  1. I didn’t see their set unfortunately, as I bumped into some old friends outside the venue, and didn’t go in until they finished
  2. Slash said at the end of 2022, that they'll do one more US Summer 2023 tour, then focus on writing/recording a new GN’R album. Well, that’s come and gone, with nothing further said or confirmed, and now both Slash and Duff are busy doing their solo stuff well into 2024, with talk of another SMKC album late this year or for 2025. They can keep stringing us along, but we’re probably never getting a new GN’R album. Even though it’s a covers album, seeing how easy and professionally Slash is able to promote and actually release an album, just proves how stupid it makes GN’R look, all things considered…
  3. Since seeing Slash live in Sydney recently, I’ve revisited the 4 album, and I’m liking (even loving) it way more than when it first came out. Something about hearing the songs played live, has given me a much greater appreciation of them. I’d even go as far as saying that 4 is a really great album, when I mostly thought it was a bit meh, outside of the opening track and Fill My World.
  4. Eager to hear this. If it’s blues covers like what he was doing back with his Blues Ball band back in the 90’s, this could very well be fantastic.
  5. It’s pretty hard to judge since we haven’t heard any of it yet. And really, Slash has said next to nothing about it, so as not to overhype it. So I don’t know what you were expecting?
  6. Reported by Slashfrance, the album is 12 tracks of blues covers, and comes out in May.
  7. That’s just Slash jamming with Rose Tattoo. I’m surprised he’s waited to the last show of the Aussie tour to do that.
  8. Sydney was great. An almost full house, by the time SMKC hit the stage. And the crowd seemed to love every minute of it. Songs that seemed to get the biggest response were Back From Cali, Starlight, Bent To Fly, Fill My World, and of course Anastasia. I was a little disappointed not to hear Don’t Damn Me, but to hear the debut of Bad Apples was a cool substitute! Overall thoughts of the show - SMKC play a tight, no bullshit, 2 hour rock show. Slash is still the king of riffs, but his solos are a bit all over the place. I wonder if age is catching up with him, because he seems to noodle or shred through most everything now. Especially the slow melodic solos that don’t call for it. That said, it was still a great show, and I’ve come away with a bigger appreciation of the 4 album songs, as they all sounded great live. And the rest was kind of like a best of SMKC.
  9. Anyone here attend the show in Adelaide last night? I’m wondering if they did anything to mix up the set for Australia
  10. My wife got me a ticket for Saturday’s show in Sydney after I’d been unsure about going, and now I’m pretty psyched about it. SMKC are a solid band and always put on a good show. I’m just hoping Slash gets the Don’t Damn Me solo right instead of just noodling it
  11. Can I just say how awesome it is that Don’t Damn Me has finally been played?! Don't Damn Me is one of the holy grails of GN’R songs I’ve wanted to hear live, and Slash is doing it smart playing it with SMKC, a tight professional band that won’t fuck it up like you know GN’R would… Great to see Perfect Crime and Bad Apples as alternates in that space too.
  12. I’m still convinced that the outro of Monsters actually melds from Slash’s lead guitar, into some of Robin’s playing - the last 10-15 seconds of the track. It sounds like some of the stuff that Robin plays in Street of Dreams.
  13. The track Hope with Slash on it, seems to be the exact same version from his unreleased solo album from 1997, Beautiful Disease. Edit, maybe the vocals are new? I can’t tell.
  14. Finally watching Only Murders in the Building. Half way through season 2 and loving it. Glad there will be another season coming out too
  15. I love TMNT, and this looks like a lot of fun. My own kids now love TMNT too, so I’ll go with them to see it and hopefully we all enjoy it.
  16. It’s hilarious how the band can continue to lead fans on by saying they’re doing something “special”, then don’t. Other bands don’t do this to their fans, but when GN’R do, it’s always the fans fault not the band. That’s all good and fine. And I’m glad they had their own personal “special” experience. But to put it out there to social media that they’re doing something “special” and then the show is the same as every other show, that’s misleading is it not?
  17. So they say on their socials “this one’s gonna be special”, then proceed to do nothing “special”
  18. The first album might be raw, but it’s not distorted to fuck like this shit is.
  19. The album has some good songs, but it’s ruined by the absolute horrible production/mix. I don’t understand why they would purposely choose to put something out that sounds so bad.
  20. 4tus being his usual cryptic dickhead self. “and something else you don’t know about” Just fuck off with your carrot dangling shit.
  21. I never heard that. I only ever read in interviews that it was an Axl solo piece dating back to when he was quoted about in magazines in 1994.
  22. Um, no he didn’t. Where did you get that info?
  23. I don’t get this. Why would you go to see GN’R and want to hear more Melissa vocals over Axl’s? I’d gladly take full helium Mickey Axl over Melissa any day.
