What Would Your Set List Be For 2014?

Recommended Posts

We all have strong opinions on the set list and what songs they should be playing so... If you were in charge of the South American tour and you had total control of the set list. What would it be? Here's my go!

1. CD

2. WTTJ

3. Its So Easy

4. Nightrain

5. This I love

6. Better

- Interlude for Axl to get his breath back! Happy to watch Fortus tear the shit out of something cool, don't care what.

7. Don't Cry

8. November Rain

9. Estranged

10. Rocket Queen

11. IRS

12. Ballad of Death - SCOM

13. You Could Be Mine

14. Nice Boys

- Interlude for Axl to get changed or put a new hat on, maybe squeeze into the old white cycling shorts. Maybe a Tommy or Bumble song

15. Madagascar

16. Twat

17. Locomotive

18. Civil War

19. Yesterdays

20. Going Down

21. Prostitute

22. Paradise City

I think this would really freshen the set up. I love the idea of playing the first three songs from Appetite near the beginning of the set, the trilogy in the middle in order and three illusion two songs near the end. CD is a great opener when you are there watching and Paradise City should always be the closer.

22 new songs
and then Atlas and The General

That would be fuckin cool. That would be Round 2 and the world would turn his back to see what Axl is doing again.

By playin' appetite, uyi and some chinese his only getting money... But NOTHING else. AND I ALWAYS EXPECTED GUNS to be SOMETHING ELSE

All of Chinese Democracy, new songs, and maybe two old songs.

And why? Well, it would be nice to see Axl not living off of songs written by former band-members.

He should really just let the past go and head forward by playing new material or just reunite with the old line-up.

Now, would I pay to see such a show? Absolutely not, as the songs don't interest me in the slightest. But I would gain alot of respect for Axl.

I did say realistic right? What are you expecting? 20 new songs? LOLLLLLLLL

^^remove LALD and play Atlas instead

I said realistic...we all know Atlas won't be played.

That's like telling Megadeth to stop playing Symphony, Peace Sells, Holy Wars, Hanger 18 etc....

Yeah there would be a riot.

Freshen up the set-list a bit.

Drop all covers, including Heaven and LALD.

Stop having so many solo spots. Nobody is coming to a show to see DJ or Dizzy play a solo spot.

Ditch CD and Sorry. And sorry, but maybe let So Easy and brownstone take a year off.

That gives the band room for basically 10-12 new songs.

4 brand new songs that we haven't heard yet

And add some new old blood: OMG, Yesterdays, Perfect Crime, Breakdown, Down On The Farm, Don't Damn Me, IRS, Prostitute, - pick a few of those. Is anybody going to ask for their money back if the band plays Perfect Crime instead of It's So Easy at one show?

Staples:

Better, SOD, Catcher, TWAT, TIL and Shackler's

Jungle, SCOM, Par City, Nightrain

You Could Be Mine, November Rain, Estranged, Don't Cry

Patience, You're Crazy

CD and Sorry are the two most boring songs off of CD.

Axl has been singing Easy/Brownstone for 25 years. It's OK to ditch some old songs that weren't hits - IE filler (if you consider those illusions songs as fillers) and replace them with songs that haven't been played live ever, or not for decades. Little surprised you think songs like PC, Don't Damn Me and Breakdown are fillers.

GnR is my favorite band. But I love bands that mix-up their set lists and don't just play the same songs, every year, every tour. There are bands that will play 70-80 songs on a tour.

Musical is all about personal preference. When I search on Youtube for live performances by the new band........I don't think I've ever - not once - looked to see how this current band plays Mr. Brownstone. But if they played Perfect Crime on the next show.......I bet it would receive a hell of a lot more views than Its So Easy.

Really?

Sorry Volcano. I didn't preface that correctly.

TO ME............CD and Sorry are the two most boring songs on the album. And are two songs that I always skip over. Generic and boring. I'd rather listen to Rhiad and Scraped.

Before you and W get too upset, feel free to look back over my post and realize I also said that GnR should play SIX to EIGHT songs off of CD at every show.

I agree about Sorry. Livewise at least it is a complete mood breaker. Taking it out was the best thing ever. But as for CD, taking it out would be only acceptable if he put 2 more CD songs in its place.
