By now I'm pretty much convinced they keep making Terminator movies just to fuel baseless GnR's rumours.

I disagree completely, Hard School is proof all of the best material wasn't included on Chinese. I take HS over Scrap, Riad & If the world any day, by far. Even Shackler. It may actually be in my top 3 CD era songs as of now. The General sounds extremely promising from what I've figured the cell phone clip. Still curious about the rest. I'm just surprised that many songs were actually almost finished by early 2001. This lineup was extremely productive.

Re-worked "Hardschool" for new Terminator? Now that'd be something ...

I love the 3.5 hour shows, whats the hurry your already at the arena why would you want to go home sooner.

It's depressing isn't it? It actually makes me wonder why I still care at all. And everytime I actually hear a leak or a song that's new for me, I'm not exactly blown away by the material. It's mostly just "okay". All this talk about the "big guns" still being unreleased 10 years ago... I'm starting to think the songs on Chinese Democracy were actually his best songs. When you think about it, why wouldn't he release his best material? He had something to prove... Even though I'm still here, for some reason I'm starting to believe this is it. Nothing groundbreaking will happen. We might get to hear Thyme or Atlas at some point, but it will be a song from a forgotten era... Meh.

My favorite is when someone posts it, I remove the post and send them a PM explaining why they're post was removed, they read it, then post the same thing again. That's the highlight of each and every day for me lol I actually need to dig further into the latest IRS leak. I heard it a few times but haven't really dug in to notice all the biggest differences between the album version and the latest leak.

The past few weeks have been a testament to Evader though, it seems like his mix of The General is so good at least one new person per day discovers it and goes "guys The General has leaked"

Shes got more thanos 500 000 following her Channel. I wrote her and asked for a GNR reaction, and she answerd an put out The video a about 1 weekend later.

I agree, I would hope this defeatist, I don't want to hear any new music, point of view is a small minority. I mean c'mon, using this logic, no band with members over 35 would be releasing new music. What a sad world that would be.
  11. 3 points
Nice post, i'll second pretty much all of that though the reunion wouldn't bother me if there was new music going on. Because like I said, I don't see another vocal resurrection from Axl and every year that goes by means whatever music we do get ain't gonna sound great live. I wish more than anything that Bucket had stayed and Rio/Lisboa '04 had gone ahead with the album out shortly after. Axl. Bucket, Robin and Brain could have done anything.

Don't forget: - If you have found a "new leak", it is definitely Stephen Chesney/Chad Atkins
  13. 3 points
...and gave some details of about the new album: He has 36 songs practically finished (one dedicated to John Lennon, another about child abuse), and there is a possibility that the album be double (like UYI). One would be called Chinese Democracy and the other PRL

Man, I am really digging the Riad demo. I think the ultimate version would be this demo + the BBF solo.

It'd be neat if they did have something planned for the next Terminator flick. Since this film is being sold as a direct sequel to T2, it'd make sense to bring GNR along for the ride. If that's the case, then they'd absolutely play it at the upcoming shows. I've been holding out hope that this is what Slash was doing at Axl's studio last spring.

17 Tory rebels. That will be a majority of 16 then as Kate Hooey will definitely vote against the motion. Probably 1-2 more from Labour also. I suspect it will pass with a circa 15 majority. - Emily Thornberry has been on the pies. Her face is now so fat she is developing Chinese eyes. - Laid back bugger,

I would love to see Axl writing his vocal lines a bit differently on new material. Fewer words, more organic. Stuff you can sing in a live situation without killing yourself. And they should definately shorten the live shows, it's all too bloated anyway.

Just saw the post of a rumor that read “ GnR approached for song on T3 soundtrack 💥Rumour💥 A source who was working On Terminator dark fate has informed that 4 members of guns n roses went to a private viewing of a rough copy of the upcoming Arnold Schwarzenegger sequel movie to see if they want to put a song on the soundtrack. Apparently, Slash was at axls house to record overdubs on a song for the rush release. At this point the song name is unknown. But yes 100% verified. Guns n roses new music. http://www.gnrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?pid=320334#p320334 ” definitely taking this one with a grain of salt

Song like Anastasia, Bad Rain, You’re A Lie, and World On Fire all kick Hardschool’s ass imo. That’s not to say that Hardschool is bad, mind you, I just don’t like it as much as those other songs I mentioned. It has potential, but needs work, whereas the other songs I mentioned above (Anastasia in particular) have some of the best guitar I’ve ever heard Slash do... duff is probably a shit songwriter these days tho. That I’d probably have to agree with. How To Be A Man has a cool melody, but the lyrics are corny as hell. That song gave me PTSD flashbacks of So Fine!

You are a true fan man. Always thought so. I've had a hard time accepting Axl reuniting. As of now, I don't care for it. Like, I don't give a fuck about the reunion and I have little faith in the upcoming album on technical terms. I'm sure Axl will sound great and I will listen to it day one, but I think the instrumental will be disappointing if Bucket & Robin are left out. I know it will sound crazy to some people who are more into the appearance than into the true quality of things, but I really don't care for Slash & Duff. I really have no faith in their abilities to write quality material as of 2019. They were relevant in the 80's/early 90's. But times have changed. Some people will call me crazy but Hard School, as far as I'm concerned, blows away anything I've heard from Slash & Duff material-wise in the last 10 years. I love the old school GN'R material, but I have to admit I love the CD material more. I'm just very sensitive to Bucket & Robin's abilities, and I find it miraculous those two were ever in the band at the same time, with fucking Axl Rose fronting that band. How crazy is that? Like really? Robin is kicking asses with NIN, but Axl > Trent any fucking day. And I absolutely LOVE Trent. No bias. He's an amazing musician, vocalist and writer. He's even superior to Axl in some ways. But Axl as a whole, is the fucking real deal. I really consider Robin & Bucket as better musicians than Slash & Duff, by far. I remember Axl saying at some point all of this was like comparing football or basketball teams from a certain era and everyone's gonna have their favorite. He was completely spot on. It's exactly what I'm feeling. I've always rooted for a certain CD lineup (with Buckethead & Robin, and now I even prefer having Josh Freese on the drums over Brian Mantia, crazy). Also, the lyrics, the words... they have a meaning. I don't buy those CD songs when Axl sings them with Slash & Duff. It's obvious to me a lot of what he's written on CD was directed to Slash & Duff. So it makes absolutely no sense to hear Axl sing some CD tracks live next to Slash & Duff, especially a song like "Sorry". Then again, I'm happy Axl settled things with Slash. It's cool. It gives the right message to a lot of people. For that alone, the reunion had to happen as the world is getting stranger and crazier every day. But from a pure musical point of view... I feel Axl needed to be angry & disappointed & betrayed to write his best lyrics and sing his best. Just being honest here, I know it sounds harsh. He's at his best when he's depressed. Which is the case of any true artist. You only write your best material when there's a urge, when you're fucked, when you're desperate, when you're anything but happy. Given what he's given to us, I prefer for him to be happy and be given mediocre material than the contrary, obviously. But I really hope we get the CD vault at some point. Seems more interesting than anything upcoming/new. And I really don't want to hear Slash replacing Bucket parts, please. He won't cut it. He doesn't have the talent. And more than that, Slash has been a fucking liar for years. I won't forgive that personally. He has no guts. I can't dissociate the artist from the human being. He's trash.

I don't know man, maybe because they didnt want to give the real deal? Maybe because this one was indeed from the Bumblefoot batch, but they erased his guitar-only channel? This shit is so weird. I feel I'm too old for this drama again.
  24. 2 points
Nothing yet but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Tobias tune for the most part. He had a hand in Back Off Bitch and it's not miles away from that in feel. It certainly dates back to when he was in the band in the mid-late 90s although there are some riffs on it which sound like Robin with the suspended chord voicings.

Finally saw it the other night. I thought it was great. Very different from his other films, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Surprised that this was his most lighthearted film to date.

Can you guys please stop giving the time of day to obvious attention whores? Literally nothing stopping any jackass from making a mysterious username and spamming GNR boards/subreddits with bullshit information. This is "my uncle works at Nintendo" levels of nonsense.

I'm clinging on to dear hope that there's still some Buckethead gems left for future releases. I just don't want Slash butching his work.
  28. 2 points
Lol at anyone putting any amount of faith into the person obviously messing with everyone. If and when something else of importance leaks it 1) won't come with a bunch of attention seeking shenanigans and 2) definitely won't be leaked by the guy who has nothing left to leak outside of yet another version of Silkworms, which a total of zero people care to hear.

Dear Axl, You're rich. I'm not. Yet, I am willing to give you money. Release a boxset of the CD demos. I will pay $$$ for this. Just empty the locker - Beavan demos, RTB demos, all the unreleased stuff. The lot. What a fascinating way to showcase the most fascinating period of this band. While stopping the leaks, profiting a little from music that, it seems, will end in the public domain anyway, and reward your hard-core fans. The average fan won't even realise this stuff has been released, so no legacy tarnished. The "Axl Rose Solo Band / original 5 or nothing" fans can choose to listen or not as they see fit (and history cannot be re-written, whatever anybody says). But us, the passionate fans of the "CD era" will be hugely rewarded. Look at us - scrapping around talking about leaks / demos of songs from 20 years ago (that, incredibly, were recorded only 10 years after UYI). Yet... Its fascinating. And something to be proud of. Fantastic music.

Guns N Roses releasing an album sounds preposterous. Something that never happens will suddenly happen at some predetermined period of time? You should all know better than that by now......

Personally, I think they really need to overhaul the set list and touring schedules going forward. Less is more is definitely the case - would much rather fewer shows at a slightly shorter runtime to give best chance at strong vocals as opposed to what was happening in late 2017/18. Other bands of similar age etc do the same - and folk have had ample time to catch them on the tour. If the schedule etc is the same going forward it cannot lend itself to being good vocally - regardless of old or any new stuff.

Gotta disagree there. In November '08 he said Robin's work in CD2 was done and hoped to release in November 09. We got the tracklist we did because of the leaks. I'm confident CD2 would have been what he said: if you like Chinese you'll like the next. Meaner sections ahead. I also think he's likely worked on more in the last decade. But after all the leaks that shit is on lock down. Definitely no way the record company heard let alone have copies of anything. Given how much he's compromised and walked back on everything he said (from saying in the 02 letter that working with alumni would be a prison sentence to saying reunion was always an option) I wonder if he's looked back at any point from '99 and thought he could have done anything differently to have gotten stuff out and kept the Bucket, Robin etc lineup together.

Rotten called him, and I quote, a 'typical Manchester gobshite' during his interview on The Word.

Wow. Why alter a clip before leaking it tho? What purpose does that serve?
  40. 1 point
I think I'm gonna pass on this one, really not interested in nitpicking on it. I do remember hearing Bach's backing vocal in Sorry and felt it was compressed and autotuned. Can't remember a lot of Axl's vocals like this, tho. The point is: if it's not noticeble (or at least, "passable") in the mix with every other instrument, what's the big deal? Are we judging this autotune based on the final mix or just the isolated vocals? Those are 1999 recordings of his voice. For whatever reason, he didnt want to rerecord it all and would rather fix the tune of any fuckup instead. I really don't see a problem with that. We all know what he is (or at least waws) capable of in good conditions.

It's because of stuff that's been said about The General. Axl said it's the sequel to Estranged, which is a fan favourite epic, so obviously people expect a lot from that. And Sebastian Bach and MSL said it was heavy and with mean vocals or something similar. And it's been said time and time again that Axl wanted to release a trilogy. So it makes sense not to waste all your big guns on one of the three. They withheld Don't Cry to, for example. So The General not being on CD doesn't say anything about its quality. They withheld Hardschool too, and most on here like or love the demo that's leaked. But of course only the people who have heard it know for sure if it's as great as many expect it to be, and some will like it and others won't.

Acting like you're somehow above other fans is pretty pretentious. Which is what that post was all about, IMO. The user seemed to feel the need to remind us all how much more educated they were on music. They were probably oretty embarrassed when a bunch of users argued all of their points though. If @ZoSoRoseis guilty of anything, it's that he's late to the party in pointing out what a ridiculous post that was seeing as a bunch of others already did it.
