I'd say it was far easier in the internet age. The likes of The Beatles, MJ, Elvis, Madonna etc had to rely on people actually going out of their front door and parting with their money to listen to their music. Streaming is far easier to do and many people stream music they would never think of parting money for.

It's also a bit sad how impressed grown men are with her popularity. Are we in high school or something?

I don't think you understand how many variants of the same album Swift's fans will purchase. They're rabid. And they'll happily shell out the money for these variants. It's not even a question.

I mean, sure, they don't have to get in their car and drive to the record store, but they're spending the money. Believe it.

To many people on this forum are still stuck in the past and that's the problem with many who post on this forum.

    It's not the 90s anymore...

Music video directors don't exist anymore nor do record labels have the money to invest in a product that doesn't give them a financial return.

The band have released a music video that fits in with the current state of today's music industry, including the cost factor and holding the copyrights to their own  content.

Some of you seem to think this music video was released to make some money.

The music industry doesn't make any money anymore, hence a less cost effective alternative..

Thats why many artists release animation/lyric based music videos or are remastering previously released albums.

This post must be AI because I haven't seen a lot of people talking about GNR wanting money from putting this video out there.

Maybe you're reading my posts as more 'serious' than they are, idk. A cheap video for a throwaway song really isn't a big deal, but it's all we've got to discuss so that's what we're doing.

You think I'm imagining the sloppy details in AI animation? Take a closer look at the clip then.

There's some weirdo's on here who jump on any criticism as 'whining' or 'hating'. The clipping in The General should've been addressed before it was released, but those who point it out are 'bitching'. Sloppy AI shit from a band that absolutely could afford professional animators deserves criticism, but those who point it out are 'whining'. Give me a fucking break

Of course it’s whining. Meanwhile, GNR could post a video on social media of a dog shitting out a log that somehow looks like the AFD album cover, throw The General on over it, and you’d get the same posters saying the same thing: “At least we’re getting something! Better than nothing! Whiners!”

I don't know if the interest is here for GNR, but this is a great thread on the Led Zeppelin forum-

The Best Live Performances of Each Led Zeppelin Song (Comprehensive Playlist) - Led Zeppelin Live - Led Zeppelin Official Forum

Basically, it is a look into determine what are the "best" live versions of each song. I remember years and years ago, some on here did something similar for NuGNR to make Live Era '01- '10, which was pretty cool! Obviously, this is all subjective, but it is a great way to get some live gems out there and known. I admit, I am familiar with most of the main boots and concerts, but I may be missing some killer versions from shows I have not heard, yet-
