  1. Some crazy people out there for sure. If you meet your favourite rock star at the gas station or something, I think it's ok to feel the vibe and maybe say hi asking for an autograph or something, but stalking their private home is way over the top and totally disrespectful. Even those selfies are pushing it in my opinion. I sure don't want to have my pic taken as I usually look like shit when I'm just out to quickly fetch a pack cigarettes. I have even more respect for the artists who understand it's special for the fan though and take a minute regardless of their day or schedule. Axl and the other guys are usually super friendly to fans, hard to come by yes, but if you do not behave like an idiot neither do they. So in public or at a concert yes ok be a (decent) fan but otherwise just leave them the fuck alone and do not stalk them and do not invade their privacy.
  2. If GNR ever tours again and Steven is not available I wouldn't mind having this guy on drums. I doubt he's gonna do it for a tip though, this is world class drumming right there. Steven remains first choice though, no one plays GNR drums like him. Nothing against Frank, but I always felt he'd be a better fit (and more appreciated) in another band.
  3. As a European, I used to look up to America. Not anymore. You don't have to hate one thing to love another, but it's all just mere divide and conquer - and you embrace that with a passion without even thinking. Just look at this discussion here, it's a perfect example of that. Your votes don't mean shit as your POTUS is selected by the MIC, you are just cattle and cannon fodder to them. It's gonna be Michelle or Kamala next time. It's all they will offer you. And you gonna be good sheep and select whoever looks nicer on TV or caters most to your own bubble - only to end up with the same shit, just worse. "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss." You're all getting fooled, over and over again. Take a look around, read up on history and make up your mind. That being said, it's not any better in Europe.

  5. Pre-sale started 90 minutes ago as I'm typing this. They are already selling tickets for previously unannounced additional concerts in Hannover and Dresden, one hour after pre-sale began. And even those are almost sold out already.
  6. Tried to get one ticket for a friend. That pre-sale is absolutely laughable, iinsane, sad, twisted and just outright mean and evil. Eventim should be forever banned from selling tickets to such concerts.
  7. Brian is 76 years old. I cut him all the slack in the world showing up putting his heart into it and he always does. I think the best approach is like you said to treat it like a sendoff or celebration more than expecting a technically perfect performance. Power Trip was the first AC/DC show for Brian after a while and those hearing issues would pull the rug under any musicians carpet for a bit. I'm sure he'll be alright on this tour once the venues will be bursting with energy from the audiences. As for residencies I'm glad they do not do that and instead give fans around the world a chance to say goodbye and see them one last time. Even though I have decided to not go because of the lineup changes, I hope the tour is gonna be great for the band and the fans.
  8. How do you feel? I hope everyone is doing alright. If you read this, I wish you health, love, luck, prosperity, hope, faith, time and happiness.
  9. Don't know all of his work, but the Purple Rain album has a special place in my heart for many reasons. Amazing musician, still underrated and underappreciated, I miss him. Favourite songs? "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore?", "The Morning Papers", "Nothing Compares To You" and "Purple Rain".
  10. Lots of potential for interesting covers for sure. I always thought "Take The Long Way Home" by Supertramp would be a good cover choice.
  11. Bands going this long naturally will have different incarnations in order to keep going this long and each of that incarnation will be loved by some fans, despised by others and accepted by the masses as long as popularity is established the label is right. That being said, for me there's just enough AC/DC left in this lineup. The rhythm section is crucial to that AC/DC sound and having some "pros" fill in doesn't work for me. When they got Axl to fill in for Brian at least they got a real rock star. And when Axl got Buckethead and Ron at least he got us some real virtuosos. Those replacements in AC/DC might be fine musicians, but given the cultural impact and heritage of AC/DC among entire generations they are not enough. Cash grab? More like age and inability to let go, both on their side and the fans. I saw them with Malcolm, Cliff and Phil and to this day it remains one of the most cherished concerts of my life. I'd be an idiot to let the upcoming tour put a shadow on that memory. If Cliff and Phil would be on board, I would have attended at least one show to celebrate them and part of my own life. But with those guys? At this point? For those ticket prices? In those venues? In these times? No fucking way. Time to let go. And I say this with a heavy heart. I fucking love AC/DC.
  12. I don't mean to be disrespectful but outside the US no one really gives a shit about the Superbowl. The halftime is a freak show peak of decadence and self indulgence. No one in his right mind takes that shit seriously. It's like a caricature of the roman empire.
  13. Thanks, I didn't catch the confirmation of the lineup yet. You are right about the venues, it's summer - I just don't like any of those venues. They should have booked Goffertpark in Nijmegen instead of JC arena in Amsterdam but that's just me being picky looking at ticket prices these days I want the best and not a compromise. The lineup is the biggest reason for me to not go. Can't raise Malcolm from the dead but the rhythm section is what I love most about AC/DC and with Matt and Chris it's just too little AC/DC for me. I understand most people just want Angus, but for me it was all about their rhythm section (best in rock ever imo) and that is gone now. Hope everyone is having fun though. Last time I saw them was the Back In Black lineup with Malcolm and Phil so I'm kinda spoiled and rather let that be my last AC/DC concert.
  14. Dates are coming a little too late. Venues suck. Stadiums and fields only. Most EU shows in Germany. Only one show in the Netherlands. Lineup still uncertain, likely no Phil and no Cliff, just Angus and Brian plus replacements. Ticket prices likely an arm and a leg if you actually want to see them with your own eyes and not just on a screen. Hope it's gonna be great last tour and everyone's having fun but I'll pass.
  15. Duff filling in might increase chances of Axl joining Brian for a song or two at a show. However, I'd rather hear Cliff playing bass in AC/DC.
  16. Nothing is happening. Management contracted some cheap ass generation fuck all startup, then somebody typed in "the music group guns n' roses" + "skeletons" + "children" + "boys" + "dystopian urban landscape" + "night" + "neon colors" + "inspired by the movie Blade Runner" and then clicked on "morph with live footage" and "auto edit". The result is the "music video" of The General. There is nothing to "get" or understand. There is no direction, no cinematography, no acting, no storyboard, let alone a story or message to begin with. It's just what happens when people on very bad drugs living in their own bubbles are doing their thing totally disconnected from the outside world and their audience, hence their (in case of GNR non existent) reaction to the majority of initial reactions. They might have gotten the "artificial" part, but as far as "intelligence" goes they got a hell of a lot of living to do. I said it before, just think of what Michael Jackson would have done with AI technology. You don't have to be a fan of his to understand how far off the rails this band and their entourage of coked out yes men have already gone. I'm actually a little offended by contractors telling me I don't "get" a band I have already followed, recommended and supported 30+ years ago while the majority of those Starbucks hipsters were still shitting their diapers. I'm even more offended by the band not telling them to shut the fuck up. If anyone is in the position to tell people they don't get it, it's GNR not their coked out payroll people obviously not getting it themselves in the first place.
  17. If people need a third party "explanation on social media" for a music video, the music video is a failure. It's not about people getting it or not. It's about the creators making them get it or not. I don't know much about AI, but I know Guns N' Roses never needed to have any of their music videos explained to me by third party hipsters living in their own bubble in front of a fucking screen. If Michael Jackson was alive he'd show you how AI and music videos go together. And he surely wouldn't need a fucking third party explanation on social media for me to "get it".
  18. I like the song, but I like it better when Axl sings it. Slash's "improvising" is an annoyance. Just play the damn solo as it's supposed to be played. It's part of the song. You want to improvise join a fucking jazz band or something.
  19. Why do they bother making this at all? The hip crowd won't pay attention anyway because it's GNR and the old school crowd won't watch it again because it's, well, GNR. GNR is known for GREAT music videos, November Rain being one of the most (the most?) watched music videos ever. The stuff they've put out on YouTube since the reunion feels like they are not even trying. I liked what they did for the Perhaps video - shots from live concerts, some backstage and touring footage, some fan reactions, nicely shot and edited. Works for me, even if it's just an average song for GNR standards, the video lifts the song up a notch. The General is not a great song in the first place and the video doesn't make the song any better.
  20. So they upgraded them interns from Windows '95 to Windows '98. Video doesn't make the song any better for me. I still don't like it. Why can't they just put out something normal, eye pleasing and viewer friendly like the Perhaps video? Don't like the song Perhaps, but the video is nice, way better than this one.
  21. Has it ever been done live by Axl or is this a first, like an original GNR song played live for the first time ever without Axl?
  22. I don't listen to any of that shit. When I listen to GNR it's usually CD, UYI II, AFD or live bootlegs.
