OK people, this is a LONG thread, wrote in a good happy mood.

So, you're warned.

Also sorry 4 my english and my sucky shitty grammar.

Hello my dear Forum Members.

Wooo, it's so many years I don't post round here... I used to have another username.

But I read the forum EVERY-F***N-DAY.

So, i'm like a ghost...

Ok, let's talk about this, cause it's a quite interesting thread.

Let's go back in time, waaaaaay back in time.

The 90s... Yeaaaah! Nirvana, Seinfeld, conspirative new hippies, CDs, porn magazines... And of course, Use Your Illusion.

Guns and Roses was a big, BIG, BIIIIIIIIIG band, with a lot of singers, classical instruments, slashes playing mafia songs, A Teddy-Andreadis bear, one REALLY LOVED drummer (>:D), punk bass players with "Attitude".

They played some pretty good covers during the tour.

I remember Rundgren's Dust in the Wind, Guns' version of that song is just amazing, can make me cry.

It's allright, the "Lennon-like" song of Sabbath, played by the Drummer Billy Ward... If that song were recorded by John Lennon, ATM it would be a classic.

Axl made "It's allright" a beautiful GNR song, come on... I know you still listen that version many times a week.

So... Talking about unreleased songs.

What do you think about "It tastes good, don't it?"

Oh yeah, that's mothafuckin ROCK N ROLL!!!

1994... BOOM!!!! The GNR bomb exploded.

Sympathy for Tobias... And then, no more Slash and Duffy.

No life signs about W.A.R.

Blur... When I feel heavy metal, Woo hoooh!

1999 ----> OMG

Y2K

2001...

New band, bitch3z!!!

Bucket, a screaming goth and Mr Paul "I don't like Slash" Tobias in the guitars.

Tommy Who in the bass, Pinky and the Brain in the drum machine, Chris Pitman in the backing keyboards...

Dizzy and Micky Fat Axl Mouse Rose.

Good year! 4 concerts! 2 in january, 2 in december.

New songs, yaaaay! African Island, Oklahoma (yeah, we all know Rhiad is Oklahoma, accept it), the Blues (Ok, nevermind!)

And some new thing called... Silkworms... o_o?

yeah, Silkworms... "LISTEN MOTHERFUCKERS..." The only words I remember of that song.

But it's a hell of a song!... Industrial rock. Probably better than OMG.

Did we get any Full-Band covers durng 2001? I think not.

Next year, finally, a world tour!

2002... Brazil won the World Cup for the last time, no Roger Federer and still the first Bush era.

Britney Spears, online porn...

Afghanistan war, Bin Laden, and a GNR World Tour.

What do we get...

A little... Unrealeased song called "Axl Intro Song" before November rain...

It then would be called "Prostitute".

Another unreleased song... "The Asshole Song", probably the best GNR tune ever.

Please, refresh my memory, was any "Full-band" cover played in 2002?

Ok, Axl still in his Mickey Mouse mood, and Richard Fortus is the new member, nothing more to say.

between 2002 and 2006 a vortex absorved Axl Rose and he passed those 4 years in Mars.

And Rihanna released Umbrella.

Hey, it's 2006!

And our friend WAR decided to tour again the world.

Cool! No south America, so here in Argentina we're still "New-Guns-Virgin".

"Hey look, Axl's voice is back!"

Well, 2006 tour, the unreleased song is still "prostitute".

Guns n Roses play in New York and Madrid a song called "There was a Bumblefoot", that 2 versions are now diamonds in the rough.

And we enter YouTube once a week to watch that video.

Talking about covers... Axl had a good idea, and he went sailing.

And today, that cover is one of the bests in GNR history. WHAT-A-VOICE.

Bring me 2007.

2007 = Mexico, Japan, Oceania.

Sailing... Liquor and Whores... How cool is that?

Ohhhh, I love guns.

2008, FINALLY, Dr Pepper paid Axl to release Chinese Democracy.

MONUMENTAL PROMOTION!!!!!

Rumours about Axl's death.

That was pretty cool, here in Argentina, so many people really believed Axl Rose was dead.

Hey look! it's 2009, and Guns will tour Asia... Cool!

Ok, longest concert ever, finally we can hear chinese democracy full songs (Y U NO PLAY OKLAHOMA ANYMOR?)

Catcher in the Rye with Bryan May as a guest... OH SORRY! Did I hurt your feelings?

2009-2011.

The ACDC covers are back!!! Whole lotta Wosie and now, the brand new cover Riffar.

And we have no unreleased song! Only a snippet in the intro of what is probably "The General".

Ahhhh... That was fun, to remember those beautiful years.

But... Keep thinking about that. GNR are playing really long cool shows.

The band is sounding AWESOME, but we have no unreleased songs...

We still can have one of the best RNR moments in history when they cover ACDC.

(I mean, Guns N Roses covering ACDC, come on!)

But what about the unreleased... We wanna hear Silkworms, Thyme or "Yo bitch, i'monna rip yo shit".

What do you thnk, fellow MyGnr members?

Will we hear new shit soon?

I think putting a couple covers on CD II would be awesome. like Whole Lotta Rosie and Sailing studio versions.

As much as I would like to hear studio versions of those songs I don't think a new album would be the right place to put them on. I would rather have a full length album of original material written by GNR

Although I would love to see them record Sailing and Whole Lotta Rosie and release them as an iTunes EP or something. Or as a free download to people who buy tickets for the tour

If they want to go for a ca$h grab, which I'm sure they don't, becuase Axl's an artist..

There's the option of an easy Live album. Zero effort required by all :D

They could release a covers album, another easy option.

They could could release a covers album covering the classic (the best) GN'R line up (Izzy, Adler, Slash, Duff, Axl). I would rather here the mix feat. Buckethead, Robin Finck, and Brain.

Maybe Axl work out some vocals and do a UYI, and release 2 or 3 CD's worth of music that didn't make it onto Chinese Democracy.

An all out 100% album by the current line up is a long way off, so far off, I doubt it will ever happen.

I would like to hear CD II as it was recorded god knows how many years back. Release that unaltered with Buckethead, Finck, and Brain in there. Nothing against Bumblefoot and Frank but there contributions to CD didn't make the songs any better. Then it would be cool if this new band created their own songs, a straight ahead old school rock record which seems to be the style that matches this band and stay away from the dated industrial sound.

I'd be willing to place a small wager that the encore jams on this tour could be developed into songs, or they may be teasers for something new already. Personally, I really enjoyed the one before Madagascar in Orlando. Don't know if any videos are out for it yet. It was a full band dreamy, dark tune...

Oklahoma is not Riad. Oklahoma later became Berlin if I am not mistaken. I believe Axl told us this.

I've always thought that was Shackler's Revenge..?

Because the Shackler was kinda the Oklahoma bomber, så I connected those two parts together...

No, it's an unreleased song. Read the Axl Rose chats. I'm sure someone here has a link.

An all out 100% album by the current line up is a long way off, so far off, I doubt it will ever happen.

You have inside info?

what record company would fund another album ?

..taking into account Chinese Democracy + Axl's age

Well, probably a lot of them.

Knowing an album will sell 3-5 million copies......that's not too shabby.

Knowing they would be dealing with someone who gets through managers faster than Amy Winehouse gets through vodka.

Never knowing when the album will be completed 'this year.. next year.. 10 - 15 years.. ?..'

Knowing the previous album failed to contain 1 single hit.

That's a long term investment. And at the end of it.. will Rose bother to promote the thing, and be fit enough tour ?

If Best Buy hadn't come along when they did, what would have become of Chinese Democracy ?

Amazon sell Chinese Democracy for £2.25 these days. Once the die hards picked up a copy (or 10 in some cases) the sales dropped off. Without a hit single, the album ran out of life. AFD, UYI fetch higher prices, maybe because they contain songs that play on the radio still to this day.

All of that and even a guy like you sticks around.

Doesn't matter who bought it, or how many copies they bought. It still sold 3.5 to 5 million copies. And they still make money as a touring band.

So in your little negative world, if GnR starts shopping another album....no studios will take a chance.

Wow.
