Dude, are you happy with your life? You seem to always be so angry and bitter about everything.

Dude, I don't like Jay Z, so I'm bitter? I think Jay Z is a moron, and I'm entitled to my opinion.

No, you're bitter because instead of saying that you merely dislike him, you claim he's a "moronic racist from a shitty genre" in between using homophobic attacks against Scott Weiland and Josh Homme and basically complaining about everything. You're never happy. You're the guy who created a million threads about how everything in the '80s was superior to modern counterparts.

This song would've been a smash hit if he had've released this video a lot earlier.

I love that song, my favourite one from Blueprint III. The video was decent, nothing special, but Alicia is pretty hot.

And Miser, shut the fuck up.

Why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away?
It was the only card in the deck that I had left to play

Finally a rap song that I'm able to enjoy again, but mainly because of Alicia's awesome performance... Cool song.

 How the fuck is Jay Z racist??

''I'm tired of white lies, my president is black"

Imagine what a white artist would be called if they said the reverse.

And yes, GNRIzzy, rap is a shitty genre.

Oh really let's see you try to come up with multis, punchlines, delivery, wordplay, personals, delivery and flow.

I don't usually listen to songs like that. Rap, hip-hop, whatever you call it. But I love this song. Saw it on the VMA's, and it stuck.

The video's pretty good too. Thank god for Alicia Keys. B)

Exact same thing that happened to me..
Alicia Keys & Jay Z really balance out eachother nicely

The Yanks winning the World Series was the best thing that ever could have happened for this song, as its become an anthem of sorts. I hear it everywhere now. Well played by Hov.

Blueprint III was pretty weak overall ("Hate" what the hell?). "Empire State of Mind" is certainly the best song on the album. Video is kind of half-assed. Especially compared to the other videos for the album.

No, just no. I can't see why everybody thinks this song is the shit. I don't like the beat at all and the chorus is horrible. Jigga's rhymes are partially good but kinda half assed.

It's an okay tune, nowhere near Jay-Z's best stuff.
"I hit the city and I lost my band / I watched the needle take another man / Gone, gone, the damage done. "

I think most would agree that Hova's best songs are behind him, but Blueprint 3 has a few standouts, this definitely being one of them. He still knows how to turn out hits after all these years. It's a great tribute to his hometown. I do agree with a previous poster, though, it's no "California Love" for the east coast.
