OMG that talking in the 2nd verse is hilarious

"it wasn't their fault"

"how were they even supposed to know?"

and so on
"All these years later, he finally gets out there and he has two options:
Go and prove us all wrong, or screw it up. And he screwed it up, simple as that."

Is there any difference except for those lines? Except from an really awesome solo, and a great live-song, this has always been pretty shitty.

It's tough to tell, but I thin the drums are different as well. Wouldn't it have been Steven recording them when this was released?

The Ritz version will always be my favorite. Rock N Roll in its rawest form.
Axl likes Fall to Pieces. So do I.

knockin on heaven's door really shouldn't be too "rock n' roll" it's bob dylan, remember? I think it's best when they play it slow and bluesy.

OK, let me get this straight:

The differences on the Days of Thunder version are the talking in the second verse and Steven drumming instead of Matt?

^ If those are wrong, can someone let me in on the differences or complete the list if there are more differences than I mentioned?

No, this is Matt drumming. This was released in late July '90
Steven was fired in June or early July at the latest.

That makes sense, I heard Steven got fired July 11, 1990.

That sounds about right.
It's really wild the parallel with my own life--
Steven got fired from Guns in the Summer of '90, for basically fucking off for over a year and refusing to go straight
My sister was asked to leave my parents and my other sister's house in the Summer of '90 as she became pregnant at 17 after fucking off for over a year, seeing a thug and not doing what she was supposed to.

well sure, but it is also loved when pushed to the rock anthem/reggae groove Guns turned it into
Argentina 92' reigns as my favorite

The Ritz version will always be the definitive version for me. It has the perfect combination of bluesiness with on-the-edge rock n roll.

For those of you who paid attention, MTV regularly played the Ritz version, quite a bit in fact, back in 90 or so. And while the UYI version is polished and nice, the Ritz version will always be near and dear to my heart, and many other GNR fans too.
