Irving Azoff and The Smiths' reunion Could this mean anything for GN'R?

Tabloid reports have claimed that The Smiths are considering reuniting for the Coachella music festival.

The 1980s indie band, which featured Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce, have been offered £2.8 million by organisers, according to The Sun.

Morrissey has repeatedly ruled out the idea of reforming the group during interviews, once claiming: "I'd rather eat my own testicles than reform The Smiths - and that's saying something coming from a vegetarian."

Rifts between the group developed further in 1996 when Joyce successfully sued Marr and Morrissey for unpaid royalties.

However, the singer's manager Irving Azoff is reportedly keen for the band members to resolve their differences.

"It has looked impossible in the past but suddenly it all looks like it could happen," said a source.

"The buzz around the people who used to work for the band is they could play Coachella for a ludicrous amount of money. It's closer than it ever has been. The split was a messy affair, but time's a healer."

I thought it was interesting because the scenario is very close to GN'R: Axl said he'd never do a reunion; he was sued by Slash and Duff for royalties or whatever; then Irving Azoff became the new manager.

Morrissey is an even bigger and more stubborn prick than Axl, so if a reunion with his band happens, then frankly I won't doubt anything.

I was just reading this wiki and found this gem..

He has also had disagreements with The Cure's Robert Smith, who stated "If Morrissey says not to eat meat, then I'll eat meat; that's how much I hate Morrissey"

Maybe that time when it was in the news that Axl had fired Azoff 3 times in one day was true. Maybe Axl fired him because he tried to push a reunion on Axl.

I don't think I'd forgive Azoff very easily if his agenda was to try and reform the old line-up.
