Out of curiosity, has a former director of the FBI ever written a book about a sitting president...one year into his term?

I think you know the answer to that question so why do you ask?  What is your point?

Has a president ever fired a sitting FBI Director for investigating his criminal activities?

I think James Comey was only the seventh appointed Director of the FBI. Hoover held the position for over 35 years and there have only been a handful of directors since (not counting the individuals who served as acting directors because of transition from the outgoing to the newly Senate approved directors).  So not a whole lot to compare to.

It's funny that you guys are still 'resisting'. The USA is doing good under Trump. James Comey and the whole swamp won't do anything good for you.

Nothing wrong with writing a book. Unless he writes about classified information. That's a red line he can't cross.

Looks like Pompeo might not get confirmed as 3 Dems and a GOP Senator are leaning of not voting for him...he could still get in but history is against him............

Yup, he said that  yesterday pretty much cemented his decision not to vote for him

With the US now bombing Syria, I wonder if Trump will use the attacks as a distraction to fire Deputy AG Rosenstein and Mueller.

I don't think we're going to get into the war that everyone seems to think we are. Russia will continue the rhetoric for a few days, maybe retaliate in a small way, and everything will most likely go back to normal. It's just not worth it for the Russians to get into a large scale conflict with the US over a few air strikes.

Nah, the targets are just chemical facilities. Macron is the one who wants to beat the living shit out of Assad and Putin. The UK also participating. But I don't know how far the UK will go.

If he fires Mueller, he should go ahead and draft his resignation speech.

I doubt he will.  At this point, his best bet is that they don't find anything incriminating and if that's the case, would be a huge "I told you so" for him and his campaign.   That would be more damaging to his opponents than anything.

This is great, and for three reasons.  The first is the fact that Hannity has been extremely critical of the investigation into Cohen despite not disclosing that he was a client of Cohen.  Ethics much Sean?

Second, the entire thing could have been avoided had Cohen's legal team allowed the normal process to work and have the judicial district taint team (and yes, I giggle every time hear that) review what was relevant and what wasn't.  Instead, they argued they wanted a special master to review the process, which for legal reasons requires Cohen to disclose in open court who is clients are.

Which takes me to the third point: Cohen only had three clients last year.  There's Trump, who hires Cohen to pay off porn stars and playboy models.  Then there's Elliott Broidy, RNC finance chairmen, who paid a woman $1.6 million to keep shut about getting her pregnant and having an abortion (all arranged and facilitated by Cohen).  And third and final client is now Hannity.  Why?  Who knows at some point.  Some have speculated that Hannity wanted Cohen to investigate some of the left-wing groups who were gunning for a boycott of his show.  But until Hannity comes clean, it's not the kind of company one would want to be included.

I am sure the bombings did little damage. They had to warn the Russians to get out so they won't risk killing their soldiers.

Yeah true but lets not kid ourselves into thinking his coverage would have been any different

I used to be okay with Hannity but the guy is just a straight up hack. A mouth piece for Trump.

No, but much like a financial analyst promoting stocks he or she owns on a television, it's incumbent upon the on-air personality to disclose any conflicts of interest.  Hannity has been Trump's lapdog since day one, so I don't doubt he would have sang the same tune.  But at least his audience would know that Hannity had a conflict of interest whenever Cohen was mentioned.

I'm curious, when were you ever okay with Hannity?  He's always seemed to me the worst of the worst when it comes to Fox personalities and the easiest to mock.  He always struck me as the kind of guy created a character to play on television and then became that character (similar to the current President).

Speaking of wastes of space, how is Pruitt still a secretary of anything...
