Your maths is way out buddy.
As you can see, the thresholds are different for each country.

Riverside, muthafucka.

It may not have sold as much as Best Buy and many fans expected it to, but it also sold better than many people predicted it would.
The fact is, in this day and age, that the U.S. and global sales of this record are nothing to sneeze at.
The Good News is:
The fans got the record & Axl and the record company got paid.
The only real losers were Best Buy - I was there over the weekend and they had 144 copies of the disc on display ($9.99 ea.).
The most disappointing part is the lack of impact the record had (at least here in the States).
I heard the title track on the radio twice last November. Other than that - nothing.
Compare Chinese Democracy to it's neighbors in the U.S. top ten the week it came out: Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, The Killers, etc., many of which are still sitting comfortably in the top 100 nearly a year later, and you see a stark contrast.
Will the sales of Chinese Democracy have a factor in whether or not Axl releases another record? I doubt it.
I think Axl will do whatever he feels like doing.
Nice maths though, dude.

It's true that it hasn't sold as fast and as many copies as say the illusion albums, but that was a different era, this album has sold really well and if the tour is a success it's only going to sell more, anyone who thinks Geffen/Universal are dissapointed with the amount of sales is crazy!

The title sounds good. Haha

¨What would you say
If I told you that I'm to blame¨

They really went for the cliched flop story. It was just the most controversial story to write.
I don't think it was a flop.
Like wasted just said above me, the media in the States and elsewhere, really did go for the cliched flop story.
It's bullshit because it's a really good album. I love it and I'm really glad it finally got released.
Even Duff and Slash after hearing it both said many times and that it was a really good album.
A helluva lot better than most of the newer shit that gets overplayed on the radio.
In the end I'd say that the thing that hurt Axl in terms of sales of CD was the total lack of
That was a
I've seen better promotion of fucking "Sham-Wows" than I saw for CD for fuck's sake..
That's the joke and it really hurt the overall sales of CD.
Maybe the record label refused to pay for it and expected Axl to pay for all of the promo stuff???
Who knows.

More like Axl didn't want to do eet.
There are a number of things Axl could have (and still could) do that wouldn't cost any money.
-Do an interview with a major publication like Rolling Stone, Spin, etc.
-Appear on any number of television programs.
-Upload a video to YouTube :faceplam:
-Play an intimate "surprise" gig somewhere.
etc.
etc.
etc.
IMO, the blame for lack or promotion lies 100% on Axl Rose.
You can't labor for 10 years on an album and then go into hiding when it's finally released and blame "the record company."

I've never even claimed or said once, that I know what's going on with Axl.
Neither should you. Only Axl knows the truth. Fuck the speculation.
How in the world can you put blame on Axl for 100%???
How did you tally up that nice round figure anyway?
Did Axl suddenly phone you up out of the blue one day and tell you personally that it was 100% his fucking fault???
C'mon man. You have no idea like the rest of us and you probably never will.

That is terrible.
Its like saying a movie that made 80m but cost 200m to make is a success.
CD is far from a success.
