anyone a member? I am going through some old stuff and I came across this, I remember I signed up for it for 1 year and I am pretty sure I was supposed to get a Newsletter every 4 months and I got this 1 newsletter and I never heard back from them, kind of makes sense if you look at the timeline as this was dated from May 9, 1996 and Slash left in October and maybe the band went into a disarray and they stopped sending them and making them, anyone know if they made any after this Volume 1 issue 3? anyone have any of the previous 2 Newsletters? it is odd though I received this in May 1996, and looking at the "Language of Fear" thing it talks about a contest and the entries have to be received by February 1995 and the discography says compiled November 1994 and Sympathy for the Devil was released in December 94 so I am guessing they just sent me an old copy.

Thanks for finding it and sending it, @MillionsOfSpiders ---------------- [...] [On the Motley Crue biopic and the possibility of a Guns N’ Roses movie]: Slash: I thought the Motley movie was great. Actually, I just saw it a couple of days ago, and it really took me back to the early days in the 80's all the way through their career, because I just remember everything that sort of happened along the way. And then it gave me an insight, sort of internal details that I wasn’t really aware of. But I thought that came out great. I wouldn’t want to do a Guns movie like that. I couldn’t imagine trying to find somebody to play the different members of the band (laughs). It just doesn’t even seem possible. But I think we have a lot of concert footage from the 90's in the can, like 24/7 footage from 1991 to 1994 of just every day on the road with Guns N’ Roses, and it’s been sitting in a vault for years. I would love for that to be edited at one point and put out. So we’ll see if that ever happens. [On “Leaving Neverland” and the new Michael Jackson controversy]: Slash: I can’t weigh in on that. I haven’t seen it. I mean, I was on the road in Europe and there was some talk of what the movie revealed and so on, but I can’t really make any kind of statement about it, because I haven’t seen it yet. And it’s been really quiet since that initial release, so I’m not really sure. [On the plans for the rest of 2019]: Slash: After South America, we'll go straight to Europe and do the festivals over there. And after Europe, we'll go back to the States and Canada to do our first Canadian tour plus some U.S. dates; and that goes until August. Then, after that, I’m gonna hook up with Guns N’ Roses. Guns N’ Roses has a small tour in October. And then, you know, there’s been so much talk about the Guns N’ Roses record, which we haven’t actually done anything with (laughs); so we’re gonna sort of focus on that. And the Conspirators will be some time coming up, depending on what Guns N’ Roses is doing, but I’ve already started putting together material for the new Conspirators record. -------------- I have transcribed all the interview here: http://www.a-4-d.com/t3818-2019-04-05-futuro-88-9-fm-chile-interview-with-slash#14101 Original source: https://www.futuro.cl/2019/04/slash-no-me-gustaria-ver-una-pelicula-de-guns-n-roses-como-la-de-motley-crue/

I'll start with two: 1) I prefer Don't Cry (Alt Lyrics) over Don't Cry. 2) I think Chinese Democracy is some of Axl's best work.

I just posted this in the the "There Will Never Be Another GN'R Album" thread, but the mods, admins and I thought it might be good to have a thread discussing all of the rumors that keep bubbling around lately. Here's the post I made in the other thread which seems like a good starting point for this new thread: Just an FYI for everyone-There seem to be more than the usual amount of rumors being shared here and elsewhere lately. I've personally heard everything from "New studio album coming with an announcement in January!" to "there's a live album coming with some bonus studio tracks" to "the only thing coming is a live album and a studio cover or Witchitaw Lineman" to everything in between. The sources on these things range from the semi-reliable; "this guy was right about (insert rumor here) in the past" to the ridiculous; "a guy from another board knows a guy who told him".Either way, I'm hoping where there's smoke there's fire. I would LOVE for a new studio album from GNR to be in the works and for it to be released in 2019. Personally, I have zero interest in a live album and/or a few studio tracks. I would really, really want a full, new, studio album from GN'R but that's just me.Most importantly, I'm just hoping something happens. The most frustrating part of these situations is when nothing actually happens. Then our "insider" and "folks in the know" get to fall back on the "Well, that was the plan but things changed" excuse which is so tired and played out already.

I don't understand why so many people get upset over GnR doing a show? Because it has grown old or boring? Realistically what could you possibly be doing on a Saturday night in September that is better than seeing Guns n Fucking Roses live. Have a drink at the show and have fun. That's what life is about, enjoying it and having fun. If a GnR show isn't enough for you than go do something else with your time and stop complaining Axl, Slash and Duff all said new music is coming and i have no reason not to believe them. I just hope there is a tour date closer to me.

It was cringey when NuGuns did it, and it was just as bad when they did it in 2016. I thought it brought some of the 'Vegas tackiness' from the residency shows to the 2016 shows. It's cheesy as hell to see strippers behind some 50+ year olds on a nostalgia tour. That's the kinda shit I'd expect from Motley Crue

I dont get some of you so called fans. Most of us fans support the dying breed of Rock N Roll music. Today its all EDM music and festivals built to attract social media influences to take a snap of themselves at a festival because its cool and hip. When the major headline from Coachella is Ariana Grande having a lemon thrown at her by a Beyoncé fan because of an issue they have, you know the music industry is in trouble. Any chance offered to embrace and support Rock N Roll, with our favourite band appearing is a good thing in my eyes.

During an appearance earlier today (Friday, February 22) on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation", Duff McKagan said that a new GUNS N' ROSES album could happen in the not-too-distant future, remarking: "I heard some new material and there's been some jams going around, and that's the next step for us, for the GN'R thing." Asked by host Eddie Trunk "how real" the potential is for a new GUNS N' ROSES record, Duff replied: "Oh, it's real. But the fun part and the cool part about GUNS N' ROSES is we don't really talk about it, and what happens next just happens. It's never been that band that there's a direct schedule of how we do things." He continued: "I've heard some magnificent stuff that Axl [Rose, vocals] has — really cool stuff he'd been working on. So I'm excited about the possibilities with that, of course. I don't mean to get anybody rabid. [A new GUNS N' ROSES album] will happen when it happens, that's for sure." McKagan also said that he was surprised by the massive success of GUNS N' ROSES' "Not In This Lifetime" tour, which lasted for two and half years. "Anytime I play a gig, if there's three people in there, I'm, like, 'Wow! They came to see me play,'" he said. "Nothing's changed. I'm just always so grateful and astonished. Some of these gigs we played, a lot of 'em — most of 'em, if not all — were astonishing how many people came and were so into it." http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/duff-mckagan-says-axl-rose-has-come-up-with-some-magnificent-stuff-for-new-guns-n-roses-album/?fbclid=IwAR1d_JZGlL-2o7baaQM-MpsWqzbLTQi-_c7I8eVZ9OlV-4o3g7Cl5FQG4P0

Slash recently spoke to Japanese music critic and radio personality Masa Ito of TVK's "Rock City" about the possibility of a new studio LP from GUNS N' ROSES in the not-too-distant future. "Axl, Duff, myself and Richard have all talked about… there's material and stuff going on already for a new record," he confirmed (see video below). "It's just, with GUNS N' ROSES, you don't go, 'Oh, there is a plan, and it's gonna be like this,' because that's not how it works. So, basically, the only real answer to give is we're hoping to put a new record out, and we'll just see what happens when it happens." FULL TRANSLATE

This is our 11 wedding anniversary. We were supposed to celebrate in Firenze but my wife's been terribly sick for the last 2-3 months so we couldn't travel. Good thing is that she's been good for the last few days so we are hoping that we will be able to travel to my parents for Eastern, at least. Firenze can wait. 11 years . 11 good years. It tends to get supplanted by the tediousness of routine. Pressures at work. Kids. Family. But today we have the evening for ourselves. We are finally alone. We don't expect much. We don't take anything for grated. really. Not with her disease, but maybe just an embrace on the couch and watch some stupid shit as I get steadily more drunk. Just being together with nothing else on our minds than us. And just being happy because she is getting better.

Slash gave another interview to a German newspaper. https://www.zeit.de/kultur/musik/2019-03/guns-n-roses-slash-gitarrist-interview/seite-3 The last two questions were: Until mid August you're on world tour with SMKC. Do you have plans for the time after that? Slash: when I'm back home, I will sit down with the guys in guns n roses and focus on a new record. You haven't worked on it yet? Slash: No, but I know everyone involved wants to do this record. We're talking about it and Axl already has a ton of material which he produced himself. I think we're in a phenomenal form to get started.

At a GNR show I was sat next to a group of women, a real "ladies night' vibe. Got chatting with one and she looked at her watch and said "its about to start!" I mentioned the late starts and she got mad at me - like shooting the messenger. Got all in a huff and got her group in a tizzy. They decided to leave instead of wait. They abruptly got up and filed out, each one hitting me in the face with their ass and hand bag. About 20 minutes later the show started

Ok - reading all these posts about the VMAs has me thinking back to Las Vegas December 31, 2000. This was a fun night. Backing up a little here, I had decided to fly to Las Vegas on my own as a 22 year old to see the return of Axl Rose. I was (and still am) a huge GNR fan at the time and spent a lot of my time on the Guns N Roses newsgroup (who remembers newsgroups?) and decided to stay with two guys that I met from the newsgroup: Dennis and Bob. My friends thought I was crazy to stay with people who I never met before especially considering the internet was much newer back then. However, there were so many of us diehard fans at the time that we had formed a strong bond it seemed. When I arrived in Vegas I met Dennis and Bob and three of us met up with the other fans that we had all been chatting with in the months leading up to the show (Ravi, John M, Jan, etc). We had a few drinks and then lined up for what seemed like 8 hours talking and most importantly standing (securitiy wouldn’t let us sit!) and finally we entered at around 3:30am and the show started. What a cool experience. My biggest regret is at the end of the show Axl slammed down his mic and it bounced right into my chest and I didn’t catch it. I looked on the ground for it and it was gone! The purpose of my post is first and foremost to see if any of these old fans are still around. I’d love to see replies from you. I also met a local Toronto fan (Vangie) and would also often talk to Rattus and John Mac. who had an awesome band in London ON I believe. There was also a dude named APoet from Louisiana I believe. Are any of you fans still here? Also Jeff Boreio (sp?) was the admin of the newsgroup at the time. Id also love to hear stories from other fans who were there that night. One of the best nights of my life! 🤟 Andrew

According to Kenneth Ramone in facebook group "The Mysterious Axl Rose Society", Axl Rose appeared as a "special guest" in a new episode of Looney Tunes singing a brand new song called "Rock The Rock". He said that "his voice was in great form" and that he recorded all of it. Kenneth took the photos and did the post with the info.

This sort of tough guy shit gets me down. The leading cause of death in men aged 20 to 30 is suicide. This sort of attitude of basically telling people to harden up is a huge issue in society. Depressed? Just cheer up. Anxious? Don't worry about it. This attitude belittles mental health issues and leads to people feeling that a condition they have, often caused by a chemical imbalance, is their fault. It's so easy to sit at a computer and be a macho man about these issues but you're really just displaying a major lack of understanding. A little bit of empathy wouldn't go astray - try to understand the difficulties other people can have in life. Just comparing Axl to other musicians who handle things better is not reasonable. People deal with things differently. Check out www.beyondblue.org.au Might be time to update your thinking. Can't speak for others but your tough guy act is pretty unimpressive to me.

It's easy for some of us to sit behind a screen and type that sort of oorah stuff, but a lot harder to put it into practice. Now, let me preface what I'm about to say by admitting that I prescribe to the whole "confront and conquer" way of doing things. It's the way I've always done everything in my personal life. But I also understand that genetics and life circumstances play a heavy roll in my ability to do so. Axl Rose was an un-medicated, manically depressed teenager/young man who was raped by his father and persecuted by most of his family. He dropped out of high school and hitchhiked across the country before he was even a legal adult. Raised by the streets. Did gallons of drugs... you get the picture. He was about as far away from "mentally sound" as a person can get. By all accounts, he shouldn't even be alive. The guy even tried to kill himself once (could have been more, we don't know) by swallowing a bucket of pills. He was a mental headcase, with an itch for death. People like that? People who are mentally fucked up beyond all recognition? They don't see things like you do. Their reality is vastly different. It's not possible for most of those people to "wake up" and get their shit together. If they do, it's usually a case of luck.

He wishes he had MORE time?! Fuck me Axl, if everyone did everything based on whether or not they felt 100 million percent comfortable then nothing would ever get done, you think fighters feel 100% comfortable during a ring walk, or football players 5 mins before kick off? Of course not but y'know what they show up and put a shift in cuz of this word called professionalism. 'work on himself', fuck that new age hippie shit, the way you work on yourself is you work and then after a lifetime of said work you have a body of work to look back on so when its REALLY time to reflect, in the nursing home with the pissbag strapped to your thigh, you can cast your mind back and go, OK, what was all that about? Then turn to the body of work and cultural contribution and go 'right, yeah, THATS what that was about'. And that applies for everybody, from lead singers to shelf stackers, we're all fuckin' cogs in the overall machinery of society, if every shelf stacker in the world wanted to sit inside with a big bag of weed and a TV lisence to 'work on' themselves before they felt right to go out and fuckin' put a shift in there'd be some empty fuckin' shelves across the planet in much the same way that if every artist worth his salt stayed indoors working on themselves and reached their fuckin' 60s having released what amounts to 3 full albums (albeit one quite large one out of that) and an EP well then our culture would be a lot less richer one.
