  1. “Feel the Axl Rose vibe.” A silly quote on the front page about living and running… this feels like something Axl had absolutely nothing to do with. He may have green lit the idea… that’s it.
  2. Man, I think we’re all way too fatigued and let down by what The General turned out to be. That was supposed to be the true big gun we’ve fantasized about for 2 decades. Hard to really get hyped for anything CD era at this point. We’ll take whatever we can get, of course.
  3. Obviously she has no clue about the song ‘Monsters.’ What an asinine thing to ponder.
  4. Reddit mods 100% have TB ties. Just like Jarmo in the old days. They protect the band/Axl by censoring half the sub
  5. Yes, I think the band leaked the tracks. Didn’t GN’R officially register ‘The General and Monsters,’ a week before the leak? Why would Monsters just be tacked on to the documentation… seems to me the band was planning the leak immediately following the delayed release. Who really would’ve been able to get soundboard mixes of these 2 songs and leak them
  6. Usually when GNR post something on their socials, whether it be sub-par live Axl vocals, or a rare new song, the comments section is relatively positive from the casual fan base. Most of the comments on Instagram are people saying that the song sucks. Not good. I actually like the general, but I can totally see how fans don’t.
  7. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, I believe. The amount of accusations combined with Axl having deeply disturbing abuse experience in his youth, leads me to think some of these accusations could be true. Don’t really care that much either way but just my 2 cents.
  8. Wow, not surprised by this at all. The spoiled brat, smug mother fucker. This is his nail in the coffin for his reputation. What a scumbag. Poor Kat. Imagine being prayed upon by fucking doofus Fernando while trying to do your job.
  9. Omg imagine.. Axl fucking ripped those screams in prime form in 2016 every damn time. Haven’t heard the screams in 2023, but it’s always been a shining moment for him even into his later years.
  10. There’s not one chance someone side-stage was telling Axl not to go into The General’s meaning. To me, it seemed Axl was kind of taking the piss out of it. He said it’s a ‘new’ song, then probably thought, well, a 20-year-old new song, and he just said Nevermind instead of getting into that.
  11. That was a great conversation/interview. Regardless of his reputation on these forums, Matt’s a solid dude in my book.
  12. It’s dumbfounding that anyone would ever think that… one song is clearly about child abuse and the other clearly about a romantic relationship gone bad (Seymour). Pleasantly surprised that the performance of The General wasn’t a train wreck, from Axl specifically. The chorus is all Mickey so it’s not the biggest challenge in the world for Axl, he even forced out more rasp on it live compared to the studio. Pretty much nailed the outro wails as well. Good shit, Guns. Fingers crossed for Monsters at some point
  13. ‘For the hell I let you put me through’ I believe on the bridge of Monster
  14. Haven’t read those in a minute. Damn. I definitely see a correlation in some of those lines to The General. The use of Daddy, the references to his family hiding the truth from him. When you frame Axls life in the 80s and 90s through this lens, it really tells you why he was so problematic and manic.. it gives ‘Appetite For Destruction’ a much darker meaning to him.
  15. You know, Taylor swift gets a lack of flack for her amount of breakup songs. Axl gives her a run for her money with the Seymour songs haha. Not hating, I love how he writes his deepest emotions into songs. Monsters lyrics are basically an extension of There Was A Time, same vibe, about a crazy narcissistic woman who is emotionally and mentally tormenting Axl. ‘I would do anything for you, there was a time.’ And ‘I was there for you, it’s all that I could do.’ And of course a couple lines about the promiscuous sexual nature of the lady. I wish I could make out what Axls deep vocals are on the song. ‘The Monsters have _____ me,’ is what I hear, there’s a super heavy robotic effect on those deep vocals, unlike the more raw deep vocals on TWAT and Shacklers. Really hope we get State of Grace soon… it’s interesting that The General at the end has the same vocal scatting melodys as State of Grace in the climax of that song. Half of the parts, Axl seemed to not have the lyrics for yet. He’s 100% switching between singing words and just the Melodies at the end of The General and I can’t imagine that’s what Axl wanted the final outcome to be. Just like how he eventually found the right words to end Street of Dreams.
  16. You know… I shit on these songs for Axls lyrics and effects on his vocals… particularly on The General, I still can’t make our half of that songs lyrics. But.. holy shit is the potential there in these songs to be all timers… some of the vocals mixing just bothers me, but aside from that… these are fucking insanely cool/amazing songs
  17. No one outside of these forums will ever even hear these songs.. the circle jerk in these threads is wild
  18. The vocal minority saying this is better than ‘blues based cock rock,” is.. absurd.. a song about daddy and another Seymour song presumably about how she hurt and abused him emotionally… the lyrics to monster are fucking cringe. The rasp part lyrics are cringe. It’s clear why these stayed on the shelf for so long.. instrumentals are epic… Axl not so much.
  19. The sensationalism being spewed about these tracks is mind-boggling. Are plants in this bitch?
  20. Anyone remember that story of how TB members had to turn off Axls cable to prevent him from seeing a news story about him on tv, or something to that effect? How hard do you think Fernando is trying to make sure Axl didn’t find out before the show..
  21. It just dawned on me that perhaps Axl wanted Monsters to be included at the last minute which may explain the sudden delay. Would explain why it was only marketed as only The General at first.
  22. Does it not bother anybody else how fucked these vocals are, for Axls standards.. the effects that he hides his voice behind.. the bizarre layering.. he has one of the best voices in music history, showcased on many CD songs… The instrumentals are absolutely amazing.. it’s the vocals that just kill it for me.. even the rasp used in the bridge of Monsters just doesn’t sound right at points.. sounds like an Axl cover singer.. just shocked
  23. It’s sad. I hear the makings of absolute epics, all time classics. But it’s only half of that. I really feel like Axl fell short. He wanted to use voices that didn’t make him famous… all this spoken singing and weird mega-phone effects just really bring these down. The general repeats the first verse nearly identically in the second verse.. the last 4 lines are scratch vocals or he just gave up on writing the lyrics. Fuck man I wish I could get with these tracks but the ideas Axl came up with just don’t get them there. I’m just very let down by Axl in the way he’s putting out these songs in lesser form than they could be. Perhaps became unlistenable for me because of Axls vocal takes. I can’t imagine the dudes in the band vibed with a lot of these vocal takes either..
