You CAN'T be serious. Using the words "Star" and "Buckethead" in the same sentence is a joke. And of course, with no disrespect intended, the same can be said for Ron. But the point is, the internet has skewed people's perception of "Stardom." Being a star basically means "How many random people on the street out of 100, would recognize a photo of a particular media personality? (TV/Movies/Music)"

Just because one person becomes completely enthralled with a musician and what they're seeing on their computer screen, doesn't make that musician a "Star."

If you wanna get down to brass taxes, Ron is more well known and respected in the industry than Buckethead. He writes music that these random people on the street have HEARD but don't KNOW IT. And I hate to break it to you, but due to him being well known and respected in the industry, Ron could have landed that Lita Ford gig without ever having been a member of Guns n' Roses.

Now let the onslaught of Charles Manson-like, Buckethead supporters commence.

your missing the point. im not saying buckethead is world famous or high profile. i went as buckethead for halloween a year ago and 80% of the people were like, who the fuck are you, 20% just yelled "buckethead!" and i was actually surprised that many people knew who i was.

when i say star, i mean buckethead has it. whatever it is. i think buckethead is special, and i think guys like robin and richard are just another guitarist. no offense to those guys, but its easier to replace them, or at least people tend to notice less.

a few of my friends are going to the show, they arent committed gnr fans but they like CD and are excited to go, they thought buckethead was going to be there. when i told them he wont, they were devestated. for a second i didnt think they were going to go, but they are still on board. they have seen ron, and yeah hes good, but they want to see the bucket. it the end its personal opinion, i know there are plenty who prefer ron to bucket, there is no denying that .i just think bucket has more potential as an attraction, people are going to remember bucket, as opposed to thal who is 'that guitarist'. i hope people get to know ron and appericate him, dont get me wrong, im just saying i think bucket is an easier sell.

house of blues 01' pre jungle people are screaming "BUCKETHEAD! BUCKETHEAD!". bootlegs are great. "yay, buckethead is playing!".
i havent heard any chants of "bumble" or "robin!!!", although i was thinking of starting a 1 man ashba chant in halifax. replacing slash, the guitarist should be memorable. assuming people are impressed they can say one of two things:

"man,buckethead was fucking awesome."
"man, that guy in the russian hat killed it, what was his name, thimblefoot?"

in the end its irrelevent. buckethead is gone and ron is great. i have full confidence in the band and cant wait for January.

The real question is, how is the band going to sound.

As long as Axl is on stage, 99 % of the audience won't pay attention to the "band".

And that is why Axl is glad BH and Robin are gone.
This band is just Axl and a bunch of no names now

The question is not anymore whether this deserves to be called GNR or not (we all know it's not GNR)
The question now is whether this is still a band or not
Imo nugnr doesn't even deserve to be called a band since the so-called GNR organization doesn't work as a band for many years

the only thing that doesnt exisist is .... your avatar, baby!!!

GNR was, is, and will be a band ... your poor opinion doesnt care

i agree bucket is the only new member with any sort of star power. not taking away frm the other guys, but bucket is a personality, wheras ron & co are just muscians (great ones).
to suggest axl is happy or purposly drove the rest away so he is the only one with star power is ridiculous. he tried desperatly to get bucket back. same with slash. jackie mooned.

thats almost as ridiculous as impyling robin was stealing axls thunder. are you fucking serious? your just saying sometihng negative for the sake of saying something negative.

Where to you come up with this stuff? Ron is not more well known and respected than BH, its the other way around.
More people have heard BHs work than Rons work. Hell BH was on the ghost of mars soundtrack with Robin not to mention was on the last action hero and saw II soundtrack just to name few.

BH has played with a ton of musicans in the industry, from Les Claypool to Sej from SOAD and dont forget Bill Laswell, to Bootsy Collins, Matt Patton, Iggy Pop to Paul Gilbert.. THe Chili Peppers and Ozzy even wanted him but did not take him because he would not take off the mask You say Ron has played with Lita Ford WOW, that is a rock star eh? The only big name you have ever seen around him was that Satch recommended himi to Axl because he did not want to join Gnr and for good reason.

Fact is not everyone knows who BH is, but even less know who Ron is.
No one even knew who Ron was until he was mentioned with guns n roses, while quite a few people knew who BH was even before he was mentioned with guns n roses.

You're welcome to pretend GNR still exists. After all, that is what Axl is doing too. :)

It don't make any difference to the past. Time sorts it all out for you. People will remember what GNR was. New GNR will merely be a footnote.
Nothing matters save the quality of the affection that has carved a trace in the mind.

If he sounds like he did at Rock Am Ring when I get to see them over here in jolly old England I would be liable to wetting my pants.
It's just a band, step back from the keyboard.

What it has to do with Guns N' Roses you should make up for yourself, but that's also not the topic here, so I don't really see the point why bringing that up.

I guess he will sound the same like he did in 2006/7 and that was pretty descent.

If it wasn't for GNR, no one (inluding music snobs) would know who buckethead is.
