Is Brain now a "former employee"? Did anyone explain what happened?

Didn't Brain mention earlier this year that he was rehearsing with the 'band'? I was just reading the highlights (if you can call it that) of the Ashba chat, and I see where Frank was mentioned as being the 'band's' drummer.

What happened between earlier this year and now that Brain is no longer taking part in the 3rd 'Chinese Democracy' tour? After Axl failed to show for rehearsals (for what would have been) a summer tour, did Brain finally have enough of the BS and just walk away? Is he still an integral part of NuGnR's behind-the-scene success ONLY? or was Axl forced to cut ties with him due to "other" contractual reasons?

I don't know about you all, but I think it would be nice if the 'band', or its management, would shed some insight as to when/ why these long time employees choose to leave the organization. It leaves the fan to question whether that employee left in Axl's good graces, or whether there was some behind the scene ugliness that 'they' would prefer not to publicize.

I'm pretty sure it's family related.

nobody really knows for sure except the band. Brain said he would be back with GNR when the album came out, and when it did he said he was rehearsing.... i dunno, something got fucked up....

i have a feeling axl really did want to do the whole '2 drummers' thing (which was retarded, brain would play the cd songs, frank the old songs) and one or both of them didnt want that (probably brain). and i guess axl likes frank, he sure as shit must, because he decided to keep him on board instead of getting someone good.

it really sucks though.... brain was the best drummer guns have ever had..... :(

edit: sweet tooth: he left in 2006 because his wife had a baby (i think), but he DID say he would be back when the album came out.... and he WAS rehearsing.... unless its unrelated to the wife/baby and someone else got sick? thats a good theory, actually....

He is in the band but in a studio capacity, like Paul Tobias.
It's just a band, step back from the keyboard.

He left the band during the 2006 tour because his wife gave birth.

I think he just can't come back now that Frank is here because Frank never was "just a Brain replacement".
He proved himself to be quite a dedicated drummer during the 2007 tour.
The fact that he re-recorded Brain's parts on the title track is quite a symbol !

Axl just can't tell him to get the fuck out after everything he did for the band.

Sucks because Brain is my favourite drummer of all time...

On the other hand, Frank has a way rawer approach to drums and that can't be bad if this lineup ever writes some new material.

Interesting. I didn't realize that it was common knowledge that Tobias is actively involved in current studio sessions.

Maybe Axl prefers someone that he can have all the tour than a drummer that quits everytime his wife calls him?

edit: i love brain's drumming. He said in the early 2009 months that he was rehearsing. But in the new rehearsels, he said that he wasn't going to tour (by email)

How the fuck is anyone supposed to know the answer to this question?????

Not only that but, who gives a fuck????? :scared:

I personally could care less who's playing the drums. :violin:

I'm not going to see a fucking GNR show to stare at the fucking drummer all night long. :chef:

I'm going to see Axl Fucking Rose do what only Axl Fucking Rose can do and that's put on a kick-ass fucking performance!!!!!

Yeah, absolutely. Please don't mistake my OP as me trying to suggest that anyone, aside from Axl, really matters anyway.

I think Brian can't afford to do tour because of family, he will work in studio I hope, but who knows this is Guns N' Roses, he can also be fired long ago.
Axl Rose is Guns N' Roses. Buy 'Contraband', 'Libertad' or listen to "When I Grow Up" for more information.

WTF does 'OP' mean???

The other people in the band definitely matter and contribute to the show no doubt about it. For me anyway, the drummer is way, way down the list for me as to who I'm going to be paying attention to at any show I go to. Now, if it was John Fucking Bonham, I'd be paying attention to that dude for sure.

Might be having a mental blank but have any members of new Guns ever been fired or have they just left?
