Why is it, when most fans who want reunions say they want reunions, that they only want the 1985-1990 lineup with Steven?
GN'R didn't hit their peak of popularity with Steve and he's too fucked up to play at any reunion, and his whole look and his drum sound really dates AFD and the AFD era shows.. Even the rest of the band's look from '87 to '89 comes off as dated; whereas their early 90s look is a lot cooler, a lot less glammed up.
I mean what's so bad about the 1990-1991 lineup with Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, Matt and Dizzy? It produced the Illusions, which are awesome albums. Or hell, even the lineup with Gilby?
I mean reunions of either of those two would be great imo.

I agree. I wouldn't care if it was the UYI lineup as long as we get to see Slash and Duff.

If a reunion ever happeded i'd want one with all the original guys, minus steven and plus dizzy. Don't really care about the drummer in all honesty but wouldn't want to see Steven.

Above a reunion though, i want Axl and Izzy to collaborate musically again.

I've never understood that either. Seriously, Steven fucking Adler? Give me a fucking break. In all honesty, I would rather see them without a drummer than with Steven Adler.

If they would ever do a reunion it would be very wrong if not all the original guys were there. I also hope that Dizzy wouldn't be invited to a reunion.

Presumably because Adler drummed on Guns N Roses first and best record and possibly the best debut of all time.

Saying he shouldn't be in a reunion because he wasn't with them at their peak is stupid. He was one of the 5 people who brought GNR to that level and was included from the beginning. Therefore, he should be at a reunion. Rather than someone who replaced him.

But if he's back on drugs, or in no condition to play--or wouldn't play the songs as well as they could be played--would you really want a shitty reunion performance just for the sake of having Steven there? While he's not an original member, Matt doesn't have all the baggage and issues Steven does and has throughout his career consistently played well--and gotten much better with time.

I would prefer Steven, but If he was too fucked up to play then I wouldn't mind seeing Matt.

I don't think that Dizzy should be there, maybe only to play Estranged or something.

I genuinely like the three guitarists thing, so Slash, Izzy & Gilby would certainly not be a bad thing as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah that's fair enough like. Imo, it's not a reunion if the original members aren't there, but if it's gotta be Matt then it's gotta be Matt.

In my opinion. I would have Steven do the AFD/Lies songs and maybe Civil War. But have Matt tackle the UYI 1 and 2 songs along with any TSI? they plan to do live. That is how I would have the reunion. An no, I wouldn't mind having Dizzy there or have Gilby, Slash and Izzy play together on stage.

If you take away Dizzy, and let Steven also play Don't Cry, it would be exactly as I wanted.
