  4. Damon Johnson never wanted to be a solo artist. He was happy with his resume of Brother Cane, Black Star Riders, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, and many other great gigs. But now with his new solo album, "Memoirs of an Uprising," he has found new purpose. Damon takes us through his journey, including how Eric Dover recommended him to Alice Cooper, when he took over for Richard Fortus in Thin Lizzy, writing with West Arkeen, the PledgeMusic debacle, and much much more! 7. We discuss drummer David Silveria's new band BI·AS while reflecting on the old. 8. Another wave of copyright strikes?

    Do you recall a couple years ago when a young singer Christina Grimmie was shot at a meet & greet by a fan she never met? Only 22. Awful. I only bring that up because a few weeks later when I had the chance to meet Blink 182 at work, I was asked to "open" my cane. FYI I use a cane for my neurological disability. I was respectful and understanding because I know cane weapons are a real thing. Anyway it led to this awkward photo because I was afraid to make any sudden movements with it haha. Point being some bands/artists are SUPER protective and paranoid now. Unfortunately they have a right to be
  9. Another wave of copyright strikes?

    How and why would I get this clown's number? Someone showed me the screenshot of a spam text she got, claiming it was me. Why me? I'm from New York and the # she was texted from was from New York....Buffalo, NY. A full 6 hours away from Long Island where I live. Buffalo is closer to Canada than NYC. They make shit up and it's allowed on GNR's official forum. This should be GNR's official forum here. Dealing with trolls is one thing, but these people have personality disorders.
  10. Thanks! I tried submitting to Spotify awhile ago, but now since I'm an official iHeart podcast I believe I'm beholden to them. I'm on a few other outlets though, Spreaker and SoundCloud are pretty easy to use.
  11. NEW! Ep. 126 - @ThatRobJanas & @kevjfleming Rob & Kevin are 2 writers/actors who co-wrote the Axl/Looney Tunes episode. Rob himself wrote the song "Rock the Rock." They give exclusive behind-the-scenes of how this all happened! iHeartRadio--> https://ihr.fm/2CBVhPQ Spreaker --> https://bit.ly/2F8IFQL SoundCloud --> https://bit.ly/2IJC3cL Stitcher --> https://bit.ly/2HnXGh
  12. Night Ranger, Alice Cooper, Vince Neil, and Slash are just some of the artists to recruit guitarist Keri Kelli. Keri shares his path with us, including his version of what ended Slash's Snakepit...or did it?? He also talks about his time in Adler's Appetite, working with Gilby Clarke, new band "A New Revenge" with Tim "Ripper" Owens and his restaurant business, "Aces & Ales." Special co-host is Remco from Amsterdam. 13. My bad. I remember Scotto once getting mad at me because I posted the NITLT setlist, saying it was a spoiler. I never thought of it that way before. Duly noted
  14. Not planned like that, sometimes these interview opps just come up and I don't like waiting a week to post
  15. UCR did a great article about the interview https://ultimateclassicrock.com/axl-rose-new-looney-tunes-song-story/?fbclid=IwAR05eTl9YLOvdqQtz3ewxmMl3eQYABMpZZXt25iDcT_mm7KJUC4UNShlE3I
  16. "They were really detailed and really specific and they were wanting like the Bandanas, certain bandanas on his leg a certain way. And he has, um, I guess his dog collars for the dogs that he's had in his life who's deceased."
  17. They gave specifics about the bandannas and dog collars representing his deceased pets.
  18. Oh, the WHOLE process. Something I can ask next time one of them comes on.
  19. They said the recording itself took 3 hours. The song was approved beforehand. Seemed like the dialogue script was read first at the recording by the way they described some of Axl's reactions.
  20. They considered Steven Tyler for a second when they thought Axl wouldn't happen, but they knew the value in having Axl Rose be the guy.
  21. as in the specific date? There's a funny story when they told him 9, assuming it was known as 9am because voiceovers is a day job for people, but Axl came at 9 at night.
  22. Nothing was edited out. FYI I do give that option to guests so they're 100% comfortable. I was grateful on how open they were. And the fact they are both huge GNR fans, I think they still can't believe it happened.
  23. Taking a break from the studio to talk to us is Soul Asylum's Dave Pirner. We discuss his upcoming lyric book, new Soul Asylum album, working with director Kevin Smith, encounters with Prince, friendship with Tommy Stinson, opening for GNR, Runaway Train being used in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and much more! Special co-host for this episode is AFD Show listener Divya from India. She embraces the opportunity and asks Dave some great questions! iHeartRadio --> https://ihr.fm/2wNF06oSpreaker --> https://bit.ly/2Zd2CNYSoundCloud --> https://bit.ly/2ICHkT9Stitcher --> https://bit.ly/2HnXGhCGoogle Play --> https://bit.ly/2F3c5zX
