+1 to everything Un42nutzly had to say. I saw Guns back in 2011 at Gexa Energy Pavilion, which is a much smaller out door venue. Axl was good then but last night, at AT&T stadium, he was mesmerizing. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this concert. The previous shows from this tour had me confident that Guns were going to put on a great show but I was really afraid the crowd turnout just wasn't going to be there to justify such a large venue....I was WRONG! My friend and I showed up at 6:00pm and there were already a significant amount of people lined up at the gates, which didn't open for another 30 minutes. I was surprised to see alot of people there in their 20's. If I were to guess the general age range was 20-50 split pretty evenly.
My gate entrance was just down from the Merch trailer so I was able to hit it as soon as I cleared the gate. I was one of the first to make it to the trailer and I picked up a lithograph and a shirt. Guns songs were being played on the out door PA systems and yes I saw some people literally running to the stadium as they cleared the gate. I seriously felt like it was 1991! You would have thought this band currently had a number one single. People were that excited! Once inside, the place was buzzing. People were everywhere donning their GnR shirts. The fan base for this band in the metroplex area is second to none! We walked around the inside of the stadium taking it all in. It was our first time to be there and "impressive" isn't enough of a word for this venue. Other than just the obvious I noticed how clean this place is kept, the staff do an outstanding job. I suppose it helps to keep it maintained when tequila shots are $13! After pounding a few we made it to our seats in section 333, which I thought were great for this concert. You could still see the band pretty well on the stage and had a great view of the side screens. That and along with being mid level really let you experience the size of the crowd.
The cult came on for about 45 min, maybe. They were tight and sounded great. Definitely up to the task for opening for GnR and holding their own in such a large place. The crowd really enjoyed the set with people up dancing and jamming out to "Sweet Soul Sister" "Firewoman" and "Sanctuary" I am thankful to have had them as our openers. After their set I hit the restroom and stood in line for another beer. It was 9:28 as I was getting my Miller Lite and I hurried back to my seat not wanting to miss Guns take the stage. I kept thinking any minute and here they would be. The minutes started to pass and nothing. My friend was legitimately worried Axl had decided to play video games tonight instead of put on a show....I wasn't worried. There was an undeniable energy amongst the crowd. It was a good thing they didn't come out on time as people were still at the concessions etc at 9:30. It was amazing how the seats filled out over the next 20 minutes.
We all started to get excited as soon as the gunshots started going off over the PA system. Everyone, who was there, had been anticipating this for a long time, and we were all ready. Guns stormed the stage with "It's so Easy" and the crowd went wild! Axl ravaged the stage last night. Running up and down, to both sides all while hitting the words and the notes, proving he is still the best frontman in rock in roll. Axl interacted alot with the crowd through facial expressions, being able to command applause with a tilt of his head and show his thanks through a smile. It was a give and take relationship between the crowd and the band last night on which we ALL DELIVERED! Slash was on his A game all night as well. I don't understand how anyone can complain about solo's, when Slash is working the strings, this is rock n roll! Duff's presence alone was a joy to watch. He started to sing "Cant Put Your Arms Around A Memory" and then broke into "Attitude" which the crowd was surprisingly in to. At least my section was, it rocked! I thought Fortus was great with the band and really enjoyed his jam with Slash. Everyone seemed to accept him as a band member. I'm not going to break down and critique every song. There are plenty of videos to watch from last nights concert. What I can say with up most certainty is that this band came out in a manner that was nothing short of ferocious! One thing that really surprised me about the crowed is how many of the people were on their feet for the majority of the show. Were are talking 3 hours! The set list was fantastic with a 4 song encore! To those who don't like "The Seeker" it fucking rocked! The co worker that came with me was a bit apprehensive about coming...he couldn't think me enough for bringing him along after the show was over. We made out way out of the stadium at 1am, rocked down to the bone! Leaving the show I didn't know if I was in a time warp and it really was 1991 for the last 6 hours...No I wasn't. This is happening NOW and Guns N Roses are that fucking good! It was a 3 hour shot of adrenaline for me and I left wanting more. If any of you are apprehensive about seeing them do yourself a favor and go get your tickets now!
To the girl I met walking back to parking lot 4. If you are on this board, it was a joy talking to someone who loves this band as much as I do. Best of luck to you, hopefully we will cross paths again sometime!

Received my shirt and lanyard for the Arlington show last Friday.

This show is just going to be awesome. My first concert at Gexa and more importantly first ever Guns concert! Man I am getting amped up. Tomorrow is going to be amazing. How is the parking at this venue. I am staying downtown and thought about taking a cab. Are cabs readily available after shows?
-
What time are you guyes getting to the show? My ticket is in 102. Would it be a bad idea to get there at 9:30 so the wait wouldnt be as long?
-
That has got to be the dullest crowd I have ever seen for such a great performance...

I was going to stream this over my youtube feature on my blu ray player so I could watch it on the big scree. Unfortunately I cant find the live stream through the blu ray player. Is my only option to watch it on the computer with my 17" monitor?

I was able to get into the middle of the 102 section close the the isle. Should be a great view. Of course the only reason I got such as good seat is because I bought it as a single. Couldn't talk my friends into going, hoping meet some cool people there!
-
Yes they sound better. In most cases you are going to have to have some high end stereo equipment before you will notice the difference. It will be subtle. Dont play it on a $300 sounds system you bought at circuit city and expect a world of difference.

Lets see, I grew up in the country away from alot of my classmates, over time I pretty much became a loner. I was raised in a "normal" home with a dad who was always flying off the handle. First day of school I met this kid, we are still good friends to this day. His parents were dealers. Afterschool we would always do all kinds of shit together. We stole some cigarettes in the 4th grade and been smoking since then. We had our first beer together when we went cooler hoping with a highschool kid back when we were in the 6th grade. Our school was very small with only like 150 total. Everyone was wrangler wearing hicks except us. When I was in 7th grade I pansted a senior in front of everyone in homeroom cause he pissed me off. Through JR High I was cussing out teachers and telling them how things were going to be. I received detention at least once a week. Suspended twice. Smoked pot for the first time at 13, started selling when I was 14. I was selling cigarettes, weed, and pills to kids in high school. Started skipping class. In 8th grade I made out with a fine ass HS Junior cheerleader. Vandalised private property in 10th grade. As a Freshman I was in good with the Seniors and was at all the parties. One party as a Freshman, no one really knew why I was there, then they put on some GnR I jumped up and sang every fucking song through appetite after that almost every chicks made Sure I knew they were available to me. Funny my Freshman year was my last "wild" year. By that time most of my friends were upper classmen and when they started to graduate I got a job and didnt have as much time to hang out. Now I am a responsible college guy who drinks and smokes every now and then, I look back and think "man I did some really stupid, dumb shit" weird huh?
Oh ya, my mom was a school teacher too so I had to keep everything on the down low. To give you an idea My parents would have been pissed off if they knew I had skipped class much less anything else. I was leading like 2 different lives when I was in school, it was carzy the shit I would to keep them from finding out.

Damn, I hope that who ever said the arena was only 40% full is badly mistaken. Guess I will call it a night and wait till tomorrow to get all the info.
-
Yes I am sure it will be very much like last nights concert but I would still like to know how things are going tonight. Is there anyone who is going to keep us updated with a setlist and such?
-
He has replied to me in the past so I would assume, if he finds your message to be of any importance, he would reply to you. In this case probabloy not.

In the US. Texas to be more exact.

I went and saw "The Departed" today. As I was walking into the movie room I caught the tail end of a preview that I wish I had seen more of. What I did see were some clips of Metallica and GnR performing at Donnington and the voice guy said something about coming to a limited amount of theaters. All of this in probably 5 seconds. Needless to say I was like what the hell was that. Any one else seen anything at all like this at your movie theater? Note that this wasnt like a regular trailer they show right before the movie, it was one of those previews that they show before the movie trailers.

I think at first listen Better is the best track.
TWAT on the other hand isn't that special, but it grows on you and is maybe the best song after a while.
I think Better, TWAT, CITR, IRS, maddy, the blues are great
100% agree

I heard this on the radio, no I dont remember the station. Also it was mentioned on the board several months ago. Yes it is possible I am wrong I will not deny that but I honestly dont think I am otherwise I wouldnt have posted it.

thats what I thought, but I wasn't entirely sure, it could've been, like, an accidental nod towards the band, considering the traditional pistols and roses are gone, as well as the bloody background, I just wanted to verify that I wasn't imagining things
Just to let you know, it isnt blood in the background, its red wax. Wax that would have been used to create a seal for a secret document or something back in the 18th century. Honest mistake made by many.

Limited edition vinyl pressing of CD would be awesome. I would buy it. The only GnR album I have on vinyl I am sad to say the TSI, I would like to change that.
A friend was going to sell me T.S.I. for 100 dollars (since he paid that much for it). And I told him that you could get it off cheaper in Ebay, and someone bought it for ten dollars. Mint Condition without a problem.
Now I am a proud (and cheap) owner of that LP.
I also have A.F.D. plus two live bootlegs and one Demo LP.
I need to get U.S.I. 1 & 2, though so far Lies is my first take because I want it more.
$100 was way too much. I bought mine off the bay, still seald for maybe $10.
Of course it will be out on vinyl. All major rock bands (and alternative bands) put out their stuff on vinyl. There´s profit to be made out of it so you can count on it being released on vinyl if it´s released on CD. The question is still, will it be RELEASED?I have all Guns N´Roses full lenghts on vinyl and also alot of other of their stuff on vinyl. About 100 records I think
You can check out my record collection here: http://pop.nu/show_collection.asp?user=6727 and just scroll your way to the Guns N´Roses section which I think starts on page 12.
Dude, your collection is awesome. I have around 100 albums myself but nothing really rare. Mainly rock from the 70's and 80's.

LOL, funny post. Ya I used to practice the "stuttering effect" when I was a kid. Do it perfectly now, as the others said just vibrate your jaw.

Thats a cool picture disc. I new they still pressed singles on vinyl. Mainly for DJ use and collectors. I'm talking about cd singles in general. A few years ago we had an entire isle dedicated to singles but now they have all but dissapeard.
-
Singles, they still make those? Over the past few years all the record stores in my area have gradually gotten rid of there "singles" section.
Models got free front row tickets, VIP access to "pretty up" Dodgers Stadium for concert video

Interesting to see this topic come up. I meet a lady after the show in Arlington who is a model and was on or near the front row. I was probably one of the last concert goers to leave as I ran into a friend and ended up bull shitting with him for a half hour or so after the concert. As I made my way out across the desolate grounds surrounding the stadium I ran into a girl who was looking for her parking lot. We were actually looking for the same lot so I struck up a conversation. She was very cool and asked how I enjoyed the show and where I had been seated. She told me that she was called by her agency to attend and that's how she got to be next to the stage. At first I didn't get what she meant agency so she explained how it worked. She happened to really be into rock and was a big fan of both The Cult and GnR. She was actually pissed at some of the other girls because they were late and she missed The Cult opening. Apparently they had to wait until the entire group of women were there before they could go out to their specific area. She told me that she bought her boyfriend a ticket so he could be with her and when she met up with him during mid show he seemed to be indifferent about concert. I thought here she is buying her boyfriend a ticket and he could care less and now she is out walking alone in the early morning hours looking for her ride. Then my drunk friend, who had been keeping his distance, came up and demanded that she give me her number. I could tell she didn't like it so I thanked her for her conversation and that was that....
