  1. This European leg was great! I went to three shows: Graspop, Rome and Weert. Axl’s mic sound had issues at Graspop and had a comfortable VIP Deck ticket there, so watched it from a distance, knowing I would be in the GC for the two other shows. The atmosphere and location in Rome were the best, Circo Massimo in the heart of the city was so great! Sound wise, Weert was the best out of the three, at least for me. New music is a nice to have, but I don’t let the lack of it ruin the joy of the nostalgia act and the soundtrack of my life. Plus: I’d rather have PTU, Reckless Life, Locomotive, DOTF (I always liked that TSI song so much, finally it was played!!!), Anything Goes and My Michelle than a new song. Watching Axl having a lot of fun and having a better voice was great and made it better than previous legs. I Next time I will be there again a few times, whether or not there will be new music, I don’t care :-)
  2. Reviews by the newspapers are in general not very positive, but this one is brutal: https://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2023/07/12/hallo-dusseldorf-begroet-de-leadzanger-van-guns-n-roses-het-publiek-in-weert-waarna-hij-ze-drie-uur-lang-kwelt-a4169605?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=facebook&utm_term=20230712 Me and my friends had a blast, the sound was really good, the golden circle was pretty small. They also point out that the band was late like in the past but don’t blame the organizers for the worst parking experience ever, we were stuck in the traffic jam for 2 hours (couldn’t walk due to my knee injury) and were glad that ultimately we only missed two songs. I am sure the traffic was the reason for the delay. My impression was that everyone around us had a blast as well! I am usually more a Slash fan but Axl owned the stage! Don’t know what these journalists are talking about, but maybe they had some vinegar for breakfast…
  3. Think (and hope) it is checking how bad the traffic is and whether there should be some more delay
  4. Hope not TBH. There are so many people stuck in the traffic in town, it is not moving. Shitshow this organisation of the parking
  5. I am still in the traffic, must be someone else 😂
  6. How big (or small) is the golden circle?
  7. Must be a small golden circle then, finally :-)
  8. After getting back from a great GNR weekend in Rome yesterday and really looking forward to tomorrow, my old injury decided to return tonight, so after 25 years since the last time, my kneecap flipped out. Just back from the hospital and spoke with the doctors and I can still go with the walking tube. And well, after I flew to the GNR show in Gothenburg in Sweden in 2018 after I broke my shoulder on four places as result of a cycling incident and I had not had surgery yet at the time, I think this will be doable. So if you see someone in the Golden Circle with a walking tube on his left leg and walking crutches, be kind and watch out a little… Let’s fn go!
  9. Of course the bad ticket sales don’t look good, but the upside may be a relatively intimate concert and hopefully a very small Golden Circle, which tend to become bigger and bigger. It was pretty big in Rome.
  10. Waiting in the plane at Fiumicino Airport to go back to the Netherlands. What a great show, great energy and I really liked the location, the setting of Circo Massimo is great and my hotel was literally next to the field). On to the show in Weert on Tuesday, curious how many tickets have been sold by now.
  11. Where are they handing out the GC wristbands? Do you need a paper printed ticket for that (i.e. are they marking your ticket) or is the e-ticket ok? (just a last minute thought)
  12. Can you bring a bottle to refill water?
  13. Flying to Rome from Amsterdam this afternoon, missed Hyde Park last week due to family obligations so instead I decided to go to Rome last minute. Looking at this tweet below, this will probably be the most beautiful concert venue I have ever been. And then afterwards to the show in my home country on Tuesday as well (after having seen them already in Belgium last month). Excited to the Max(imus)!!
  14. Some GC tickets available again on Ticketmaster and Ticketone. Does anyone know what time GNR is expected to go on stage?
  15. Is there already a time schedule available?
  16. I think the venue is open for “Open House” today, lot of activities during non-concert days, so I would guess no soundcheck today. Last year, I walked through Hyde Park recovering after two nights of Pearl Jam, when on the Sunday morning around 11am, Duran Duran was soundchecking for that night. Was actually fun hearing “Wild Boys”. For what it’s worth, might be a scenario for the GNR soundcheck tomorrow. Pity I need to miss the show as my wife told me last week that she actually is in the UK this week for work, so I needed to stay home in the Netherlands for the family and sold my ticket. As good trade-off I will now be enjoying GNR in Rome (always wanted tondo a gig in an ancient setting) next week when it will be a comfortable 35 degrees haha.
