how did you get into gnr and what was the first song you heard?

well, for me, i was sitting next to this guy on the school coach while in france on a school trip i mid 2004. he had his walkman. i didnt really know him, but i sat next to him because there were no seats left. he said 'have you heard this song before?' and put an earphone in my ear. the beginning of sweet child o mine played and i though 'wow thats excellent!' and i said 'who is it?' 'guns n roses' came the reply. me and that guy have been best friends ever since.

lol! how did this thread get moved to the Budapest thread?

on topic though, my friend played a song from AFD (forgot which...) when i was over at his house one day about 11 or 12 years ago... then i was hooked!

Seeing the Ritz 88 show.........and maybe the VMA's 88 when they played Jungle the band just sounded amazing then

I think anyone who hears just one of GnR's songs instantly loves them....I stilll wish i knew which song was first played to me...to young to even know.
