not adlers book. i love the guy but its going to be so full of shit it should come with a shovel.

like all the others haven't lied
I can't wait for Steven's book

Who do you think lied in their book?

well Slash has some lies in his.. his description of the St.Louis incident would be an obvious one.

but not sure what all the others you're talking about here...

Just curious, but what does everyone think Slash lied about in his book?

My favorite is Chinese Democracy Tab Book.

And the question still remains: how the hell does one play the riff to 'Riad N' The Bedouins'?

I'm not talking only about books and not just regarding Slash
I don't think any of them can claim to be 100% squeaky clean with the truth

The reason I dig Marc's so much is I like the old tickets, flyers, poster's photos etc

The Band that Forgot the Time by Paul Stanning, if you don't mind that it's just a collection of what you can find on the internet plus rypos then it's a great read.

Right now if I hadn't read Time I'd get Watch You Bleed but might wait until someone writes A Guide to Chinese Democracy.

its a first hand account. its slashs story. take it for what it is. as you would with the alder book, or axls book, if he ever finishes. its just one guys memory of events, its not written in stone.

even worse are the books like people by mick wall, paul stenning, ect. its speculation and accusation. they make their money by writing interesting and marketable books. it is what it is.

i think a written book by marc canter would be very good.he is the best source. he has the least to gain from it, he would be doing it for the sake of doing it, not profit, he is also probably the most netural source. that said, i dont think he would want to do it, get in the middle of it. who can blame him.

a tom zutat book would be interesting, i really liked his additions in the motley crue book, and outside perspective on things, pretty cool.

actually that would be amazing, a motley crue style gnr book, with the members trading chapters off. i liked that about the crue book, even tho they clearly contridicted eachother at every turn, actually that was the best part, it gave each members version of events for the same situations like:

tommy - vince was on a ego trip and freaked out at everybody for no reason at all...
vince - tommy was being fucking annoying and wouldnt leave me alone and i finally had enough and...

that sort of book seems to be the best case scenario. never going to happen but oh wellolz.

Reckless Road, Photos by George Chin, and Photographic History by Robert John.

The rest all suck. Band that time forgot is 95% inaccurate. And I'm not even going to bother getting into the others.
Who the fuck would even want a reunion?

That would be awesome but I can't see Axl and Slash agreeing to put their differences aside and write a book like that.

I reckon an Izzy book would be very interesting, he's not on either side so it could be really un-biased. But how awesome would it be to have Axl and Slash answer the exact same questions just to see how much they conflict.
It's just a band, step back from the keyboard.

I got Guns N Roses - In Their Own Words - for Christmas years ago, its the band members telling the story of the band from 1985-1993. Its a selection of direct quotes from every band member. About as close to the Motley Crue book that we're ever gonna get.
Jmapelian - i'll agree w/ the guy who said axl is bat-shit crazy

shutupandsing - And I'll agree with the first person that calls you a self-important little half-baked cunt cake.

Marc Canter's Reckless Road is fantastic and a must have for any real GnR fan. I think Marc should hold GnR tours for die hard fans - he could drive fans around L.A in a big black stretched Hummer with the AFD logo on the bonnet blasting 'Paradise City'. Maybe do a pub-crawl of the Rainbow bar and grill, the Whiskey, the Troubadour etc..., visit sites of interest, and show his personal collection of GnR memorabilia..... :) C'mon Marc, you know you want to...
