IMHO Axl wants to keep Gn'R alive by keeping the name but in reality it's the legacy that keeps guns alive... I've nothing against the music, it's just not Gn'R.

"I don't think there is anything better than listening to your favorite band live"
"Rock N' Roll is about attitude and rebellion. It's supposed to be fun and spontaneous"
"Guns N' Roses are perceived as dangerous, because we're so unpredictable and prepared to take chances"
"We're just a band. we don't have to be the 'cool' thing. It's real important we get out there and express ourselves and play"

We should have had 3 albums by now, followed by a much awaited reunion.
I dig the 'new' album, but I don't have any sort of connection with the current band members.

Axl brought in a bunch of talented musicians (with the exception of Robin) together but the guys just don't mesh as a band. And that is evident in Chinese D.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
What do you have against Robin?

He sucks. He plays guitar as if his fingers have been ran over by an asphault paver.
Sounds similar to the way Steven plays the drums these days.

Dude, don't make fun of Steven. The guy has a mental illness. That's pretty low.

Let's face it,outside of us nobody gives a flying fuck for Frank Ferrer,Ron etc. That isn't to say they aren't great players but they just don't have the "It Factor" that Slash,Duff,Izzy and Steven are all blessed with.
i dont think personaltiies is the right word, i think status is the keyword. ron does not have the same status as slash, in "guns n roses" or in popular culture. slash was an original member, but more than that, we all know he was 50% of guns n roses, it was his and axls band.
you cant expect ron thal to walk in like he owns the place, and then rip on him because he doesnt act the way you expect him to. do you honestly expect him to comment on band business as if gnr was HIS band? he is a member, but this is axls band and everybody (except you) seems to know it. ron knows his place, and thats not a knock against him or anything, its just the situation. this is axls band, ron is his guitar player, and im totally fine with that. its not a band in a business sense, this is the axl rose show, he controls it all. musically, it is a band, you can listen to CD and tell its a group effort, not axl playing puppeteer. it is a band musically, and thats all that matters. i really dont understand how you havent accepted this yet. you seem to be constantly fustrated by the lack of comments, but you have nobody to blame but yourself.
one place we do agree, bucket is the only member since slash with starpower. imo losing bucket was a much bigger loss than slash. im not saying bucket is better than slash (which he is), but when slash left, it was time. they had outgrown eachother and it jsut wasnt working anymore. if slash had stuck around, it probably would have been a disaster. but buckets departure was premature. if axl and bucket kept worknig together for the past decade, who knows what they might have come up with.

i think there is great chemistry. i think your trying to say its 'all over the place'. if you want to hear the same solo / song structure over and over i suggest you put in libertad. how'd that album do? your 'robin isnt a talented muscian' comment is just ridiculous. he clearly is a talented muscian, maybe not your style, but to say he isnt talented is just lame.
yeah, it is all over the place, but thats kind of the point.

i think it is guns n roses. its obviosuly not the same guns n roses that most of us grew up with, but it IS guns n roses.
1.guns n rsoes did not end / resume, it just transformed. slash quit, he was replaced, duff quit, he was replaced.
2.the progression from appetite to illusions is matched by the progression from illusions to chinese. in this sense, i think chinese democracy is in the spirit of guns n roses. well, what i consider guns n roses to be. apparently alot of you think the spirt of guns n roses is being fucked up on heroin for a decade and pissing your leather pants on a nightly basis. then playing wtih fergie.
