This is our year to be humongous underdogs. Nobody respects Minnesota sports because frankly, we always suck. However, Gopher basketball is on their way to the top. We have college basketball legend Tubby Smith on our side, and he has recruited across the nation, including Hopkins Minnesota which usually wins international tournaments every year. I am excited, there's nothing better (besides NFL and college football) than college basketball. The difference between the NBA and college basketball is everything. The playing styles are different and the competition is different. Two words; March Madness.
Anyone excited, anyone have a team that could make it to the top?

I am excited this year because the school I am at is finally in a conference at the Division 1 level. My University of South Dakota Coyotes were voted inaugural champions to the Great West Conference desptie this being the first season. This conference is going to be so bad, it is just a bunch of independent teams rounded up, and 11 years from now (at the earliest) the winner of this conference will get an automatic bid to the tournament (garunteed to be the last team in). It is cool that we are finally in a Division 1 conference, but I am very grateful that next year we get to move to the Summit and actually have a shot at the tourney.
Also, underdogs dont get ranked 17 in the preseason poll.

I wouldn't have entered this thread if the ALL-CAPS didn't pull me right in.
Kyle Singler will single handedly annihilate NCAA basketball.

Excited about Cincinnati this year. Should be able to get back to the tournament and make a bit of a run in it, especially if Lance Stephenson is eligible. His status is suppose to be announced today. Right now the speculation is he'll have to sit out three games (which includes two exhibitions). If eligible, I'm expecting a top five finish in the Big East. Without him, probably around seventh or eighth, but still enough to make the tourney.
Thanks coma2k for the sig
