  1. Aaaaah no way Len! I really really really want her to be called after her Dad, just with a more feminine spelling: Daisy. :)

And I'm not congratulating until the little shit is actually breathing it's own breath.

    Congratulations Dazey! :)

Your baby's got the same birthday as me. :)

    Quick, shove it back in!

    :rofl-lol:

  2. Damn mirrors and their reversed images.

Yeah, I even tried it with the front facing camera but I couldn't get the entire shirt in the picture without cutting the edges of it off..... :shrugs:

*sigh* You should have asked an experienced selfie taker. :P

    It's all about the angle.

Of the dangle... To calculate the measure of the pleasure?!

In all seriousness if you hold your phone out to the side and angle it back to your body you get the whole body/face in frame. You have to make a quick glance back to see that the image is right but it's totally possible. I find the tone of the shot more forgiving on skin too. :P

  3. the second dress is so cute :)

and the first one... is it pink from behind?

It is. :) It actually has a zip right up the centre back with a sunray pleated panel so it's particularly flarey at the back.

Just went on a teeny weeny shopping spree.........

Love it all, literally every bit of it, except the horrible green flares made out of the top of a snooker table, rest is fuckin' mint :). Second and third down are particularly fantastic.
 You're right! They are the colour of a snooker table! But I'm OK with that. I love dark green and I love long wide legged trousers at the moment. And one of my favourite colour combos is green and pink so they'll be put to good use with my pink tops.

Glad you approve of the rest though. But I'd be totally OK with it if you hated it all. :P

They're probably wonderful but i just have this in-built aversion to flares...and hippies. It's a deep-rooted hatred that probably swallows up a lot of innocents in the process, of which the snooker table flares might be a good example

I always thought dark green and orange clash really well together, if that makes any sense at all. Army green and pink too.

But these pants aren't 'flares' as such. Hippy flares are very fitted from the waistband to the knees and then flare out. I'm really not a fan of 1970s type flares either.....they're basically costume-like now and they really can't be worn seriously. The pants I bought are just wide legged pants which were worn best by Katharine Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich and Coco Chanel.....from the late 20s to the early 40s. It was all about women and their new found freedom to wear trousers, where previously they were always supposed to wear a dress or skirt. I love the cool, refined chic-ness that these pants have but they must be worn with heels so that your legs look like they're 2 metres long.

And yes, I love dark green and orange but unfortunately orange is a shocker on me so I'll have to leave that combo to the more olive skinned folks in this world. <_<

im too middle-of-the-road for this kinda stuff. but you can totally pull it off. post a picture of you wearing it someday :)

Thanks babe! I would post a pic except the reality is there are too many here who would then post dreadful memes about how much of an attention whore I am.

  5. It's never too late to resort to my patented "clubbing and dragging" method.

Oh, I do that all the time. I just don't want to with her. She's just a buddy to me. But I do like her a lot, so the situation is kinda balls.

Well, you can always try plan b. Find her and her boyfriend together and just whip it right out to establish dominance. Theoretically, he should run away intimidated and she should get to sucking because that's what comes natural to her. Theoretically. I haven't had use for plan b yet.

    :rofl-lol:

Jealous partners are a nuisance, especially when they expect friends of 5+ years to just be abandoned.

A nuisance? That's putting it kindly. Jealousy is one of the worst traits a person can display, particularly because it displays enormous weakness and insecurity. There's nothing more sexually off putting than insecurity. Do people not realise when they display jealousy toward someone else they're actually making themselves look more unattractive and the other 'potential' partner MORE attractive? It's literally the most counter productive emotion in existence.

  6. Seriously was there ever a more beautiful motherfucker than Brando in his prime?

    C'mon remember where we are!lkvgh.jpg

The issue here is that, in the male category you sort of score points for not looking like a bird :D

Sorry, that means you didn't analyse frame for frame the SCOM and WTTJ videos where Axl was prancing around in spandex trousers.

I admit I was 14 years old at the time.....but still!

Oh don't me wrong, he was gorgeous looking...and i seriously mean that, there was certain times where the guy looked like a statue or something, like perfect...but in the geezers category i feel its selling the best parts of the masculine...experience up the river to have someone so un-masculine looking topping the table. Brando is my archetype of a bloke I suppose.

Alright. You're a geezer and I'm not so I have to agree with you on this one....but from a girls perspective there was NOTHING feminine about Axl from the late 80s and early 90s whatsoever. Yes he had long hair but there were many long haired men at that time that put to rest the idea that long hair was feminine....it's just not. Axl was so intensely masculine at that time, but in a way that didn't fit the standard definition of masculinity.....much like Audrey Hepburn didn't fit the standard definition of feminity in the era of Marilyn Monroe. Sexuality has so many variants and definitions....I really love that. :)

  8. I've put on quite a bit of weight in the last year or so...I'm 168 cm tall (or 5'5") and now weigh 52kg (114 pounds). A few years ago at my worst I weighed 47kg (103 pounds). I was very stressed and could barely eat. Now I'm feeling much better and eating voraciously instead of like a sparrow.

  9. And I'd like to add that the yellow tartan dress was out of this WORLD!!!! The construction on that thing was phenomenal! Every check matched perfectly and there wasn't a single ripple or saggy bit given that the checks were placed diagonally across the body. And he inside of the pleats was contrasted with another tartan which was so stunningly beautiful......I really really want it!!!!

And this crocodile corset was breathtaking......I remember seeing a documentary in which this corset was made. It's real crocodile skin and basically it was cut up into tiny pieces around each of the 'scales' and reassembled in the shape of the female form so it actually looks like the skin is the woman's own. It was one of the most perfect, most flawless things I've ever seen. Each side was perfectly symmetrical :o

  10. Apart from that one with gold windey looking things on it (which I've removed) those are all fucking fabulous!

I get that you're not seeing the appeal of the gold one.......its basically a stylised version of the undergarments that women in the 18th century wore to hold their skirts out.....they're called panniers. I love the way that JPG reinterprets the clothing of his culture....from the the historical clothing from the French Revolution (the corsets, panniers, etc) to the Breton striped shirts that the fisherman have worn for years. He's so faithful and reverent of the history of clothing and particularly French clothing. I think it's what makes his clothing art and puts him on the level of artist, not just fashion designer. :)

  11. This week has been just one huge fashion indulgence for me :D......from the races....to visiting the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition on display at the National Gallery here. This man is amazing, the exhibition was really comprehensive (I saw many of my favourite pieces that he has ever created) and the imagination that spews out of this man's brain is ASTONISHING!!!!!

He has been an ever present force in my life from the days when I first fell in love with fashion :

1991 when I made the closest replica I possibly could of Madonna's JPG pinstripe suit and pink satin bustier with suspenders and wore it to a gay dance party.

1993 when my then boyfriend bought me an original JPG dress complete with sheer mesh side panels and metal bra cups. (I still have it of course)

2000 with his Haute Couture collection that just blew my mind and inspired me to leave my job in advertising and switch to fashion  WHATEVER IT TOOK!!!!!

2003 (December 30) I saw the man himself at La Boqueria market in Barcelona!!!! My other half taps me on the shoulder and says "look over there...look who's there". I looked and saw him. I stopped dead still and my jaw literally dropped open. He looked up at me and smiled.....I was blinded and didn't move....next thing he was gone! :o

2006 I start working in couture with the determination to be the best I can be thanks to three letters........ J.P.G

Not only are his pieces hugely creative and ground breaking the technical execution is FUCKING INCREDIBLE! It doesn't get any better than this:

  12. That bloke with all the shit on his jacket reminds me of a fridge door

    :rofl-lol:

I can think of worse things to be compared to.

    Whose the blonde?

Just a model hired to exhibit the designer's outfit (designer on her right).

She was and is stunningly beautiful but there was that ever present vacant stare behind her eyes all day.

  13. 20% off the Billy Reid Bond Peacoat. Still like $570. :nervous:

What? That's nothing. I have handbags that cost close to 4 times that.

I should probably spend less on that kind of shit than I do but I always remember:

    #1, I don't have any kids.

#2, I was in the Hermes store in Paris some years ago and saw a bag for sale for €93,000 and thinking that I should never feel guilty for purchasing the things I do that I really love because they're small fry compared to shit like that.

At the end of the day, I love my stuff and I can afford it. When I have greater priorities in life I will do otherwise, but in the meantime.......I shop. And I love it.

And I think you're in the same situation. :)

  14. Lol. Yeah, she was def having an off hair day.

(Funny thing is that woman sits in exactly the same spot every year to watch the fashion events. I just know I can go there and see what she's wearing and she will be right there. We always have a little chat, say hi, and then I move on. I like knowing she's always there.....as if she eternally sits there and changes her outfits regularly enough for me to see something different every time. Hahaha!)

  15. I really enjoyed this gentleman's look at the races on Tuesday.

And I'm loving the guitar bag on the shoulder of his lady friend.

They're both nutters and I love them for being so exuberant and un-boring.

  16. Toni Childs - Tin Drum.

I saw her live on Monday night in a small tiny venue with about 150-200 people. Was so up close with her and she was amazing. I hadn't listened to her music properly since I last saw her live in the late 80s when Union came out and it's blown me away. I hear so much more meaning in her songs now as a grown adult than I did as a teenager. And even then I loved them. It's amazing how music can re enter your life at just the right time.....

The poor woman's brother was found dead floating in a river about 5 days ago, so her performance was very emotional. She lives here in Australia now and I could see her pain in not being able to be back in the US with her family right now. She's an amazing woman and a great songwriter and a beautiful singer.
