I have been a fan of Axl Rose and his music for 20+ years (wow big number - did I type that out loud....). I can barely believe that I have an opportunity to see him perform and have had difficulty functioning since randomly learining on Thursday about the tour via an unbelievable sequence of events. I've never joined a forum/blog before - and am here to be a part of a group who may also share interest and vent some of my excitement. Hope I'm not doing it wrong.

I search for news/feedback on axl and gnr in the past years and recently, and find mainly frustration and detest about - Chinese Democracy FINALLY coming out - and the tour FINALLY being scheduled - (IF he decides to show up) - the poor poor fans - how dare he not justify his actions - how could he use the gnr name - and so on. How is it that this, along with other unflattering snippits of information, be the sole public opinion crossing my path? Is it that my relatively remote US location has filtered out all things positive as it relates to axl and gnr and I'm simply surrounded by retards who hear this and then beleive and proliferate the nonsense to the next idiot and so on?

Stated simply, in my opinion Axl Rose owes me nothing.

I am blessed by the music, insights, and magic he's provided that has and continues to influence me. Lucky beyond belief that I have this chance to see him perform live. Gratitude is all I can offer.

What do you think? Should we as fans feel entitled to certain deliverables from Mr. Rose? If yes, what is due to you and why?

I would more than love to find out for myself about the man behind the myth and obtain a deeper understanding of the soul who has offerred so much....maybe in another lifetime.

Be well.

I love Axl as much as anyone...you guys can keep up all these "GO AXL" and these bullshit "AXL OWES US NOTHING" threads, but they're pointless really.

BOTTOM LINE, HE DOES OWE A LITTLE. HE DOES NEED TO COME OUT OF HIDING AND DO A BETTER JOB UPDATING THE FANS THAT ARE SPENDING THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY FOR TICKETS, MEMORABILIA, AND THE AMAZING MUSIC HE HAS PUT OUT!

No excuses...I'm not asking for a Twitter Page or a facebook but jesus christ....there's still no better video! theres FINALLY tour! the record took 15 years to put out....PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW WHY?!?!?! Axl can make any excuse he wants, maybe if he actually kept his fans up to date and announced that they were rehearsing, or had something lined up, and he just chooses not to...people would support him more instead of always siding with slash.

I'm a die hard axl fan too...but I can only back him up to a degree. I hope now he's finally got his shit together in his mind and is ready to commit to a tour, some videos, maybe an actual INTERVIEW that isn't online, etc. If he kept his fands more up to date and in touch with the band no ones seen or heard from in years, maybe people wouldn't be frustrated.

If you can't tour because of the economy, or something falls through...OK!! People can deal with that. It's the hiding and not talking parts that frustrate people. I know he likes pissing people off for the fun of it but then he whines that people are "pro slash", ofcourse they're not going to side with you, you don't update your fans!

"In a nutshell, personally I consider [Slash] a cancer and better removed, avoided -- and the less anyone heard of him or his supporters, the better."

Its far from entitlement, Axl isn't exactly innocent here

You have to take it all with a grain of salt. People have the right to voice their opinion with honesty, it isn't as if they expect Axl to react on their behalf, its just a bunch of huge fans of a rock band wishing things were different, better, more like they use to be. Because back then, GNR was the shit, and all those members left, all those years passed, and when the album finally dropped it was kinda underwhelming for a lot of people because we all seemed to share this notion that when Chinese Democracy came, GNR would be back in the spotlight, touring, releasing videos, getting fair radio play... none of that happened. What did we get? A few immature press releases putting down former members of the band we all love, then several months of nothing just like before.... oh and some tool from fucking Sixx AM replaced Robin. Its kinda bullshit

You really can't blame fans for thinking Axl is a dick, he just is... he's Axl Rose

yes he is Axl Rose  .....anything less would be the true dissapointment. (i.e. Axl Rose - panderer to whiny people who feel they are owed something by somebody else)

But I guess that is America today to a large degree - - doesn't mean I have to like it!

P.S. Anybody know how I could get piano sheet music for This I Love?

it's not that he owes...

it's more like he just doesn't do enough. Whether it's for us, for himself or for the GNR legacy, he just doesn't do enough...
"All these years later, he finally gets out there and he has two options:
Go and prove us all wrong, or screw it up. And he screwed it up, simple as that."
