I'm never one to side with egomaniac frontmen, but if I were in Steven Tyler's position, I'd probably want to quit too. Aerosmith has been touring virtually nonstop since 1997. The longest period they've had between tours has been no more than six months..

1997-99: Nine Lives Tour
1999-2000: Roar of the Dragon Tour
2001-02: Just Push Play Tour
2002: Girls of Summer Tour
2003: Rocksimus Maximus Tour
2004: Honkin' on Bobo Tour
2005-06: Rockin' the Joint Tour
2006: Route of All Evil Tour
2007: World Tour 2007
2009: Aerosmith/ZZ Top Tour

The band is completely in the wrong over this one. It's not 1975 anymore. If — at 61 years of age — Steven Tyler needs a break, you give him a fucking break and spare the melodrama of trying to make it seem like he's committing a cardinal sin. This routine of saying they're going to get a replacement singer, and now speculating in their interviews that Steven might be on drugs again is the most backhanded thing imaginable. I thought it was pretty bad when Joe Perry referred to Tyler as a mere "acquaintance" after their little reunion gig in New York City, but this takes the cake..

Fucking drama queens. You don't talk about your suspicions over someone's drug addicitons behind their back to the press... after knowing them for like 40+ years. Either split up and deal with it or shut up and take a break.

I still haven't seen them actually. Damn. :(

Oh boo hoo, aerosmith talked bad about tyler. thats right, the ENTIRE band is taking unfair shots at steven tyler.

Lets look at the facts:
Yeah, they've been touring for years, but they haven't been playing 3 gigs a week on those tours, it's been maybe 1 or 2 a week.
No new albums of material has come out of aerosmith since 2004, an album of covers meant to passify us, not to mention the lackluster album before that, just push play
Steven Tyler hasn't talked to the band in years, which is the dumbest thing ever. If they could talk to steven tyler about the drugs, they would, but they cannot, is the point. They go to the media when the media hounds them like hell, aero fans are getting impatient, etc.
