Hey,

Since many of you think Axl ''can't do it'' without Slash, yet Slash can do it without Axl, I have to ask you guys--Would GN'R have been just as good or better without Axl ever even near GN'R? This is not what I feel, but I'd just like to extend the logic posited in the other thread by HRS--That Axl can't succeed without Slash, ever, but Slash can without Axl--to the next level.

Well the facts are GNR would not exist without Axl.
But i guess your saying if another singer took the place of axl in the beginning would they make it? I say no. Slash would find a great singer, which we probly know today as, other than axl. but say early GNR without Axl and some average joe Hell No.

No. Axl has a unique voice and a unique range that they could not have replaced.

Not nearly as good, both talent wise and popularity wise.

No of course not. Axl is equally important for that bands as Slash, Izzy, or Duff.

Nope they wouldn't have been as good... If the other four (Izzy, Slash, Duff, Steven) had formed a band with a different singer they would probably have been good, but there are very few frontmen that can rival Axl at his best, and I don't think they would've found one nearly as good. Izzy would probably have left anyway and then they would've been pretty fucked since Izzy and Axl are the two best songwriters of the bunch, but either way it's when you combine those five or at the very least three - Izzy, Axl and Slash - in songwriting that things really happen.

GNR is not GNR without Axl, Slash or Izzy. The proof is the last 18 years.

LMFAO, is that a fucking joke?
Guns N' Roses first of all, wouldn't even exist with out Axl Rose.
Secondly, just no. Guns would be nothing without him.

Sorry to say so, but seriously.
The frontman is a main focalpoint.

No, that you're even asking this just screams how you don't understand what people mean when they say "Axl can't do it without Slash n' Co"

No, Axl, no Slash, no Izzy, no Duff, no Guns N' Roses. end of discussion, those were the key players in defining their sound, without any one of them the band is missing a serious component. without three of them it isn't even the same band...

No GNR without Axl. No GN'R without Slash.

I think they needed everyone from the original line up to make it as big as they did. Everyone was important in his own way. THey all played a part

No. Guns needed at least Axl, Slash and Duff (performance wise) and needed Axl, Slash and Izzy songwriting wise. Taking one of them out of the equation would make something that isn't Guns N Roses.
