I think Axl sounds better overall on this most recent version of CITR than at L'Arc. There's no question.

Ron's solo at L'Arc is what made that performance great, as well as the L'Arc performance in general (best Rosie ever).

GNR now uses the isolated guitar cabs. They switched right around the time Axl went from singing with rasp to not, so it helped him be able to hear himself over the guitar. So if you go to a GNR show you could most likely just hear the guitar itself without distortion if you're up close because there's no live cabs on stage.

Also GNR has theee best quality of equipment. In the Richard thread you see that they were able to test out everything under the sun and go with what they liked best.

What is an isolated guitar cab? Besides allowing Axl to hear himself better what exactly is different? I saw guns in Toronto in 2010 and that show by FAR had the best overal sound u could hear Axl clear as a bell. Then I saw them in 2011 in orlando and greenvile and UCAP in 2012 Orlando all those shows the sound was never as good as Toronto. Not that it was bad but Axl was definetly buried in the mix more.
