Cool idea for a thread, I think about this stuff occasionally....

When I think of what would've happened if Kurt Cobain hadn't died, my "theory" is that he would've continued making music with Nirvana until the whole grunge thing died out (because let's face it, it was going to die anyway lol) and then called it quits when it wasn't fun for him anymore. Of course he could call it quits in a different way than committing suicide but that's beside the point :P

One thing that's interesting to think about is that there probably would still be that whole rivalry between the guys in GNR and Nirvana if Cobain hadn't died. Since his suicide, Slash has played with Dave Grohl and so has Duff, also Krist Novoselic has made up with them too. Hell, Courtney Love even privately apologized to Duff about their criticism of the band, as well as Kurt's actions at the MTV thing in '92 (hey, Kurt should never have started with Axl, but that's just my opinion lol).

I just think if Cobain hadn't died then things wouldn't have gotten to the point where the guys from Nirvana are cool with the guys from Guns.

Kurt Cobain probably had another good album in him before he would have likely killed himself again due to the death of grunge.

What if this thread hadn't been created?

Then I'm sure we'd all be getting along nicely.

If Kurt Cobain didn't kill himself I think he would have made one more album with Nirvana and released it in '95. It would've gotten strong reviews, but sales would not have been as high as grunge was on it's way out. They would have done one more tour and then he would have split up the band. He would have gone on to release several offbeat solo albums to much critical acclaim but little commercial success. Dave Grohl's career would probably have followed the same path that it has in reality, the same for Krist. Courtney Love probably wouldn't have gotten into acting as her musical career would have continued with success with Kurt ghostwriting Hole's songs. They both would have probably died of a heroin overdose in the early 2000's.

Here's one: What if the Miami incident didn't happen? Do you think Jim still would've gotten worse in his drinking, drugs?
I think that his desent would've come eventually, but probably later. If Miami didn't happen and he went to Paris without that trial looming over his head, I think we would've gotten some good, dark poetry out of him, possibly more music. I also wonder if he would've persued filmmaking more.

What if Jim Morrison was ugly as sin?
I'm not saying that we could do better, but given the chance we'd try
We'd dig up the earth's timeworn soil and fill the trench with greedy eyes
