    • Don't agree with any of that. If Izzy left, Richard would have been right there. Plus, why would Izzy leave? Its a giant nostalgia tour. No drama, no new music, just show up and get paid. Exactly what he did with NuGNR. Besides, he has said many times he would have done a reunion. Also, it seems they just didn't want to deal with Steven and it was an easy excuse. Easy as that. Its clear Axl isn't fond of him. If they were a real band that wanted to write and function like a real band, I could get why they wouldn't want Steven full time. Again, though, its a "show up and play" situation and if he fucked up, Frank would have just taken over full time. It seems like it boils down to personal problems and $$$. For the reunion to work Axl obviously needed Slash. You can argue that IS the reunion everyone wants. Getting one more member just seals the deal for the general public. Obviously, it'd be Duff. Its the easiest way out.
    • I think a small part of it is that Steven still thinks it's 1987. So he sees Axl as his peer - and treats him like such. He hasn't bumped Axl up to 'deity' yet like all the others and I think that chaps Axl's ass.
    • Hindsight you are right but neither me or you is Axl It's 2017 now and Axl is still reluctant to let go of Nuguns and the CD era. I mean CD's been out for almost a decade. Plus another decade+ it took to get it out. It's fuckin insanity imo!
    • Those discussions are a bit pointless. Prime Axl was a force of nature, an unstoppable one. I remember my dad (massive rock fan but into older stuff and filled with prejudice) watching the Freddie Mercury tribute and being absolutely blown away, in a "oh my god listen to this motherfucker" way. Axl was surely mind blowing, he could floor a stadium in any given single moment. In terms of comparing the best moments, I'd say Axl is a world class frontmanm for sure. Sadly, Axl is very inconsistent. Dips in form and lack of material really hinder his standing among rock gods. He's been vocally amazing in three distinct periods: 1988-1993, 2006-2007 and 2009-2010. His voice in 2001-2002 and 2011-2017 immediately removes him from any best ever discussion. It is a shame that his creative output is also questionable. Axl's fantastic years after the  90'uuts were kind of wasted with a single album of new material. 2017 Axl is not in any "best ever" discussion. He gets a lot of shit, but he is a very competent singer with unbelievable range. Still, he doesn't sound like his old self, except when singing for AC/DC.
    • I don't believe Axl wanna tour with Izzy because he fears that Izzy can quit again, we all know how pissed and sad he was in the Illusions tour about it. The Steven thing, I was thinking, he got screwed because of his injure, right? Maybe Axl, Slash and Duff thought that maybe he could go back to his drug addiction because of drugs to recover from the injure? I know it is almost conspiracy theory but I don't know, it makes sense to me
