No idea what to think. Checking some of his past work shows he's gotten good critical reception but on totally different movies (aka non-mainstream).

SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO THINK!

I will happily tell you what to think. ;)

I think it is a blessing in disguise.

First, the delay. No more rushed jobs and it’ll be nice to have a break from the November window finally. Give them some time to really knock it into shape.

Cary is a director/writer who is used to television deadlines so he’ll definitely fit in with the Bond team and working under pressure. Getting him to polish the P&W script means we’ll probably end up with a better film than whatever Boyle wanted. Casino Royale and Skyfall both started life as P&W scripts with some refinement later on.

I was never totally crazy on the idea of a Boyle Bond. Cautiously optimistic, and then when he dropped out I feared the film could end up being a production he’ll disaster. Now we’re back on track and arguably in a better position than we were.

And if they decide they want a film out for 2022 we’re all but guaranteed Craig will do one more after this one. There’s no way they rush cast a new Bond to fast track a film for the 60th.

I just hope the next villain won't have anything personal connected, nor the Bond girl be a daughter of a henchman. Oh and no rape.

You would think that last part would be the easiest to forgo, yet the last two movies have been amongst the worst in the entire series for those type of scenes.

They need to bring back the character of JAWS and they need to modernize him; a hitman who wears silver chompers. More than that, they need to cast Michael Shannon.

Image result for michael shannon jaws

Michael says several times a week, people tell him he looks like Jaws, so, this is no strech.

Hey, if they're going to bring back Blofeld, they've got a golden opportunity here to do something retro with one of today's best.

I really loved Skyfall. But that scene just proves that even in 2012, attitudes towards sex hasn't changed much since Goldfinger (another favorite of mine) when Bond raped Pussy in the barn.

I have a hard time staying awake during Spectre, but the director announcement has me intrigued.

I went with a friend who has watched a few marathon showings of Bond with me before and she literally fell asleep during Spectre at the theater.

I was yawning pretty heavily.

It is flawed, not to the extent that Quantum was, but still flawed nonetheless. To be honest I didn't like the whole premise of everything being connected, including the villains from all the Craig films, as well as Bond and Blofeld's lineage. It was all a bit forced and too coincidental, all a bit ''Star Wars prequelly'' (e.g. Vader building C3PO!).

Aabsolutely. Tying in Blofeld to Quantom could have been cool but it was handled very poorly. Also linking Silva was juat stupid. It all felt like a cheap throwaway line without being thought out

"Oh by the way, we are brothers. Also, did I mention all the other bad guys and your misfortunes were planned by me to a T? Bwahahaha"

...and then its never elaborated on again

He really was the best. Licence to Kill was what a James Bond film should be, it had grit

I really loved both Dalton era Bond films. Wish we'd have gotten a couple more from him.

I couldn't give a fuck, ain't seen a Bond film in yonks though I think the idea is stupid.  The character is clearly a fuckin' white man so why have a black fella playing him?  Now I get its a fictional character so you can play with the format etc but what for?  I mean whats the reason for having a black fella be Bond?

I just think Idris Elba is mint. There's nothing about the Bond character that absolutely necessitates he be played by a white man though.

Yes there is!

He is of Scottish-Swiss descent, Andrew Bond, of Glencoe, and Monique Delacroix, of Canton de Vaud. Ian Fleming envisioned him thus,

Clearly not a ''fella brother''.

Well he looks fuck all like any of the onscreen Bonds so what's the difference?
