  1. Copyright Strikes....

Yeah, and it's so funny to me (in a bad way) that the people trying to make excuses for TB and their associates don't have any clue about that aspect of the story. TB has aligned themselves with people who post actual hate and rascim. They've also aligned themselves with people who leak material while taking down live videos and claiming they're acting on be behalf of the band while doing so. Those are facts that have been bubbling under the surface for quite some time. TB have been able to (slightly) hide behind ignoring the situation. Now we've reached a point where the fanbase has just had enough and are speaking out. In the overall scheme of things, all of this means nothing. I mean, it's all just surrounding a rock band to begin with. This isn't a world shaking thing we're talking about after all. All of us could stop going to GNR shows and/or stop buying any and all merch tomorrow and it truthfully won't mean a thing. The band will keep raking in money off of people that aren't us and that's fine. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that's what will happen. However, I feel strongly that this fanbase has been treated like shit by TB for more than long enough. We're not going to censor people who have every right to feel insulted by TB and who they associate with. Circling back to your original point; it's laughable to me that we've been accused of "promoting hate" when it's TB who is openly associating with and encouraging the ones who actually promote hate and racism.
  2. "What Movie Did You Watch?" - 2019 Edition

I saw Zombieland 2 on Saturday, which I actually liked as much as the first. I saw Jay & Silent Bob Reboot yesterday whichever had a bjnch of issues but was enjoyable overall. I'm watching 3 From Hell right now. I've heard extremely mixed things but I'm about half way through and really liking it.

Oh man.... You really should check out Amused To Death. It's his strongest solo work by far. Like I said, I consider it a Floyd album. It's that good. And yeah, there's a lot of comparisons between Axl & Slash and David & Roger.
  4. Terminator - Dark Fate

I've been on a sequel kick this weekend. I saw Jay & Silent Bob Reboot today and there was a trailer for Dark Fate that I hadn't seen yet. Made it look much better than I thought previously. I may actually go see it in the theater now.
  5. Finishing up the second season of Insatiable on Netflix. Norrmally I don't believe in guilty pleasures, but good God, this show is the definition of it.

Glad you started this thread! Floyd is easily my number one band of all time. I got into them around the time Delicate Sound of Thunder came out. That album was a big gateway into their back catalog. It took me some time to get into Animals and The Final Cut since they're not featured in Delicate Sound, but I got to them a year later or so. I saw them twice at both Detroit shows in 94. I had 4th row for the second night when they did the entire Dark Side of the Moon for the first time in 19 years. It was just an amazing experience. I've seen Roger around 10 times since then, including The Wall twice. I got to meet him before the second time I saw The Wall and it was an awesome experience. I saw Gilmour one more time in 2016 as well. I fucking love WYWH and Animals, but The Wall is my single favorite piece of art by anyone ever, so it's my favorite Floyd album overall. Numbers 2 though 13 go to pretty much whatever album I'm listening to at the time. 14 and 15 are A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. I liked Saucerful a great deal and I like Syds solo work but I just can't get on board with Piper. Side note; I adore Amused To Death and think it's as much of a Floyd album as The Division Bell is and way more of a Floyd album than Momentary Lapse is.
  7. Copyright Strikes....

This is the biggest disappointment of the whole situation. We, the forum fans, cared about this band for years when literally no one else did. I'm not saying they owe us anything for that, but it'd sure be nice if their management would at least have common decency towards fans. It's really disappointing to have the fun of appreciating the music sucked out of it by situations like this.
  8. Copyright Strikes....

I'll say this: both Beta and Fernando have been shown numerous screen shots of walker not only admitting it, but bragging about it.
  9. Copyright Strikes....

Oh I know, nor do I expect them to. I love tons of music and I've never once expected an artist to care about me. However, I've also never had a bands managers try to piss on my leg and tell me it's raining either, so this is a unique situation for me lol Excellent idea. I'll start looking very seriously in that regard. The idea of course being to aviod any...
  10. Copyright Strikes....

Let's put the insult inside. Beta flat out lied in saying that walker had nothing to do with the takedowns. Then she lied again by saying she doesn't know who's doing it. That's a two for one lie because she's absolutely been shown proof of walker bragging about being involved with the takedowns.
  11. Copyright Strikes....

Exactly and here's the thing: We (as in the entire fanbase) have tried very hard to be supportive of TB. This forum itself has always tried to work with them. We have NEVER offered to censor the site in any way, but we've always tried to offer ways we could help improve the relationship between the band and it's fan base. Instead of that, the fan base gets repeatedly insulted by GNR (by way of shitty, over priced merch) and directly insulted by Beta and Fernando. How long is the fan base and the forum supposed to grin and bear it? This latest outright lie and insult from Beta seems to be the line in the sand where almost everyone has had enough. As a forum, we've never censored people and we're not about to start now. There is no sexism, racism or xenophobia going on here. Period. There's just people who are trying to be fans of a band but have now drawn a line after being slapped in the face so many times.
  12. Copyright Strikes....

Facts are statements that are undeniable and true. For example, here's a fact: Beta insulted a fan while lying about her knowledge of who is doing the takedowns.
  13. Copyright Strikes....

He won't be able to reply for a bit, he's in time out for a week. With all the latest developments, I have even less time to put into defending our forum against people who want to attack it
  14. Copyright Strikes....

Correct. The record label as absolutely nothing to do with this. The takedowns are the direct work of people acting on behalf of TB, which has been proven.
  15. Copyright Strikes....

Huh? How is that case closed? It's been proven true that is directly involved with the people doing the takedowns.
  16. Zombieland 2: Double Tap

I was gonna do the same, then my threw out the idea yesterday so we went. It's certainly nothing you have to go see in the theater or anything. Side note, we're going to see Jay & Silent Bob Reboot in a few hours. I can't remember the last time I went to two movies in two days lol
  17. Copyright Strikes....

Margot isn't blaming Beta. You might want to read back through the thread to get a handle on what's happening. Things will most likely make more sense then.
  18. Copyright Strikes....

It would appear you very much do care about the issue seeing as you're continuing to comment on it without understanding what the issue at hand really is. If you're not trying to watching videos of the band on YouTube, then this truly has no effect on you whatsoever. If you're not effected by the bands management lying to and insulting its fans, then good for you. However, that doesn't mean anyone else isn't justified in feeling the way they do.
  19. Copyright Strikes....

You're completely missing the point. The current issue doesn't have anything to do with any feeling entitled to anything. A fan commented about the GN'R videos being taken down, then one of their managers felt the need to insult the fan and lie about who's doing the takedowns. So it has nothing to do with "entitlement" and it's definitely not something happening behind the scenes. Also, that Oasis lyric is completely out of context. Nothing really to do with this situation at all.
  20. Copyright Strikes....

What. A. Fucking. Jam. I think the Pompeii one is my favorite version, but I'll take any performance of it really.
  21. Copyright Strikes....

Oh Jesus, that's a loaded question for me lol. They have 15 studio albums and I love all of them almost equally except for two. I guess I'd recommend you go with Wish You Were Here and/or Animals first. No shit? I didn't know that. We should get some Floyd discussion going in the My World section. There's no end to how much I'm willing to discuss Pink Floyd lol
  22. Haha awesome. I have a friend who's friends with him. Says he's truly an awesome guy in real life, which is great to hear
  23. Copyright Strikes....

The short answer to that is Pink Floyd. But in reality, there's probably a bunch of bands I prefer over GN'R these days.
  24. Zombieland 2: Double Tap

Saw it today. Liked it just as much as the first one.
