He has also given us lots of promises about the new music that never happened. Maybe he has learned his lessons!

Hopefully he's learned his lesson - it would be hilarious if his signature Falcon takes like 8 more years to be released

In Richard's defense, he's probably just tired of the question. He's had the same answer since 2002 and he's probably just sick of people asking.

His answer should be "Ask Axl" We all know the meaning of that kind of answer. Or he can also ignore the question if he is tired of it.

Fair enough. I do think his answer was kind of dick-ish, to be honest.

Agree. But don't ask him anything GN'R related. If there is an album coming up. Believe me, we won't get the news from him. How did we find out about the reunion? Rumors from the media that nobody from the GN'R camp denied. And when they were ready. They made an official announcement.

It’s worth noting he got arsey to me over nstagram messages too when I messaged to ask about the potential for me stuff whilst also saying I got tickets for the London show. I’m not going to post it though out of respect.

I think his answer was tongue in cheek. Trying to be clever and funny

not mean spirited.

I would if I had the $$, Falcons are fantastic and I really enjoy Richards timbre. But Falcons costs more than a house in my third world country

Anyways, in Richards defense, the guy asked if any new "stuff" would be released he didnt ask for music.

Fortus was kind of a dick about it for sure but I’d rather that kind of response than false promises at this point anyways honestly.

1, Richard‘s post once again approves that irony does not work in writing. If you would have seen him smile whilst giving that answer, you would have laughed instead of crying how rude and mean he is. I met him in person and can tell you that he isn’t. He is one nice and gentle guy who takes his time to talk to fans.

2. If Fernando Potato (or whatever his name is) isn’t even able to ask his question in a clear way, let alone in a charming way, I totally get that 4tus had zero motivation to give any response in such a way. I laughed about his answer. In fact, it was clever ... other than the previous harsh and unspecified question.

This, it must be very frustrating for these guys who I'm sure would be wayyy keen to create music and put an album out every now and then with GnR. Like the good ol' days when they were growing up and they were young music fans too. Obviously the world is a much different place now but still these guys are in their 50's and creating songs and putting out albums is probably something very dear to them. Too bad the label, or Axl, whatever can't get their shit together...

What a mad band when you have Fortus, who has been a member for eighteen years, and furthermore Dizzy Read, member for 30 years, and they have about as much idea on a new album as I do.

The only thing holding up an album is Axl.

Literally everyone else in the band has released a lot of albums. Slash released one album after another, Duff released a solo album and Loaded albums. Even Fortus released music with another band.

Wasn't Dizzy releasing an album too? (edit: he did, in 2018... I'll give it a listen)

But yeah... the only one who is not releasing new music is Axl.

The rest of the band would just release a straight up rock record within a year. But then Axl would think it's not good enough and start tinkering with it. And then he would bring in other people again... and then nothing will happen for years and everyone would leave the band.

It's Axl. He is the problem, not the solution.

They should get another vocalist and call it VR2 or something

I thought it was a good humoured response.

His other options were:

‘We hope to get an album out next year.’ Because that always works out well for him.

‘No.’ Which doesn’t fit in with the marketing for the tour.

This shouldn't be the debate. It doesn't matter if he was funny or if he was a jerk.

It is a waste of time to ask Fortus, Melissa or Frank about a new album. Assuming they know something, they will not make any announcement in their social media.

Some/many people may not know that. Casuals (muggles). It's like that "what's SCOM, and where's Sweet Child O' Mine" person. They'll always be asking.

Forum members (this one or any other) are not casuals. Even if some of them are, they can find information around forums. Besides I can't imagine casuals asking for a new album. You said it yourself. They would ask about SCOM or something like that.

The irony work in writing if you write it with suspension points, but Fortus don't put it.

Maybe I'm just being delusional but that response has a similar vibe to Axl's "only thing confirmed is my love of taco bell" comments just before the reunion was announced to me. :wow::wow:

"Perhaps you are wrong. Hey, hey,"

Would be cool though

Didn't know it is a forum member.
