What makes sense can differ depending on perspective. For Slash fans or fans of GN'R adhering to a certain sound, then it makes perfect sense to have Slash play the leads. For fans who simply prefer Buckethead or Robin Finck and want the GN'R music to sound as good as possible to them, it makes perfect sense to not want Slash added to these songs. It is all about perspective, there is no objective truth here.

Nope, I’m not talking about preferences, which obviously differ (younger folks may prefer the NuGuns era, because it was active in their teenage years etc., that’s understandable). I’m talking about basic logic, which is intertwined with the band’s legacy and history and songs. The valid argument as to what I mean is in my preceding post. I don't think it needs any further explanation.

Nah because what we thought was The General was Monsters all along, and a lot of the hype was connected with the particular tune, whether the initial quality or the later cool remix. So until "Monsters" gets released...

To add: I (mis)understood this solely as a closure regarding the CD era.
As for any general "closure" with respect to GNR - no, that’s ludicrous. It’s just one of the demos, and I still believe stuff is coming. Why the hell wouldn’t it after all.
Maybe not as much as Slash hinted initially back then around 2016, but still. And since TG is actually Monsters, the whole legend thing was kind of a dud anyway, to me that is.

Wonder if the release of ‘The General’ was closure for a lot of people? Certainly felt that way for me, especially with the ‘Monsters’ leak, feels like this part of my life has got that closure. Anything from here on out is a bonus but I no longer have any expectations or clamour.

I think you will like it and the series finale was awesome.

I don't think there will be a season 2. I think it was just the one season to have closure.

So I binged the rest yesterday, and it was awesome indeed. Too bad it took so long to air and also there’s no final scene of like all the other characters getting together, as there are other spin-offs (I still haven’t finished Daryl, and there are new Negan/Maggie seasons planned as well, right?). Maybe one of these shows could have a cameo in this vein at the end? Anyway, we did get a closure, they made it home, and I liked it.
Maybe, maybe one day I’ll go through the entire TWD thing again, even if just skimming through some episodes. And that’s almost solely because of Rick – he’s such a great character and actor.
What a ride that was! Did it really run from 2010? Wow.

This reminds me of the "Axl had mild cancer" craze in the mid 2000s.

Well tbh I still think there was something shady going on with his health around that 2000+ era. He looked and sounded very different. Which could have been age or wear and tear, but then he looked and sounded alright again since 2006. It's still kind of a mystery.

It's a thing, and is very useful if you don't want any five o'clock shadow too. Too me it's obvious he did it, cause it makes no sense even when people see him out in the middle of the night at gas stations we don't see a glimpse of any beard at all.

The one most transexuals use is electrolysis, which is much more invasive and permanent.

Axl's redheaded, so I wouldn't expect any Columbo-like 5 o' clock shadow, especially not on a cellphone snapshot.

What's with all the sudden talking of Slash leaving and hypothesis of a Slashless future....have I missed a titbit from a recent interview or something? I think Slash seems content, he is able to do his SMKC AND solo album work as well as GNR, GNR aren't putting much out but there's something which is better than nothing...why would he leave? GNR if not the most creative of his endeavours,.it's certainly the one that brings home the bacon...

As usual - dead season, hiatus, i.e. any tangent will do...

Doesn't matter in the slightest. It's Axl's band, he calls all the shots, and that's about all we need to know anyway really.

That and when the new album is out of course.......

Never doubted that, but if Slash doesn't like something and puts his foot down, Axl's in a real pickle, that's what I'm saying.

I get what you’re trying to do here, but it’s really pointless to engage with people who are lapping at Axl’s nuts. It’s like trying to get a MAGA chump to act like a human being with compassion for others.

Just in case - please don't put me in any boxes here. If anything, I happen to agree with 99% of what Allwaystired writes on this forum...
