  1. I think people are getting a clearer picture of the situation. You can't fake integrity or pick and choose. Look at Steven shooting his mouth off and the disrespect shown to the CD era. Look at it from Axls point of view, would you play with people who tried to destroy you?

Destroy him? That's a tad much no? It's Adler, he says dumb shit all the time, the guys down and out, can you blame him? He forgave Axl for tossing him out of the band, Axl should do the same. Suck it up.

    - Axl had the most professional and best in the business, at the end of the day though, he's still boss, they say something smart but he disagrees.... fired. End of that issue.

    - Beta and her spawn clearly hate Slash as much as Axl does. Beta is now managing Axl. If the old band got together would Beta be managing? Hell no. So, Beta is like his mother... her family like his family... they hate Slash... Beta's current income and standing professionally depend on no reunion with Slash, etc.... it's not hard to see Her family DOES have influence on his decisions, clearly as family does. It's also not hard to see her family DOESN'T respect Slash and DOES have self interest in keeping things the way they are.

Clearly I'm making some assumptions but those dots are so big and so easy to connect if you think about it. If he's getting influenced by either a ) family b ) management c ) people he is around a lot of the time then it's obvious the influence will be to keep the course, fuck Slash, and fuck the old band as a, b and c are the same fucking people.

Exactly. These people are bad news. Axl is so afraid of being manipulated, well, that's exactly what's happening.

"These people" have been putting the tour together since late 2009. They have done a great job at it as well. They just need to get legal shit out of the and start RELEASING MUSIC!!!!

They tell Axl everything he wants to hear. That's not a great job IMO. The "legal shit" is another mysterious roadblock in the endless quagmire of Axl's life. It's bullshit.

  2. If he wanted money, he would do a reunion.

I bet he makes as much if not more money under his current arrangement.

He gets all the money to himself minus what salary he pays his employees.

In a reunion he would be giving the other guys a far bigger percentage than he is paying out now.

They would sell more tickets, but his cut would be smaller percentage wise by alot than what he is getting now (everything).

Yep. It would be interesting to know how much the current guys make. I wonder if any of them will ever dish on Axl in the future, or we're they made to sign contracts? I want to call out Jarmo for censoring his board. What is with these people kissing Axl's ass? If you can dish it out Axl, you should be able to take it.

  4. Well, Axl.

If you're going to be so fucking childish that you refuse to be inducted with the 'old band'... Stop playing their fucking songs.

If you're so happpy with the new members.... let them do something off their own backs, that is worthy of the name.

Sorry, but he comes across as a deluded, whining, ungrateful, spiteful old bitch. And other than the usual fanboys on here, everyone knows it.

    LA

It would have taken guts to show up without Beta holding his hand.

  5. Though I am dissapointed that he won't attend, I must say that I respect Axl's adherence to his principles. We may disagree, but he stands up for what he believes in, regardless of the fall out or backlash. The man has more guts that I will ever have.

It would have taken guts to show up without Beta holding his hand.

  6. jarmo quote:

"You start a band, people join, the band becomes successful, people leave, they want the band to die, you keep going on, get new guys in who share your vision, you keep going, you're trying to get the train back up and running, you spend years on it, getting the right parts, getting everybody to work together, it's a long ride, you get to a point where you feel proud of what you accomplished after everything you've been through and somebody comes along saying "Congratulations! We will honor what you did 20-25 years ago, but we couldn't care less what you've been doing for the past 15 years! Smile!"."

That is so lame. They haven't done anything. A bunch of hired musicians in it for the cash, playing other people's songs and doing whatever Axl tells them.

  7. The guy has fans 10 times more loyal than the yes men and women he surrounds himself with and he shits on us everytime. Being a fan of Axl is like having an alcoholic relative - constant broken promises and let downs

It's been constant heartache for years, especially watching Axl do this to himself. I think it's a mental illness, but the people around him don't help and those who do try and challenge him are quickly vilified and shut out.

  8. Love it when Axl goes off on a tangent like that, always interesting to hear his thoughts and that makes a lot of sense and imo the right decision, GNR is very alive and proving folks wrong and Axl still has fire for that band.

You think Axl wrote more than a few words of that? LOL. That was done by his "yes men" AKA Beta and family. Think of the $$$ they have sucked outta him.

I believe he wrote it. It sounds exactly like him. Even his public statements are longwinded.

  9. Eddie Trunk

I've forever said someone needs to stand up to the Hall & not cave to them & I love @axlrose did! This sends a great message to them!

I know Eddie feels strong about this. I am glad Axl has some good support.

OK so now we can add the "Hall" as another enemy. Fucking christ almighty I thought it was pathetic when Dr Pepper was the bad guy. Is it possible for anyone to come into contact with Axl Rose and him not feel persecuted in some way or another.

Big agreement with the above statement^

"Since the announcement of the nomination we've actively sought out a solution to what, with all things considered, appears to be a no win, at least for me, "damned if I do, damned if I don't" scenario all the way around." What does this sentence MEAN?!?! Old GN'R are up for it and I've seen in interviews that current GN'R members have no problem with it, so it's classic Axl bullshit.

I bet he would have made some excuse to not go even if somehow in the future it's the new version of GN'R got inducted.

I just realized Axl said "all things considered" lolololololol

  10. i don't understand why he keeps refering to his former bandmates wanting reunion?

who does? Duff is doing his thing, Slash is doing his thing, Izzy is probably not doing anything and doesn't want to do anything, it's just Steven who's failing at doing his thing.

it just seems he doesn't live the present and is stuck with the past, grudges and everything he's not moving forward and it actually is embarrasing to see for a "dude" his age.

i don't think it's necessarily former bandmates that he's referring to. it's the biz side that's wants one so badlly - managers, promoters, etc. there is a lot of money to be made from a reunion for those types of people, and i think that's who he's referring to.

Axl is obviously paranoid, and I think Slash has just become the symbol of all of these "threats" to him. The people that surround Axl now just cater to his delusions rather than try and help him.

  11. The fact that so many who think they have a right to demand a reunion have decided Axl must be pissed about the old guys being honored, despite the fact that he SPECIFICALLY said he doesn't begrudge them their achievements or accolades just reenforces how deluded they are.

To me, his letter said he didn't begrudge the old guys their acheivements, but then goes on to use the word "we" in reference to GnR (meaning the new guys) and saying the rrhof didn't respect his wishes. He actually thought he was going to bring the new band there. That's insane. GnR is being inducted because of AforD, the original songs with the original guys.

The new band is not a real band okay? They play old songs and Axl calls every shot, it's his fantasy world and they just live in it. I've always loved Axl, but the truth is, he's a tragedy.

  12. I knew Axl would do this. The guy just doesn't bend. And the situation was more than he could face I'm afraid. It is sad though, it would have been better if he just didn't show up and kept silent, but this statement really casts a sad pallor over the whole affair. That's the pain of loving Axl Rose. I've felt it many times over the years. I hope he can live with this decision. And I hope the rest of the guys are able to pull together and bring in some friends to put on a show with.

  13. A concert audience full of thousands of people is an uncontrollable variable. Obviously! Especially when they are pissed off after sitting around waiting.....and for what? because Axl, who has all goddam day to get ready, can't get onstage on time?

Some audience members might throw shit, BFD. A professional performer, knows how to handle the situation and get the crowd on their side. Axl, OTOH, acts like an unprofessional baby, who wants to punish everyone after everything doesn't go his way. It's becoming more and more ridiculous.

There are performers who inspire love and respect from their audiences, without resorting to threats or temper tantrums. It's just shameful that anyone would try and defend this. Enough already.

  14. It doesn't matter what anyone's responsibilities are (and most of us have them, especially us middle age folk), but it's completely disrespectful and unneccessary! to keep paying ticket holders waiting for an hour or more. He's not a superstar anymore, people aren't going to take that shit. Again, it's not the eighties, people are used to getting things instantaneously, and any diva move Axl makes in concert goes viral right away.

People should just stop trying to make excuses for it, the guy has obvious mental issues, but he is going to bankrupt himself through lawsuits, if he doesn't stop walking off stage. His band (paid players) will quit out of embarrassment and he will find it extremely hard to ever book a tour again. He has surrounded himself with Beta and the like, who don't give him the reality check he so desperately needs.

I appreciate his talent, but it sure is hard to watch it all pissed away year after year.

  15. I don't hear any Axl, unless he's the backing track on the chorus, but it's impossible to tell on this mix, and if he was, so what? It's barely anything, why even have him on the song if you can't hear him? Everything else is just Bach.

It does sound like old Skid Row, which were never really my cup of tea.

  16. You people are so naive. If stars like Axl stopped and said hello and signed autographs, shook hands and kissed babies every time someone wanted them to they would never do anything else. The band members stopped because they're not famous, it's a big deal to them.

Just because that moment is important to you, doesn't mean it is to the celebrity. When people actually do have interactions with Axl, I believe most have said he's cordial.

  17. Christ, where do all the retards on this board come from? I'm hardly an Axl apologist, but TWAT is a great song.

The beginning is hardly hip hop, you reveal yourself as a simpleton stuck in the eighties, if you believe that. Even Fiona Apple (another recluse bordering on genius) uses beats like that.

Axl will get beat on by a lot of people because of his reputation, that's just the way it is.

How anyone can like Estranged, a "nice" song, but with too many stanzas and little originality, and then not like TWAT is beyond me.

  18. Saying that this is better than it is pretty odd, as you are comparing a band that has produced nada bar a criticly bashed single and about 20 odd live shows to a group that produced 5 studio albums (not including greatest hits or Live Era) and had one of the longest, largest tours in history.

It's the same guy who was the main songwriter on both songs, and yeah, TWAT is better.
