  1. I'll start with two: 1) I prefer Don't Cry (Alt Lyrics) over Don't Cry. 2) I think Chinese Democracy is some of Axl's best work.
  2. The "New Album" Thread

So apparently, AC/DC will be releasing an album in March. Pearl Jam, too. It's not inconceivable that Guns will schedule an album for March, but the month is beginning to look awfully crowded. https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/report-ac-dc-to-release-new-album-this-year-tour-australia-in-the-fall/?fbclid=IwAR0OAeRKlbliJ7ZTwceV-XH42U01RFRWEVG73IKxZG-SJBZT_AqykXu2u3A
  3. The "New Album" Thread

    Anyone remember the Slash Burger?
  4. The "New Album" Thread

Time for Eye on You with a Snoop Dogg breakdown.
  5. The latest post actually uses 'Fuckin'. Sounds like their social media guy is monitoring the forum, lol.
  6. The "New Album" Thread

The General better be on the new album.
  7. I think Snoop is fine. Pink was okay as she was only guesting, and the band done that with others a few times throughout the tour. Fergie was next level cringe though, espcially on the performance where she was using Slash as a stripper's pole, and the other one where Slash was wearing a sparkling top hat.
  8. Open Letter to FERNANDO...

The thing that perplexes me about his comment is this: He can't share the title of the album but he can share when it will be releasing? In any normal case, he wouldn't be able to share either.
  9. Fortus interview in Forbes

In 2016, he could have done it with his AC/DC voice.
  10. The "New Album" Thread

Generally, i agree that the band should show what they're capable of now, but most people won't care, and to them, it will be new and good as long as the big three are on it. Besides, we don't know how much Hardschool would theoretically change. Nor do we know if it even was a CD era song to begin with. It could have been something Duff and Slash were working on in the mid 90s.
  11. The "New Album" Thread

What if they take their use of 'f' to a new level and call the album 'GNFNR'?
  12. The "New Album" Thread

Dizzy's mum is not Slash or Duff though. I don't think SOYL means anything. Yeah, the band and Fernando played it off as a new song, which was shit, but that really has no impact on writing. For one, it was released as part of a wider boxset, Secondly, many people say Axl is a prolific writer behind the scenes - he just doesn't release it. I'm confident there is more than enough material for the band to work with.
  13. The "New Album" Thread

Slash, Duff, Richard and Fernando have all confirmed work on a new album. We know it's happening, we just don't know when it will be released (some rumours say March) and what songs will comprise it.
  14. Fortus interview in Forbes

They could always slow it down a bit. Most people in the audience wouldn't know, lol.
  15. The "New Album" Thread

If there's going to be an official announcement for a new album, it's certainly not going to come from Fortus.
  16. The "New Album" Thread

Honestly, i don't mind Hardschool, and i think it would be great if they trimmed it down a bit for an official release.
  17. The "New Album" Thread

The unfortunate truth is that to most people, Hardschool would be a new song. I am convinced that since it was added to the alt. setlist and rehearsed last year, it might be considered as a single for any new album.
  18. Steven probably would have died. Slash and Duff may have followed. The band may not have had the opportunity to release 5 or 6 albums before they broke up as a result of drug issues or death. Let's say they never died and did release a few more albums. There probably would have been internal tensions on where to go with the music, which may impact quality and direction. They probably would have fallen out of fashion by the early 2000s if they weren't able to adapt like the RHCP or Metallica. If they weren't careful, they may have lost their legendary status and continued to play a mix between arena shows and smallish shows, depending on the market.
  19. Atlas is good, but a little flat, i think. It meanders and doesn't really go anywhere. If Atlas gets released, i would be sad to see May's guitar work go. In terms of my favourite leaks, i was more impressed by Hardschool and Perhaps. Hardschool is a great rocker that simply fits in the GNR catalogue, but could do with some trimming. Perhaps is classic Axl, with great vocals, pianos (and the breakdown in the middle)! I actually think both would perform well if released this year.
  20. 1) Just because they have been associated with Axl since the '90's doesn't mean they were working in a business or management capacity since then. Team Brazil was instituted around 2011/2012, and Beta had some influential capacity prior to then. 2) Axl had issues before and after Team Brazil were instituted. It's not like they were immediate cures for Axl. In fact, Beta forced his hand by threatening to quit unless Axl stopped hiring third party managers. She says so herself. 3) Axl was the one who told Fernando he was going to contact Slash. It's not so hard to pick up a phone and hand it to Axl, is it? After all, that's what Fernando done prior to becoming manager - he was a personal assistant to Axl (another gig he just fell into by virtue of being the son of Beta). Guns N' Roses, since then, has been represented by three parties (Axl, Slash and Duff) with three different managers. They have at the very least overseen the touring, and will likely oversee a future album release too. While Team Brazil deserves some credit for negotiating a reunion, to give all credit to them is disingenuous. In fact, before the reunion, Guns N' Roses was playing entertainment centers at best and amphitheaters at worst. Axl was reportedly in some financial trouble as well. Does that really sound like fantastic management? 3) Team Brazil may be able to negotiate successful tours, but they are terrible marketers and promoters. A band needs both to survive. You say community engagement isn't important for what they are doing. I will say that is true for the reunion tour, but sooner or later, that steam will run out. They will require professional marketing and PR then.
  21. Come on. Beta was the housekeeper/nanny for Stephanie, and soon latched onto Axl. If it wasn't for her position, she would never have made it into Axl's inner circle, let alone become his manager, with her son later to follow. Fernando is lucky he popped out of Beta and not some other housekeeper. It's as simple as that. I don't disagree that Axl may be content with Team Brazil. In fact, i think it is clear that Beta was an emotional crutch for Axl during and after the band's collapse. However, this has no bearing on the fact that Team Brazil are shitty managers and have no community engagement skills.
  22. When they caption that they're about to drop some fire, it's probably a reference to Slash about to take the stage in the image. They know what they are doing by playing with ambiguous words though. Then again... (Here comes some optimism)... They are going to start touring at the end of the month, and if the rumours of a 2020 release are true, the band will need new material for promotion. It is not inconceivable that they would release a single to kickstart the tour.
  23. Remember that terrorist attack on that nightclub in Orlando, Florida? GNR had a scheduled post the day after about the band 'unloading near you' or some such shit, which they pulled after an hour or so.
  24. I wrote this a few pages back, but this is how i hear the chorus for Perhaps: "I got a lot more than i bargained for (You're all alone now)You forgot about the others you were begging for (You're all alone)So talk to the ones that you once ignored(You're all alone now)You used to be a little crazy now there's so much more (You're all alone)"
  25. Of course. If you include the rest of my comment, you will see i disagree with some of TB's practices too. As far as i'm concerned, TB sucks ass at marketing and promotions, particularly regarding community engagement.
