So I got the cell.  Two days and 4 and a half hours later, left with an IPhone and a new number.  They were unable to 'port' my landline number to the cell.  I just wanted to get the fuck out of there!  I'll go back to my landline carrier next week and see if they can port my number to the cell if I continue to be their customer, port to port, wtf.  Fortunately, I've been stuck with an IPad before so I'm not totally clueless about that system.  Whole experience didn't endear me to a cell.

On the plus side I have the Grateful Dead channel I can listen to while I garden.  I can say Hey Siri.  And there is a do not disturb feature for calls.  I just need to sit down and play with it a bit.  The calendar feature will be a biggie with me.  Into weather so that's helpful.

I like that fact that your into the weather!

Not so many people are a fan of it in my ends.

Enjoy the phone and keep it on do not disturb.

Do you check out the earthquake map?  I find that incredibly interesting to follow.

Asbestos was once discovered in my school. It was in a very old building with basements and hidden rooms which clearly went unused for decades. The staff really tried to manage the PR disaster to parents. Thankfully it was in the days before everyone could complain on Facebook.

According to Wikipedia, asbestos still isn't banned in the USA.

Hidden rooms sounds like where the gym teacher would take the kids from my school to " teach them a lesson "

EAT!!!

As far as site seeing is concerned I wouldn't bother if you're only there for a day. Just eat yourself into a food coma. Bollocks to the Eiffel tower, I'd just spend the entire day stuffing my face!

This may sound like a totally British thing to do but I had the best burger I've ever had in Paris. In all honesty though, if you are in the Notre Dame area pop into The Lizard Lounge for something to eat. The burgers are amazing!

Also you need to go to Comptoir de la Gastronomie and try the Foie gras Ravioli. It's soooooooooooooooooo good and as a bonus it will piss the tree huggers off no end!

Les Invalides is essential.

It was built 1670s as a retirement home for war veterans and now It contains the military museum of France which is stupendous and Napoleon's tomb.

I just love the incongruence there between British young working class - it is not even that he is a punk per se - and la-di-da Euro cafe culture haha.
