"Music isn't something you create and not want everyone to hear it."  Youtube is an option, rumble is an option, facebook is an option, and that's just three possibilities I came up with off the top of my head.  There are other options as well if Axl actually has something people whose pussy is filled with maggots want to hear.  And maybe other people want to hear it too.  People who create music want people to hear it.

All people. if you create, that means you must release. no release? no create!

I know, I just read the Wikipedia article on it :)

A magnificent guitar in magnificent hands. Peter Green will always be my favorite when it comes to tone.

have you heard Greeny doing the B.B. King cover "I've got a good mind to give up living"? there's a 4 minute solo there and nothing else even came close to sounding like that. a lesson in how to make a guitar cry.

Kirk basically wants to have sex with it. it's adorable and he actually plays it live instead of it gathering dust. It's a beautiful thing even if you're not into Metallica.

Was listening to Velvet Revolver's Libertad in the car yesterday.

It gave me some hope, as the current band is basically a blend of Velvet Revolver (old guns) and "New Guns". With the more traditional rock sound VR had, with the more experimental, or even weird Chinese era stuff, I think actual new material by this lineup would be good. I imagine Frank will play drums on new material, stuff that Brain or Josh wasn't involved with.

Slash has an underrated ability to find a lot of variation in his sound and approach. Snakepit doesn't sound like VR which doesn't sound like SMKC, solo album, etc.

imagine a hybrid of Chinese Democracy, some Contraband, with the energy of Let It Roll and American Man leads. with Fall To Pieces, Slither, and Sucker Train Blues it's clear that like Axl said, there was the ability to create another great Gn'R album without Izzy imho. Duff has also proved to be a gifted song writer at least to my ears.

Yup, which is why before I made that point I said "commercially" to distinguish his creating and playing music personally from creating and playing to be released for the public to hear. Who cares what Axl is doing musically in private, for himself? I sure dont. I only care about what he's doing or will do that I'll be able to hear.

how will you be able to hear it if he doesn't get creative for himself first? and you don't know that he isn't creatively active anymore. he could be writing Eye On You part ll as we speak for all you know.

you invite Kesha, there's going to be hooker rolling and floor humping. it is what it is.

Highly doubtful. I remember in the China Exchange interview he talked about interest in creating film scores, which I think he would be really good at considering the instrumental movie like quality of many GnR songs. But that was now back in 2016 and most likely has gone nowhere. I think, as far as commercial ventures goes, it's clear Axl has been creatively retired since 2008. Singing on a cartoon show does not count, as many hear like to think it does. Releasing 4 songs that are over 20 years old and pretending that they're new I think is the strongest evidence towards his creative retirement.

Axl only expressed interest in film score as a listener, and in the hypothetical case of Gn'R not being active anymore in any capacity or whatever. he never planned to do film scores as far as we know which would make it a very different thing.

not releasing very much music doesn't mean Axl is not creative anymore I mean how could you possibly know how active he is when he's not talking about this shit? if you define being creative as writing and/or composing music, finishing it, and releasing it, then yes, but that is not the definition of being creative.

Axl being creative could be him composing a new tune playing his piano for example, or coming up with lyrics and vocal melodies and capturing that in the studio. we have no idea about that shit. the quantity of tunes he released in the last 30 years doesn't prove anything in that regard.

Well, it could have been two years from now, to make it round forty 😉

Seriously though, don't you think it's a funny coincidence? The leaker must have aimed that date.

my guess is that it's likely not a coincidence, it just made me wonder why a lot of people care about anniversaries, it seems instinctual, but in reality it's not important enough for me at least to define it as "icing on the cake". I guess it's the sense of symmetry that is appealing. anyway, great fuckin' show from my favorite era of the band. so raw.

Enjoy the track and quit batching about its title. For all I care they can name it "monster mash" or "fluffy monster's dick", who gives a flying fuck about the title..

while not a big deal, and more of a small detail, some people that are not you care about such things and imho it's valid and this is the place to express opinions like that. it's possible to bitch about the title and still enjoy the song.

But realistically we have ‘Monsters’. No doubt this is the final version and not an early demo so apart from it being released via official channels we do have it.

and it also seems like we were supposed to have it which means, if true, that Axl wanted it released so I'm optimistic about Gn'R releasing it officially at some point in the future.

  11. it's not over yet... I'm fine with it either way, but any more tracks with Axl, Duff, and Slash on them is something I'm very much still interested in. a cover, a Chinese leak, a new song, a collaboration, whatever.

no one sounds like Axl, Slash, and Duff. I see it as still open ended, you've got a lot of talented writers/composers in the lineup so I don't put a clock on it and Slash's approach works for me: if it happens, it happens.

in the end, Axl is just going to do what he wants to do and there is technically still more time for more Gn'R music to be released.

I saw Dorothy live a couple years back and she puts on a great show and can really sing.  Unfortunately she is an unbearable follow on social media and crazy religious to the point where she has stopped shows to rid audience members of evil spirits lol

she seems mentally ill, not trying to be an asshole. honestly, I would dislike it if I was in the crowd and someone was doing that shit onstage.
