In 2006, I met a member of mygnrforum at the Toronto show. Well I didn’t really met him, I actually ran into him. He has Cerebral palsy and because of this he is in a wheelchair.
I’ll copy and paste something he wrote on a Facebook group :
“Recently on Saturday October 10th I was in Toronto coming home from an event and my friend and I had to take the dufferin train home. But from some unknown reason the Dufferin station is not wheelchair accessible and because of this and of course because no one offered to help my friend had to try and lift me and the chair down the stairs well he ended up losing his grip and i fell out of my chair and down the stairs. Luckily I didn't break anything i am just a little banged up. Because of me falling I am concerned, Saturday it was me falling but what if a mother with a baby in a stroller loses grip and her baby ends up falling down the stairs? The baby won't be able to protect it's self enough and could get seriously hurt.”
He created a Facebook group to get the city of Toronto know about his accident and come up with a solution so that it would never happens again to anyone.
After creating his group, 513 people joined in the first week. The city of Toronto heard about it and posted this on the TTC website:
http://www3.ttc.ca/A...rin_Station.jsp
Why am I posting this? I think it’s great that someone, especially one of our members, believe that he could change things and decide that no one could stop him.
For those who want to join his group and support him here’s the Facebook group link:
http://www.facebook....id=174145881941
I think it would be great if we could help him to get more people in his group to be sure that the city won’t back up.
I’m not naming the member since I didn’t told him I was going to post the story on the forum and I don’t know if he wants me to say who he is. He’ll do it himself if he wants to.

"Looks like Dufferin station is part of TTC's modernization project announced in 2007! The modernization including new elevators! Looks like work is set to commence late 2009/early 2010!
I do agree! All TTC stations should be wheel chair accessible!

so it could be on the way already

Why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away?
It was the only card in the deck that I had left to play

Im not sure how it is in Canada, but if that happenned here in the US, you can bet the city would be gettin sued. They would most likely offer your friend a nice cash settlement as well as making all stations wheelchair accessable

Can you pass it on that 'Ol Spunko supports him but doesnt do facebook please.
incidentally I watched the film Grizzly Man the other day and I have a question, does your average Canadian really talk in that accent like that? because if they do I dont know how you could ever get anything done without laughing.
shutupandsing - And I'll agree with the first person that calls you a self-important little half-baked cunt cake.
