger every day. However I'm still doing regular check ups (blood tests) at the hematology department in Sweden, which has proved challenging while keeping up with the SKID ROW schedule. I have way too much respect for my medical history to push myself to the limit.⠀⠀ "I love SKID ROW, I have nothing but respect for the guys in the band but I love and respect my health more. I understand that SKID ROW is a touring band but like I told the guys: 'if I can't prioritize my health, then I'm not the right guy for the job'.⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Please note, I'm NOT sick and it's not that I don't want to tour. I love being on the road. And of course we have tried to find the right balance together but at the end of the day I realized that it was better for me to step aside. ⠀ "So now I'm going to focus on my full recovery, and come back stronger than ever. Meanwhile I'm finalizing my biography. And I'm going to start writing my own music again. ⠀⠀⠀ "Lastly, once again thank you to everyone who accepted me as the singer of this iconic band. ⠀⠀⠀ "Always remember that no job, no money, no fame is worth your health or well being. Health first always. I owe this decision to the guy in the second picture [ in the post below] and I'm proud to be able to say that I kept my promise to him. Health first!"

Yes. It was inevitable Axl and Slash would reunite. No, I didnt predict him fronting ACDC but I wouldn't call that something wild, it made a lot of sense and it was great. to predict this i would have to have known brian johnson was going deaf. Once he did, and ACDC announced they were going to carry on, yes i hoped axl would do it, and once I knew he was interested I 100% expected it. They weren't going to give it to a south american tribute singer over Axl fuckin rose were they? Hmmm, maybe. I hoped they would do a couple VR songs, but I cannot say i expected it no, however is covering a hit song by your 2 bandmates a 'unpredictable' crazy move? Yes, I knew he wanted to release silkworms and that if there was ever a new album it would be on it, no I did not predict it would be the first single because that was a terrible dreadful decision to make. Overall I wouldn't call any of these things that wild or crazy or rockstar or axl circa 85-2010. Playing a song live after touring for 8 years straight isn't making me question the existence of humanity. he's a predictable guy.

I don't believe Axl told them what to play no, but there's only so much they can do with it, the vocals, keyboards, drums are the same and they probably heard the original versions and did their own versions. I think they have autonomy over their parts, but theres not too much they can do to already completed songs creatively. How duff lays down the bass lines is going to be very similar to tommys, otherwise he'd be playing the wrong notes. Tone and style are obv the big differences. the alternative is just axl does solo stuff. I don't think I'd call Axl unpredictable. Not since about 2012. the past 12 years, you can almost predict his tweets, his setlists, his stage moves, his lack of album release etc. He's very predictable as an artist now. The hot head trying to take on the world died after rock in rio 2011

Other than personal preferences on the music, I don't see that much difference between Motley Crue and GNR really. I don't really get why people don't like Motley Crue to the level they do, again, other than preferring the music of GNR. If we're talking 'musically credible band' stuff, surely Motley Crue might even surpass GNR- they've done way more albums.
