here's my personal take on the bond franchise.

the last james bond movie that I enjoyed was moonraker. I don't care what the critics say, silly story and all, moore was in fine doing and it was entertaining at least. I mean, it had jaws (who goes through one of the most interesting vilain - good guy evolutions ever)! Even with the silly star wars stuff, the movie didn't hold it's audience for idiots. Likewise, 95 % of the movies that came before are some of my favorite movies ever. So much classics, so much classic moments, so much humour and attitude.

After moonraker, it went downhill really fast. "for your eyes only" was a turd of a movie with that annoying "bibi" character. I cringe, just thinking about it. octopussy was a borefest, a view to a kill had too little roger moore, and after that they changed actors anyway and no one could reach the heights moore and connery had set.

The only good thing to come out after moonraker, was a video game: goldeneye 007 on the N64.

After Moonraker I enjoyed A View to a Kill. I mean Moore was a little long in the tooth but it was a solid Bond movie. I really liked both the Dalton movies and Brosnan was a good Bond but all his films were shit with the exception of Goldeneye. Craig has been mostly solid with only Quantum of Solace being a real stinker so far.

It is an advertisement for paedophilia, that film.

don't you mean for your eyes only? that's the one that had bibi, who didn't look a day over 15

I like Octopussy for one of the most unpolitically correct scenes in cinematic history. Bond wins at roulette and hands the cash to his Indian sidekick: ''should keep you in curry for a few months''.

I remember a scene where someone introduced a female doctor or pilot or whatever to bond, and he went "a woman?"

I always have to laugh with that scene. Not for the gross sexist nature of it, but for the thought of all the feminist tears this must have provoked

They reveal too much in that trailer. It is obvious Dr. Madeleine Swann, the love interest from Spectre, betrays him somehow in an escapade connected with her past - and resembling Vesper.

My thoughts exactly. Wonder why they get the need to reveal that already in the first trailer.

Back in the 80's women doctors weren't as common as they are today. So Bond would be surprised. If anything it was progressive to have a woman doctor in the films. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Isn't it strange they haven't announced the song yet?

Daniel Craig seems excited in the interviews after the trailer was released. Big 180 from Spectre where he just wanted to go home. I think he is really proud of this one.

He'll be liking filming Bond to a bout of arse cancer soon enough

So far he seems good.

The fact they were able to wrap up the filming and get it out by April is amazing. It seems Fukunaga was the right choice to direct after all.

A lot of fans are speculating that Rami's character Safin is actually Dr. No. Hence the title, NO Time to Die

I think he’ll be heavy in homage to Dr. No, but I’m not sure if he’ll actually be Dr. No yet. But there’s a lot of imagery that evokes Dr. No - the lair, the hazmat suits, the Caribbean setting, Safin’s hands have been obscured in everything we’ve seen.

honestly I’m really happy with this trailer. I had my doubts about this one up until now; Craig’s attitude after SPECTRE, the development issues, the filming delays, the title, the first teaser poster - nothing was making me feel confident. But this trailer looks great. I’m so happy they’re not ditching Blofeld again right away, and Waltz looks menacing in the trailer. I’m confident now that this will be a very worthy way of completing Craig’s tenure as Bond.

With all the problems the film had with production it is amazing how they were able to get it all done by October.

I found it a bit underwhelming. It just looks like a load of recycled stuff from the previous Craig Bonds. Traitorous girlfriend with a dodgy past? Didn't we do that with Vesper? Black female woke type thing highlighting Bond's ''toxic masculinity''? We had that a bit with Moneypenny also. Bond in retirement? Skyfall. Dr No? Well we already resurrected Blofeld in Spectre and that was rubbish.

Bond didn't retire in Skyfall. He was presumed dead.

The tropes of Craig's Bond now seem bland and boring, whereas Connery/Moore's tropes seemed familiar and fun.

Craig looks as though he isn't even having the slightest bit of fun, and I can't blame him after watching Bond regress to an oafish, lumbering brute after Casino Royale.

Then again,  I've never had much regard for Barbara and Michael G's sense of stewardship.

Such was obvious when they started filming Tomorrow Never Dies without a finished script.
